Those Flippin' Scales!!!

Scales!! Scales!!! Scales!!  Those Flippin' Scales!!!

ok... WW is saying that i', losing slowly. my scale says i'm maintaining or gaining...and my doctors scale says i gained!!

what the heck. i weighed at my doctors office about 4:30 pm. then at 6 pm weighed in at WW and guess what..WW said i lost .06 and my doctors scale said i GAINED a pound!!

when the nurse took me past the first room where i weighed last month i knew it might not be good. and yep... up on room 2's scale and bam a pound gain. and well my home scale has a mind of its own and is probably b/c other people are using it too.

so heres what has me frustrated. my insurance wants me on a 3 month diet plan and weighing in at my doctors. thank God i also started WW so that i have them as a professional creditable weight record too b/c at this rate depending on what scale i get put on next it may not show i did lose some weight, maintained, but instead show i gained even more!!

it frustrates me b/c they don't care about any of the healthy changes i've made to my life over the last three years and yet i am at risk to die young. red tape stinks!!!!!

It is frustrating isn't it?

I know, I've experienced the same thing.  I've decided that no matter what the WW scale shows, I'm documenting my weight on EP from my digital scale 1st thing in the morning, naked and after using the rest room (sorry, TMI I know) and that way I'll always have the same type of "environment".  Because even though WW is at the same time of the day every week, I may be wearing different clothes.

I know you have different reasons and rules as to how you need to do it for the surgery but maybe for your own sanity you could do the same for your EP blog just to know if you've gained or lost based on one regular source...just a suggestion.

Scales...

I know what you mean about the scales... there's a 4kg (8-9lb) difference between the scales at my gym, and the ones at my doctor. I refuse to weigh myself at home...

Example.. I had my first assessment at the gym, and I weighed in at 103kg (roughly 227lb). I went to my doctor the same day for my monthly WI, and their scale weighed me at 99kg (217lb)! Crazy! I go by what the doctor's scales say, because I started weighing there first, so when I weigh at the gym, I just take away the 4kg.

I read somewhere once - scales are for fish! Maybe we'd be better off with this mindset...

scales

The scales are a tricky thing. I can weigh and there is a difference of about 5 lbs between dr scales and the one I use. Dont get discouraged. The nurse at my drs office said the medical scales are used so much and are rarely recalibrated. Who knows if thats the truth! Made me feel better though.

Scales Grrrrrrrrrrr

Well I really get obsessed at times.I have 3 at home and not one of them read the same. I now take the real weight from the WW scales but keep an eye on it with my own.

This is what my last scales said
