Happy Thanksgiving:  welcome snowflakes!

Oh.My.Gosh!  I'm sorry, but after this past winter, I am NOT thankful for the snowflakes.  I'll try to keep my whining and sniveling to a minimum this winter for your sakes, but still!!  It's November!  I know, I know.  It's possible to have snow as early as Halloween here, so this is lucky to pull off another 4 weeks without the white stuff, but waaaahhhhhhhhh!!

Dear God, please protect me this winter!!

For those of you that don't remember, or weren't a part of my blog before, last winter we got around 90" of the wonderful stuff.  One week, we got around 2 feet that basically shut the city down until they could get around to everything with the plows.  The kids didn't even have to make up the snow days because the governor declared a state emergency.

And it messed up my elbow from all the shoveling.

Note to self:  find shovel tomorrow and go to Walmart for de-icer stuff!!
2nd note to self:  check mom's stock of de-icer first!

I should have known it!!

There WAS a Turkey Trot here today!!  Good Spokane!!  I didn't know about it in time, so I missed it.

I searched everywhere my little Kelly-brain could online and at Google, all the local running channels and didn't find it.  Then in the paper this morning, there it was.

Same place as last year, just not highly advertised this year.  So, I will clip the ad and stick it in my calendar for next year so I remember the wheres and whens of it.

2, 3 and 5 mile options
Starts at Manito Park's Duck Pond (I'll look for a picture or link later)
"Donation" of food or money for the food bank... nice!!

I *knew* there should be something here today and there was.  Hmmmmmph.

Water today = not much
Exercise today = so far, nil..... unless you count stopping by 2 grocery stores

I need to drink tons o water before the day is over LOL!!  And, after we eat dinner at mom's, maybe I'll do the jog-o-lean while watching the House marathon tonight.  I have to at least maintain that 2.something loss this week and I have the holiday and TOM to get in the way.

Oh yeah.  That.

Last week's WI = 253.2
This week's WI = 250.8
Challenge starting WI = 252.6

..... loss this week 2.4, overall 1.8 for challenge!!  Keep up the great work, friends!!  And good luck with week 3.  I'll have to remember to check over at the group to look for this weeks' goals.

Happy Thanksgiving = Five Weeks to New Year 2009!!

WOW!!  I couldn't believe it when I looked at the calendar this morning and saw that it is 5 weeks to New Years!!  Of course, it helped slap me to reality when I saw Zed42's post that it is 4 weeks to Christmas.  Simple math helped me know New Year's is one week later.

I checked my weight this morning (because I think TOM will start before a Sat WI and could be uglier) and will update the tracker and the 100-plus challenge board.  Hey, it just says I have to report a WI before Saturday.  It doesn't say I have to weigh-in ON Saturday.  Nice small loss this week and overall.  Not pulling the big percentages as you big losers (LOL) but that's ok.

So.  Back to the title of my post.  Five weeks left of this year.  I know I haven't accomplished what I wanted to this year (diet/weight-wise), but that's ok.  I am not where I was in the beginning of the journey or the beginning of 2008.

And.  2009 will be a great year.

2009 will be the year I find my GOLDEN TICKET in a lot of areas.

And yes, I am watching "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" this morning.  I love that movie!!  After the movie ends, I need to shower and go get a few groceries because I am "entertaining" the younger boys for today's holiday (my year LOL) and then they will come over tomorrow while their father works.  I don't work tomorrow and he does so this will allow him to work his full shift vs. a half shift if he has kids to deal with.

He works at a restaurant and the owner lets him take the kids when he has to (they love it too, free food!) but he has to leave before the lunch rush.  Makes sense.

Anyway.  Movie.  Grocery store.  Holiday festivities.  We're going to my mother's for the meal.  I hope all of you have a most Blessed Thanksgiving.  Hugs and Prayers to our soldiers and their families that are apart this day.

