6mo. vegan!
After 11 years of vegetarianism, I converted to vegan. Everyone in my circle knows that this was attempted several times by me since 2000. Lactose intolerance finally got the best of me in May 2011 forcing me to accept veganism. Here we are 6 months later and I'm still at it!
NO BUTTER, CHEESE, MILK, YOGURT, WHIPPED CREAM OR ANY DAIRY.
In American Standard diet terms that means I haven't had a Snickers, York, Little Debbie, Sara Lee, spread of butter on toast, cheese pizza, no Qdoba Queso, etc in 6 months. LOL
Dairy used to cramp my stomach, give me horrible bloating, nausea, headaches and at times vomiting. I am happy to say those issues are away from me. I was plagued by them for nearly 12 years of my life. I was clinging to dairy! I was a slave to nacho cheese and the occasional milkshake not to mention hot pastries.
With veganism accompanied with minimal exercise (2-3x a week) for the past 6 months, I have experienced the following:-increased mental and physical energy
-discipline in many areas-clarity of thought/better meditation-better skin
-better physical elimination
-and moreFrom the physical standpoint I have maintained a 15lb weight loss, lost 2 pant sizes and 3 dress sizes and lost.............
15.50 inches YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Though this was not done to lose weight, I am soooooo happy that it made me lose some, but most of all inches. I am thoroughly convinced that being vegan is what my body has needed my whole life. This is certainly knowledge that my daughter will intake to live a healthy life. A vegan diet that is packed with proper nutrients, exercise and sufficient water intake speaks for itself within weeks.
