Ode to my Metabolism
Ode to my Metabolism
Metabolism mine, how do I hate thee? Let me count the ways.
Because of you, I gained eight pounds in only five short days!
I ate too much, there is no doubt, I messed up and I know it...
But thanks to you, metabolism, my weigh-in sure did show it!
I should have skipped the Frango mints and left the pumpkin pie...
I ate those mints in but two days, and didn't even try!
What was I thinking when I thought the way to start the day
Was a big slice of pumpkin loaf and an eggnog latte?
Despite the sumptuous delicacies which spread before my eyes,
I should have realized that they would end up on my thighs.
So now it's time to put an end to all of my frustration
And lose the weight that I just gained...(before going on vacation!) =-)

I'm with you!!
I gained 9 pounds in the past 2 weeks, and I've taken off 5 of them in the past 2 days. One good thing about that quickly gained weight--- it comes off just as quickly!

That stinks
I feel your pain, that really stinks. Why is it sooo much easier to add than to subtract. I just don't know, I am sure it is not like you ate 28,000 extra calories - sending skinny vibes your way, I am going to go get some more water now!

That poem is awesome and OH MY GOSH how true it is. But, you are a conqueror and will shed those pounds in no time. Buckle down and stick to it.
Blessings to you......you should send that poem to some women's health magazine. Chargail

Very Creative
I loved your poem but I loved your attitude about the whole gain even more. I try to look at each gain as if I'm already at my goal weight. I mean if for the rest of your life you only fluctuated 9lbs wouldn't that be GREAT? This isnt just about losing weight it's about keeping it off through a lifetime of holidays, special events, deaths, births, etc. So I say CONGRATULATIONS. You'll never step on the scale after 7 days and hear them say "oh you're up 100lbs this week" so CONGRATS for owning it and stopping at 9lbs! All the best for your vacation prep.
Hope
