This has nothing to do with weightloss...
but very important for your safety! In my neighborhood on Saturday night a girl was raped by two men who grabbed her as she was walking. Ladies be aware of your surroundings and know where your children are! This girl was alone and walking at 10 at night!I am apalled by this so I thought I will everyone on here be careful when you leave the gym, the grocery store or any place. Please dont take this is in a nagging way but just as a wake up call. Safety First

day four
I usuallywrite this the day after but today I decided to blog before I went to bed that way i would be sure not to eat anything else tonight. So a lot of my posts may seem blah blah but once I get on track I may just delete all my daily blogs and replace them with weekly summaries..ok so this is what i ate today. I didnt workout because I was tired and I went to work but I will be hitting the gym tomorrow.
Breakfast: bowl of oatmeal with 1/2 an apple
Lunch: 2 slices wheat bread with bell pepper, mozorella cheese and lettuce
Snack: around 1/2 cup to 3/4 cup of almonds with around 1/3 cup dried cranberries, a handful of bran crackers
Dinner: wheat tortilla with lettuce, brown rice, salsa, 1 cooked chili, romaine letucce
After dinner: 1 nugo bar (180 calories)
I dont feel like going through an calculating my calories right now but I did meet my goal of no food after 9:30pm.
By the way, I begin my first semester of college tomorrow ( I have taken college classes before but now i am an official freshman in college Yippee!), and I am nervous but also excited. I think a new atmosphere will help my weightloss. Good night...

Day 3 : I have a question
So yesterday was a good day for the most part, I got in an AM workout before I went to work and I am still sore. Except in the evening when I got home from work I had like 5 or 6 cookies! instead of say 1 or 2. which equalled around 500 calories plus I ate some other junk. If I would not have had those extra cookies and crackers I would have ate under 2,000 calories my goal is between 1500 and 1800. I am frustrated about this but I realized I need to eat more hardier foods throughout the day so I will crave sugars and carbs at night.
To all my fellow workout buddies I have a question: Is it ok to workout intense everyday and be sore? Will this soreness go down with stretching and over time? Or is it better to workout hard every other day and on off days walk? Or is it better to strength train one day and do cardio the next day?
Thanks for your help everyone!

Have an awesome day!

Day 2 Frustrations and Sucesses (sp?)
So today I went for a beautiful nice long run but then I had a carb and sugar overload
at night . I ate 4 yes i repeat 4!!!! nugo bars - these energy bars basically like sugary chocolate flavored rice krispies and an entire cheese foccacia and a half (basically one is the size of brick and the width of 2 cds covered with cheese). You see that is a lot of food! And it frustrates me that I eat good all day in moderation and then go crazy. after dinner. Ok enough of my ranting for today. I pray tomorrow will be better. I am not going to let one slip up bring me down forever...Have a good evening everyone

Day 1: Sugar Addiction Tips
So yesterday was a pretty good day. I worked out not cardio but strength trained. For breakfast I had 800 calories (ouch!). but the rest of the day was pretty normal. One of my "problems" I think is my love with sugar. We have a love hate relationship. I eat it and I get energy and it in turn pays me back with extra fat. I want to find nutritious ways to curb my sweet tooth. I love ice cream and a lot of times when I start to eat it I just dont stop until I have had 3 or 4 bowls worth! This holistic nutrtionist recommended i eat soy ice cream (yuck!
) because she said you cant even taste the difference between it. I think I will stick to Breyers. I also heard that if you eat a frozen banana it takes away your cravings. hmmm...a serving of fruit and a treat without the saturated fat and extra sugar.
I am curious to know what tricks everyone else has for curbing their sweet tooth.

My first post
So I just joined this website today. Here's a little info about myself. I am starting college full time next week. I graduated from high school a semester early that is why I am starting in the spring 2008 rather than fall 2008. When I was in seventh, I first started to lose weight and was unhappy with my body, starting having body insecurities. (You know what I mean, normal girl stuff.) The summer between 7th and 8th grade I lost 10 pounds through monitoring what I ate and running a lot. Once I got to highschool the weight started piling up. I gained around 20 pounds from the time I was a freshmen because of not exercising, stress eating and just plain eating TOO MUCH JUNK.
I am trying to reach my goal weight by my highschool graduation and I want to do this the healthy way! No dieting just more exercise, portion control, and more fruits and veggies.
Short term goals: Lots and Lots of water everyday, 30 minutes of physical activitiy EVERY day, replace some of my carb and sugar intake with fruits and veggies.
I am new at this blogging thing, so if anyone has any suggestions please let me know.
