This Summer has been Crazy...but fun. Since I have lost a few I have been way more active. We just got home from Camping for a week in Tahoe(with the bears)LOL..anyway we had a blast! I as most of you may know have 3 kids ages9-15 but I also took my 2 nephews ages 8 and 11 and my nice who is 7. You added that right I had 6 kids and the family that we went with had 3 same age as mine. Suprisingly it went smooth and we all had a Blast. We spent a lot of the time swimming and floating in the lake. The part that I am so proud of is the fact that I Hiked up a huuuuuuge ass mountain and was fine keeping up with everyone, although we were at a higher elevation and oxygen seemed scarse...lol..we also went on a looooong bike ride. I thought back to last summer and remembered how out of shape and tired and grumpy I was and I felt some pride knowing I have come a long way....baby!
OH! another tidbit of info...my blood pressure is officially normal...I did it!!1 I lowered it!!! I so want to live long enough to see my grandkids one day...and that's what I intend to do.
WOOOOO HOOOO! one more bedroom to go. I finished one of my sons rooms and now I have to venture into my 15 year old sons lair. I got the rubber gloves and all..lol..jk..his whole life I have nagged him about his room I had to finally realize at this age I need to choose my battles with him, so once in a while I will go in and offer to help clean, but today it's serious...we have the big 40 gallon trash bags ready..lol.
OH! I haven't taken my BP pills for 2 days because I forgot to call in my prescription and I pick it up today well anyway I took my blood pressure last night and it was 124/82...OMG...this is a big triumph for me.....for all you who have been with me from the beginning know that I really want to get of BP pills...so I have decided to make an appointment and talk with the DOC about tapering off...I am so proud of myself...I have a lot more pounds to lose, but health is gettng better...and that a good thing!
I finished my daughters room and I am now working on my sons. His room is smaller and he doesn't have as much so I think I will finish today.
Things are going ok with the diet plan, I hope to be able to walk this evening.
I feel so much more energy this summer. What a difference it make when your not lugging an extra 43 pounds around.
OH! since I haven't blogged for a while, I have a little story to tell. First of all on the fourth of july we went to a friends house, her Mother was there whom I met 5 years ago and have been to many different occasions with her throughout the years. The most recent was in January just after I started my diet we went to dinner with My friend and her Mom. Well on the 4th I said hello and she smiled and said hi but seemed kinda distant, and later on that evening she was talking to my friend and I and said oh, by the way I am "-----------" and you are? I was speachless thinking she was kidding or losing her mind and I said, I am Dawn. She totally didn't recognize me...That was an awesome feeling.
A few days back I was out front gabbing with the neighbors and her sister whom I met 2 years ago and have seen every now and then since she visits most every weekend. She walked up and I said "hi ______" and she said, hello, I am sorry have we met? I was like yes we have..lol..I am Dawn from across the street, and she said OMG...laughing she said wow! I totally didn't recognize you! This made me feel good, it's things like that, that make me want to keep on keeping on.
Yesterday went well for me I strayed a little last night when I had a piece of my hubbys chicken Quesadilla.
I started doing a major overhaul on my kids rooms, we are getting rid of old clothes and toys and organizing everything. It's a big job but I have until Friday to finish(a little goal I have made)the three kids rooms. Then next week I will start on the other three bedrooms (guest, office and my room).
Over the weekend I worked out in the yard pulling weeds and trimming and all that fun stuff. I wonder how much of this I can count as Cardio?
Hello to all my extrapounds friends out there. It's been a long while since I have posted. I can give a long list of excuses but I think I will spare you all.
I have lost only 3 more pounds since I last posted, I guess it's better than gaining.
I have been swimming laps and or riding my bike for exercise. I have strayed a little off plan but I am back and plan on losing the rest of this fat.
I want to thank Jen for all the comments that she left me when I was gone, thanks Jen for caring about me.
I am going to browse for a while so I can see how you all are doing these days.
I have 7 more pounds to go to meet my first goal, although my target date has passed I will keep moving forward. I plan on setting a 2nd goal soon.
I didn't stick to the plan this weekend, but I didn't overdue it either so we will see what happens on Wednesday weighday. Last night I went for a powerwalk after dinner and I actually jogged for about 10 of the 40 minutes...I know it's seems like a no biggy, but for me it is. I am sure as the pounds fall off it may become easier to jog for now I will stick to walking and riding my trusty bike.
