Its been a long time...

WOW!  Its been a long time since I have written.  Not much new going on except I BROKE my FOOT!!!  Omgosh it hurts really bad, but it is actually healing quite well.

This is a picture of what my fracture looks like...although my break is on the Left foot.

Fractures, foot. Spiral fracture of the shaft of ...

And my doc says I cant RUN.  I am devestated.  But I only have 3 more weeks until my next x-ray.  Hopefully itll be healed by then.  I really want toget back running.  I cant believe how much I miss it!
My doc says I can use the stationary bike to keep my cardio level, but its not the same as running or even the eliptical.

I have lost a couple pounds, but I havent been able to work out much due to the pain.  I cant wait to not be injured anymore.

OH -- and it SNOWED today.  I am so sick of winter!!  I cant wait for the REAL first day of spring.

Small but Mighty

Short post today -- but I thought I had a crappy weekend!!  But at weigh in today I lost.....drumroll please....3 lbs!  Its small, but hey, its gone.  I also got a haircut this weekend.  I think I like it...not sure yet.

A quote I saw today...."A vision without execution is hallucination," Thomas Edison.

5 AM gym visits

I went to my normal gym on Thursday morning at 5 AM (because I had a 14 hour work day staring me in the face and I just HAD to make it to the gym) and it was just as busy as it was when I go at 7 pm!  Are people nuts!?!  I hopped on the last treadmill just in time to not have to wait for one.
Had an interesting encounter the other night...the lady next to me asked me to stop smacking my gum.  I had waited about 10 minutes to actually get on a treadmill and I looked down at her time...1:45:32...I looked at her and said can you please honor the 30 minute time limit?  and kept smacking my gum.

That really bothers me.  I understand people want to get long runs in, I get it.  But dont come at the busiest time of the day and expect to run 10 miles! I just hate waiting for one to become available and I hate it even more when boyfriend is ready to move on to weight lifting and since I started later because of the wait, I have to miss some of my lifting.  It really erks me.  Maybe its because I am OCD, but even more, its COMMON COURTESY.  Come on people!

Well, still trucking along in the running program.   I really want to swim on my off days to get some cross-training in, but I do not want to spend $80 on a swim suit!  I can barely force myself to spend that much on a pair of good running shoes.  I am almost out of luck.

I am trying to find a short road run so I can practice out on the street before I actually run the race.  OH the race is April 16.  So almost a month away.  Cant wait.  But cant really find a good path.  Oh well, Ive got a while still.

Hope everyones weekend is Healthy and Happy!

March Madness!

I guess my life wont ever slow down! 6, 12-hour days are NUTS.

Thank goodness I get to sleep in tomorrow.  But laundry and the house are staring at me.

I have lost an amazing 23 lbs!  I CANT believe it.  I was terrified to step on a scale before, but now that i see the weight melting off of me, I want to get on the scale everyday!  I had to move my bra clasp in one more and I can see the loss in my chin and face and my hands.  I am SO HAPPY.

I am now on week 5 of my training program.  I am finding an unnatural longing to go to the gym.  Im not sure why.  I just know that I love how stress free I feel when I leave.

SO I think my 5k will have to be sometime in April.  Hopefully itll be warmer by then.  The weather is still a roller coaster.

Other than my recent obsession with my weight loss, my job is the only other thing that floods my mind.  My boss is C-R-A-Z-Y.  Hopefully she gets fired soon.  Its in the works.  I cant keep working like this.  I dread going to work and I leave work feeling worthless and crappy.

Thanks for the support!  I feel so good about myself!  I want to go out and buy all new clothes, but I have so much more to lose!  I will wait till they are falling off of me!
Have a great weekend!!

Monday

WOW!  I have been so busy!  A lot has gone on since Wednesday!

Thursday, I went to work, passed meds and went home with a fever...couldn't sleep so I just watched Law and Order all day.  Didn't go to the gym, just stayed home to rest.  I am just NOW getting over whatever it was...today is Monday

Friday, I went to work reluctanly...my bed sounded so good...I came home from work so ready to go to the gym and workout...boyfriend was out with his friends, asked me to wait for him, and I did.  I shouldn't have.  I should have just gone without him...I fell asleep on the couch.  Woke up every 1/2 hour when I actually did get to my bed...sleeping without him is really hard...I am terrified.  AND needless to say, I was pretty MAD.

