I got behind on the blogging. My weekend went fine as far as food is concerned. On Sunday evening, we went to our new small group with the church. There were FIVE different desserts. I will confess that I had a SMALL portion of two of them. They were from HEAVEN I believe. But, now I know that in order to avoid this temptation, I will have to eat something BEFORE we got to the small group and prepare myself to skip the fatty desserts.
Blogging challenge.....hmm...How do I avoid the temptations? Well, last night, I had convinced myself to quickly roast two marshmallows with the grill because I wants Smores SOOOO badly. I was GOING to do it. Then, I decided to pop into F&F first. Amber's challenge stopped me in my tracks. No Smores for me! :) (Thanks Amber!!!) I really have to physically stop an tell myself that I just CANNOT. One tiny step backwards usually starts a full retreat for me. One treat is never just ONE treat. It's always 3,004 of them. Ha!!
So, I am back to the food journal today.
Breakfast - nothing. I HAD to go to the grocery store. Got that done.
Lunch - sandwich on wheat bread.....still not a GREAT choice, but better than a McD's burger for sure.
Dinner: we're having stir-fry with brown rice. MMmmmmm.
Breakfast: One package of fruit snacks - My sister-in-law had a kindey stone and was at the hospital. I had to stay at her house with her kids.....no milk, no eggs, no bread.....there was nothing I could eat!!! I had these in my bag for Carson and ate them in desperation to try to appease my hunger and avoid the HUGE chocolate cake on the counter!! It worked!
Lunch :baked potato and some turkey
Dinner: Salad
TODAY Breakfast: 2 scrambled eggs
Lunch: Three slices lean turkey on a small whole wheat bun
Dinner: TBD....I'm headed to my parent who will probably take us out. In which case, I'll try to find something like a salad or veggie plate.
If I don't, I'm the BIGGEST CHEATER instead of the BIGGEST LOSER. Wonder why I'm not losing weight, huh? I'll have just one of the small tootsie rolls which turns into 5 by the end of the day. AHHHH!!!
But today is better.....because I knew I was going to post this here.
Breakfast: 2 eggs scrambled, 1/2 glass skim milk
Snack: 1 lowfat string cheese
Lunch: 2 slices lean ham, 2 slices lean turkey on a small whole wheat bun and a cup of strawberry low-fat yogurt
Dinner: I'll be making a taco salad with the dressing on the side......lettuce, fat-free cheese, tomatoes, olives, FF sour cream, and turkey instead of ground beef!
I'm at about 30 ounces of water so far....not great, but there's lots of day left!
Well, I weighed this morning and I am down 1.8 pounds since Monday. I'd love to see more of it come off. But then I remember that I didn't get fat overnight. I remembered from before when I lost some weight that what I am doing this week will show on the scale next week. My efforts will pay off it I stick with it.
So, I'm off to mow the lawn, hoping I can sweat off at least one more before my weigh-in on Monday!
It's horribly hot here. The kids can't get outside to play and we haven'y done much at all. SO, when my friends planned a playdate, I was all about it! BUT, they went to McDonald's. "That's okay," I told myself. So, I went and ordered a grilled chicken Southwest Salad. I used very little dressing. My friend ordered and hollered if I wanted a drink and I said yes. I meant to order water, but she had ordered a soft drink. I at least drank diet instead of the sweet tea I wanted so badly.
All was well. I didn't even sneak a fry (easy since I ordered apples for my kids!). But, our McDonald's gives those free tiny cones to the kids. I got one for each child since the other kids had them too. And then, Ansley handed me hers and yelled, "Quick Momma! It's dripping!!" And I instinctively licked aroudn the cone. My friend Brandee said she watched my face wrinkle as I did it and she knew what I was thinking!! CRUD.
Well, I have done lousy at blogging, but as I pick myself up and wipe off the dirt from yet another failed weight loss atempt, I begin again.
Today, I drank water. Three glasses to be exact. I drank three yesterday also. That is an accomplishment because I don't drink enough. I know that is a major source of the problems with my weight, my skin, and my overall health. I just didn't realize how little I drank. Over the weekend, I went from noon on Saturday to almost 11:30 on Sunday having had NOTHING to drink.
AND....I rode my bike completely around the subdivision. I didn't have to get off of it and push until I got to my driveway. I should go take a picture though so you understand why I got off. The gears slipped and I nearly fell. I'm still figuring out the shifting!!