Water is my challenge this week, I do not enjoy water so I have to force myself to drink it. I have been doing well the last few weeks since it has been getting warmer here it's easier to drink, but boy when I slack of I sure can tell. I even noticed as I drink more and more water that I am becoming more regular, seriously, I think if we all drank more water Metimucil and Benefiber will go outta bussiness...
Is it just me or is the Month Flying by? I would kinda like it to slow down a tad so I can be sure to lose the 10 more pounds before my trip to Vegas in exactly 1 month.
I think this is going to be a nice relaxing weekend, what I mean by that is I have nothing on my schedule woooo hoooo! you know what this mean? it means I wil probably work out in the yard and finish planting a few of my mothers day gifts. The weather has been crazy here, rain non-stop for months, then blistering heat, it's like we skipped springtime all together..The weather man says it's gonna cool off this weekend, I hope so. well im off to read some inspiring blogs.
It's a little past 1:00am here and I am having a hard time getting to sleep....I keep hearing my son cough in the other room, he is doing much better, but I can't help it, I have a built in cough radar.
I have been reading some blogs, and it's very motivating to hear about all the weight loss success. I am now ready to take onmy day tomorrow.
This last week I have been trying to eat like every 2 hours an apple, protien bar, a veggie snack, a yogart, or even a Jamba juice...mmmmm, I have been trying to keep a healthy and balanced diet, and drinking lots of water. I think this helped a little to bump up the weight loss to 2 pounds instead of just one like the previous week. It's funny because I seriously have had to force myself to eat, I am like "it's time to eat again?" I am hoping this helps get my matabolism back up to where it should be.
I am going to try and take a picture tomorrow so that I can compare to a before shot. I might post it if it's a good one..OH! I forgot to mention that my size 14's are baggy on me. I will probably be able to keep them for another 5 lbs then I might be able to comfortably slip on a size 12...wooo hooooo!
It's almost the end of the school year here and I have mixed emotions about it, I really do want a break from Homework assignments and nagging my kids but then again, I am not sure I am ready to entertain them, they get antsy with nothing to do. We do have a week long camping trip to Lake Tahoe planned and another crazy idea I have is to take a road trip to Vegas and Arizona to visit family. Last year this time we were in Hawaii, now the kids are begging to go back, they have no clue how much it costs. KIDS!
Starting at the end of may we will be out of town pretty much every weekend for my daughters tournaments...it should be fun in the sun! I do love watching the kids play ball and she loves playing with all her friends.
I am just randomly rambling on here..What's up with that? Maybe I'm tired..
TODAY IS WEIGH DAY AND I LOST 2 MORE POUNDS FOR A TOTAL OF 40 POUNDS! WOOOO HOOOO! I AM SO EXCITED! 10 MORE POUNDS AND I WILL BE AT MY FIRST GOAL I HAVE UNTIL JUNE 19TH....I KNOW I CAN DO THIS! i WILL THEN ADJUST MY GOAL TO 150. THANKS FOR ALL YOUR SUPPORT!
I had a wonderful Mothers Day. My husband took us all out to my favorite breakfast place here in town, Then later on him and my brother in law BBQ'd steaks for dinner for our families. I am sure I went way over the planned caloric intake for the day. O well! My hubby also took me to my favorite nursery and I bought some hanging baskets for my porch, and he actually took the time to hang the hooks for me wooooo hoo.... I also got some more plants for my back yard, It needs some more color, if I have a chance today I'm gonna get out there and plant them. The kids all gave me their cards...I love em they are my favorite gifts..OH! and my hubby bought me a pass to the Tanning salon. what do ya think? was that a hint? LOL..just kidding..I asked for it.
I am taking my son to the Doctor this morning, he has been suffering with allergies and asthma for about 5 days now. Of course we have all the medications at hand that he needs, but it just doesn't seem to be getting better. On saturday night I woke up at about 2am to hear him gasping for air, and trying to cough, OMG! I ran faster than I ever have run in my life..I gave him his inhaler and he instantly was able to breath again. Asthma is some scary shit! Unfortunately all three of my kids have it,so I have lots of experience with dealing with it. When my son(who is sick now) was a lil baby we almost lost him due to bronchial problems, he was hospitalized 7 times in the first year of his little life. Throughout the years he has gotten a lot stronger and we are able to manage it but this year the allergies are terrible, so it has triggered episodes of attachs for him. I am certain he will be put on steroids today.
I rode my bike 4 out of 7 days last week, this week I am going to try and do it all 7 days...I have a jammed pack week as far as meetings, fieldtrips, practices..etc..
