Before After

Sigh

The yo yo'ing is back. I just can't stop eating. Today is the day I have decided it needs to stop. I put on a fair few pound and I have a ball in two weeks and surgery in three. Want to drop a half a stone by then if that is possible.

I should probably mention that the surgery is on my knee so I have been finding it hard to muster up the motivation to exercise when I can't do the exercise I want.
New day today though. Porridge for breakfast, salad for lunch and swimming after work. Lets home this is the start of some thing great. Or at least mediocre.. Fingers crossed! ;)

I was so bold!

I fell off the wagon already! I had a slice of pizza last night! Will have to be extra good today to make up for that! Eek :( back on the horse, right back it! I have the power to change my own life, only me, and I will. Gym today and healthy eating!

Day 3

I forgot the horror of living with non dieters when you're trying to be good! I recently moved back home so the last time I tried to lose weight it was only me really. I wasn't sitting around while other people scoffed back crisps and chocolate in front of me. Last night brought about that reality good and hard. I'm do a version of the Atkins as I said but, as any of you who have tried low carb know, the initial cravings are the worst. I did however trojan on through and here I am the following morning, still feeling strong, calm and in control :)

Got up a bit later this morning so my gym schedule will be mucked up a bit but I'm not great at functioning with less than 6 hours so it has to be done. Going to try and make it to bed before 11 for the rest of the week. A well rested and healthy T moving into next week!

Another noteworthy point is that it's coming up to Christmas and living in Ireland this is allegedly an excuse to go on the beer 7 days a week and to eat twice your body weight. Just from popping out for a quick drink and food yesterday (I had water and a salad!) I saw how hard it may become so going to have to think up some creative solutions. I'm off alcohol for 2 weeks then I am going to have to come up with a replacement for the beer. Gin and slimline tonic all the way I'd wager. At least i'll look like more of a lady ;)

First trip back to the gym

Well lads and ladies, I survived! Well, just about.. Had set myself a 5km run on the treadmill but luckily due to time restrictions on the machine I was booted off after 3. In hind sight that was probably for the best. The goal will be to get to the 5km mark before it throws me off in future. Did a shortish stint on the bike too, 100 ab crunches, the plank and some arm exercises. Easing myself in but feeling motivated. Had tuna salad after. Now for the real world..

Day 2

So day 2 here we go. It's Monday morning, I have a tummy full of porridge and I'm on my way to the gym! If you don't hear from me I've gone into cardiac arrest ;) have made myself lunch of tuna salad and dinner of savory mince and veg. Should probably mention I'm doing a form of Atkins. I have my one big carb fest of cereal in the morning then low carb for the rest of the day. Fingers crossed, wish me luck and let's hope the grouchy craving monsters don't get a hold of me! ;) x

after thoughts..

Always most to say at the get go but here it is. A few things that could account for the weight gain.

1. Torn ACL stopped me running for a while. No exercise makes Tracey fat and lazy..
2. Thesis writing. Makes Tracey eat a whole lot of crap.
3. I have an underactive Thyroid. I normally take elthroxine for this but because of monetary issues haven't exactly been good taking them. This means metabolism goes to shit..

So, moving forward while keeping these in mind. ACL is fixed, Thesis is still being written but I'm more aware and I have my prescription filled for the next few months ;)

Day 1

So I just did the measurements thing and took some very unforgiving underwear shots (see http://www.extrapounds.com/blog/farreltr/gallery/album_id/60111). So my goal is to be a size ten but looking at the measurements versus mine I'm not sure that it will work. UK size ten is 34 26 36. I am currently 32 30 38 so a bit all over the place. I am quite top heavy though in terms of chest I am 31 inches underneath but 43 inches around the fullest part so not sure what way I am supposed to measure!

Anyway, here. we. go!

Hi There

Hi everyone. My name is Tracey. I'm a 25 year old electronic engineer. A few years ago I let my weight soar to 16 stone (See pictures in really fat me). After looking in the mirror and getting the shock of my life I decided something had to be done and on a low carb diet coupled with an exercise plan I managed to lose over 5 stone. At my lowest I got down to 10 and a half stone where I was pretty happy (see pictures in post diet take 1). I've had a fair bit of stress over the last few months and really let it take hold of me weight wise, after putting it off and putting it off I finally took the scary step and weighed myself today. Almost 12 stone! I was gutted. Will take some pictures of me today and upload them. I am currently a size 12 - 14 but would love to get down to a 10 by March as I have a wedding to go to in April and really want to buy a nice dress for that and feel confident and pretty. I believe I can do it so the battle starts today!
