Before After

Last day of Pilates

I am sad.  But I don't really want to pay extra for a gym class at a gym I already pay for.  I also don't like getting up at 0730 on a Saturday to go to the gym.  I think my new Saturdays will either be walking Millie or taking spinning and yoga.

Pilates is such a kickass workout though, I am definitely going to miss it.

Behold the power of exercise

I was in all kinds of a crappy mood this afternoon, mostly just from lack of food.  But still, cranky.  So I decided to suck it up and go to the gym.  I was running late.  And cranky.  And hit every freakin red light between home and the gym.  So, I decided screw it, I was going home.  Then I said no, I will go and if they class isn't full I will sneak in the back and workout.  So I finally got to the gym, almost 10 minutes late, snuck into the back of the class, and worked out.  In a MUCH better mood now!  I have discovered that I am a cardio junkie and if I had my way, I would do cardio every day.  But today was PowerFlex and I still loved it.

My eating was not great today.  I busted out first thing this morning with a peppermint mocha frapp from Starbucks.  I had a chicken sandwich for lunch, but no breakfast and no midmorning snack.  Not the way to do it.  I need a cream cheese replacement for my bagels.  I will have to think on that.

Kwando

You know, if I could do cardio every day and never lift another weight, I would.  Cardio is just so much fun!!!   Unfortunately, resistance training blah blah good for you blah blah.  Oh well.

Today was a holiday.  I should never be left alone in the house with food on a holiday.  I had 2 100 calorie snack packs, 6 oreos, a ton of pretzels, a Dr. Pepper, and a subway sandwich.  And that was just lunch. :)  Of course, I didn't eat breakfast, so i don't know if all that would count as breakfast too.....

To Pilates or not to Pilates

That is the question.

I love Pilates, I work hard, I sweat, and I feel it.  But how much is that really worth, monetarily?  Do I want to continue ponying up extra cash to be able to do Pilates once a week, or suck it up and switch to yoga.

I don"t know.

Spinning

Holy GUACAMOLE!  I think I broke my spleen.  What a hard/fun/evil class.  Craziness.  But I did it!  I didn't do everything the class did, but I would say I did about 75% and, more importantly, I never stopped peddling!  Definitely a keeper class!!

Power FLex BABY!

What a super fun class!  I thoroughly enjoyed it!  So, I think I have it figured out.

M - PowerFlex
T - Spinning
W - PowerFlex
TH - Spinning
S - Yoga

I think that works!!!

So, this yoga business

I don't hate it.  I don't love it.  I think in the long term it will be very good for me, but I don't know that it will help my shoulder.  I think on Saturday when I have yoga again, I will talk to the nice yoga lady about shoulder specific exercises/stretches.
My next class is spinning.  Ok then.  Another class I promised my sister I would give a month.  Luckily I know both spin instructors and they are super nice.  My other class, before anyone freaks out about strength training is power flex.  So every week, I have spinning 2x, yoga 2x, and power flex 2x.  Did I mention I am eating breakfast every day?  Go me!!!

Yoga day

Today is the first day of the rest of my yoga.  I am not a huge fan of yoga, but I promised my sister I would give it at least a month.  Today will be day 1.  I have an impingement in my shoulder, so I am hoping that the combination of yoga and easing off weights will result in bye bye impingement.  We'll see.  Hopefully, I will LOVE yoga and want to stick with it, I figure regardless, after a month it will be part of the routine and just what I do.  We are also adding spinning to the routine.  Yikes!  I hope I make it!!

New month

New attempt to blog!  So, nothing has really changed.  Oh, that's not true, I have started eating breakfast.  I also stopped working out with my trainer and am going it ALONE.  I have picked up Pilates and this week will also pick up yoga and spinning.  If you haven't done Pilates Allegro, I highly recommend it, it's my new favorite workout!  Very much fun!

Wednesday

Do you ever get tired of eating the same things over and over?  Apparently, I don't.  I eat a turkey sandwich every day for lunch and have for the last 3 months or so.  Sometimes we will go out to lunch, but the turkey is my standby.  And now I have noticed that every night for dinner (unless I go out), I have 2 scrambled eggs with ham, cheese and green chile.  Weird.  Of course, it makes keeping my food blog insanely easy since all I have to do is copy my meals over, but why don't I get tired of this?  Shouldn't I get tired of eating the same things every day?  I guess if it ain't broke, don't fix it, but it just seems weird to me.

And before people start commenting with other things I can try, I do eat other foods, I am not looking for recommendations, just noticing a trend.  Thanks though!!