Saturday, I worked 12 hours, but after work, I got in my training run.  It felt really good...Workout was cut short (of my lifting, abs and sauna and hottub) because boyfriend wanted to watch the fights.  His brothers cable was acting up so they couldn't get the fights.  OH WELL (sarcastic).  I wish we would have known, I could have stayed at the gym longer.

Sunday was really nice...boyfriend had to work so I slept in, and woke up just in time to make it to a new church.  It was BEAUTIFUL!  It is a new church, but in an old cathedryl.  I couldn't stop looking around, absoluetly GORGEOUS.  But then I came back to reality when I got home and there was a dirty stove and laundry piling up.  I cleaned the house and almost had laundry done when boyfriend came home, put his feet up and started to play XBOX.  Boy did that make me upset.  But when we went to the gym, all of that melted away.

Training has gone really well for me lately.  I am starting week 4 on my program.  It is having me run 3, walk 1.5, run 5, walk 2.5, run 3, walk 1.5, run 5 minutes.  Towards the ends of my time, i am counting down the seconds, but it feels good when I get done.  I am one day closer to my ultimate goal... 1/2 marathon in October!!

Gotta keep my eye on the PRIZE!!

Wednesday

Thank God today is Wednesday and I only have 3 more work days.
The weather here in KC is crazy.  Warm one day and freezing the next.  My sinuses have really taken a hit.  Sore throat, drainage, headache, slight elevated temperature, fatigue.  Didnt work out yesterday, just rested to rid myself of this crap.  Didnt work...still feel the same today.  Boyfriend made spaghetti...had a small portion...couldnt taste it really.  Havent really been all that hungry.  I hate to say that I have been forcing myself to eat, but its true.  Nothing sounds good, or tastes good.  Maybe that is a good thing.

Went on the Eating Well website and looked up some quick low calorie recipies that boyfriend and I can make after going to the gym...we want something good for us, but we are really hungry by the time we get home, so we want something quick.

Over the weekend I went to 3 thrift stores near my house and spent $40 on new workout clothes.  I found all name brand stuff... I am so excited!!  I probably got over 12 outfits.  I also bought a zebra scrub top.  SO CUTE.

Im dragging today...thinking if I dont get a pick me up, I might rest again today so I can come back full force tomorrow and just kick butt at the gym for the weekend...

Healthy Hump Day!

Mundane Monday

Well, I am back at the start of my work week yet again.  Sundays seem to go by so quickly!!

Yesterday is truely my day OFF for the week and I want it that way.  So I usually don't work out.  I put sweat pants on and do laundry and I lounge around the house.  The back screen was open all day which was nice because it was 28 degrees this morning when I woke up!!

Eating yesterday was kinda rough...my boyfriend and I went to eat Mexican because it was fast and we hadn't gone to the grocery store for the week yet.  I had a small portion of chips and salsa and GASP...cheese dip...its so good not to resist.  BUT I only had a chicken taco.  So, calorie-wise, I did okay, but the types of calories were not good... oh well, it is my ONLY day off for the week...I guess I can cheat a little.

I start week 3 of my Couch to 5K training today.  This program I downloaded on my phone has me to run 3x/week for 9 weeks.  I started the first of Febuary and figure I will be done the 1st week in April, but honestly I am kicking this programs butt, so I might be done a little earlier.  I really could run all 5 days that I make it to the gym, but finding a treadmill around 7:30 pm is really tough.  I guess the interval training I get on the elliptical is helpful as well.  I havent road ran yet.  I hope that isnt to difficult.  I would like to do my 5k in April and a 10k in July and then a 1/2 marathon in October!!  And hopefully all my weight will be off by my birthday Sept 30!  I turn 25...what a great way to start the next 25 years!! THIN!  Wow, that sounds so appitizing...to be thin...(sigh)

Thanks for the comments guys....I never expected 3!!

Happy Healthy Monday!

Day 1

Today is Saturday and Im at work for 12 hours...the weekend girl quit, so I am stuck doing 6 days a week.  But the overtime will be nice.
I have been working out for about 3 months religiously and havent really lost any weight yet, but I recently told my doctor and he put me on phentermine.
I started phentremine on Thursday.  I haven't noticed any difference yet, but I expect to soon.  Word on the street says it quick-acting!

I am writing this blog to kind of keep me accountable.  Im not sure if people will read this or not, but if you do, I hope to encourage you to live healthier as I try to do that every day.