Tuesday

My gosh.  For a short work-week, it is sure dragging!!  Maybe it was the "possible disconnect" for gas at one my Starbucks' locations that I spent a lot of time and energy on yesterday and today that once I got it taken care of and in the clear for no disconnect, the rest of the day was anti-climactic enough and I was mentally exhausted enough that I just want to drop now.

Um.  It doesn't help that I was sleep-walking last night and ate a powdered sugar donut in the middle of the night, either!  OK.  I don't think I can honestly say I was sleep-walking LOL but I *did* eat the donut.  It was good too.

I am still exhausted.  I was supposed to have training tomorrow for 2 hrs and I asked the manager and lead if we are having it because I haven't gotten a "meeting request" for it.  He (lead) said "until it's on your calendar, it isn't happening".  She (Manager) said "no, it's not happening".  Thank goodness!!  I don't want to be away from my desk for 2 hrs tomorrow.

The high school kids get out at 11 a.m. tomorrow to deliver their food drive stuff.

Youngest ds (grade school) gets out at 11:30 a.m.

Me?  I'm working a full day so I can have some peace and quiet before the holiday starts!

Today's exercise:  brought to me by walking at the mall after work.  Two youngest sons wanted to go sell stuff at the used video, etc store.  I told them they better be happy with their transactions tonight because I doubt I will go back to the mall much before the new year now with Christmas shopping season starting on Friday!!

Happy Wednesday tomorrow, Happy Thanksgiving and have a great weekend!!

More Incentive/Rewards

So.  After watching The Bucket List, I keep thinking of the idea of skydiving as something that would be fun (maybe) in my lifetime.  Just for grins, I was googling the concept tonight and this one place I found, the weight limit is 240 lbs and for *each* pound over 240 there is an additional $2 fee.  The jump instructor has to approve you if you are over 240.  Interesting.  SO.  If I really want to do that, I need to get some more of this weight off.

Personally, I don't think I would want to go much before I was at goal weight, so the price hike would not be of much concern.

Now to decide if I really want to do that and to make a goal fund.

Oh.  For one of my next rewards, I am thinking the U.S. Figure Skating Championships that will be in Spokane in January 2010.  So far, they have the full event packages on sale and the weekends packages just went on sale a couple of weeks ago.  I need to wait until they open up each individual session and see if it is financially feasible.  I think it would be cool though!

I'm a L-oser!

Yep!!  I am so excited!!  I sneaked a peek at the scale this morning (I know, bad girl!) but it was down a little bit since Saturday's WI.  SO.  If nothing major happens this week with Pre-TOM and when TOM show up, it should be an ok week.

Something new today:  I went up and down the stairs at work twice.  We work on the 5th floor, so 4 flights up and down, twice!!  OIY!!  I thought I was dying at about the 3rd level up both times, but I did it!!  Then, after work, I did 10 minutes (better than none) of the Slim in 6 level 2!

I was gonna get up early and do it, but I just could not drag myself out of bed this morning.  Can't beat myself up over it since I completed the workout.

Hope you all had a great day - Happy Tuesday!

P.s. Between the jeans stickers, passes, parking raffles and gift baskets, we raised over $20000 for the United Way!!  Yay us!!

P.s.s.  My team *did* have a food drive vs. a November potluck and we invited everyone at work to participate and we got 10 barrels of food for 2nd Harvest Food Bank!!  Yay us again!!

Sunday

My hormones and I have basically laid around all day relaxing, watching Christmas movies on Hallmark channel.

:O)

The veggie soup is gone.  Two sons ate that for lunch today.  I made beef/noodles for dinner.  All I can hear is clanking on the bowls in there LOL!!  I don't know what I'll have for dinner yet.  Maybe cereal.  (Oatmeal is sounding good).

That veggie soup was such a hit with even the kids that I may have to make more of that.

Hope you all had a great weekend and have a wonderful new week.  Happy Thanksgiving.
