Before After

Blah

I woke up late this morning and after I got out of the shower I felt nauseous. I decided not to go to work today because I didn't want to feel extremely sick while riding on the train. Yuck! :0( After I ate breakfast, I ended up sleeping until noon. It felt soooo good to get more sleep. I haven't been getting enough sleep lately. I've been soooo tired for awhile now actually. Fortunately, my lunch is already prepared (I'm just going to bring what I was supposed to bring today), and I'm just going to wear what I would have worn today. It wasn't as hot as expected today. It was in the upper 70s maybe low 80s with a nice warm breeze. My kind of weather...love it! :0P

I'm just going to watch So You Think You Can Dance, and I'm off to bed. Hope everyone had a great day! :0)

Nordstrom Anniversary Sale

It is mine and my sister's annual tradition to go to the Nordstrom anniversary sale every July. We've been doing this for 5 years now (approximately). We are freaks too because we would wake up early just to get there when they opened at 7am lol.

I was looking at the catalog yesterday, and there weren't a lot of stuff I was feeling. Since I'm big, I usually only get shoes, make-up, jewelry, and accessories like handbags, sunglasses, scarves, etc. There were some cute clothes but I can't fit them right now. :0( There are only a few things I want to get from the catalog, but I know there will be a lot more stuff on sale when we go there. Hopefully there won't be a lot of stuff that I'll like there. I need to take it easy this year because I don't have the kind of funds I normally have had in the past. I used to go crazy before too! :0P

Here's to my goal to losing enough weight to be able to fit in cute clothes at the 2009 anniversary sale!

Bracing myself...

for the heatwave that is supposed to start tomorrow. It was nice and hot outside but with a cool breeze. Tomorrow is supposed to be in the 80s (although I just checked weather.com and it's supposed to be in the upper 70s. WTH???). I can never fully trust what the meterologists predict since Mother Nature knows best in the end, and it all depends on her mood lol. The weather hasn't always been like this all summer (unfortunately) so when it does get hot, we either embrace it or just groan about it lol. Personally, I'm not the biggest fan of extremely hot weather. I like it sunny and warm but with a cool breeze. I hate it when it's hot and humid with a nice WARM breeze. YUCk! Fortunately, I work in an office that has air conditioning, but I'm worried about my two dogs since my house gets really hot in the afternoon (since it's so insulated). I'm making sure there is a fan positioned near them so my mom can turn it on in case it does get really hot tomorrow.

I was really good drinking water today (I drank 64 ounces WOO HOO!) and food in general. My co-worker and I ate outside in the shade on the Embarcadero. It was so nice outside. We didn't want to go back to work lol. My breakfast and lunch are prepared for tomorrow. Just need to figure out my outfit now. Just gotta do a couple of things and I'm off to bed. I didn't get enough sleep again last night (what else is new unfortunately), and I'm pooped today because of it. I really need to start going to bed early. I need to do a lot of things. Actually, I just need to stop PROCRASTINATING so I can get everything I need done and accomplish my ongoing list of goals. I'm a terrible procrastinator and need to break free from it once and for all (but that's a whole other blog)...

Ok, getting off the internet now and off my fat behind to accomplish some stuff before I pass out. Until tomorrow...

Swimming

I was watching the U.S. Olympic trials for swimming a little while ago, and it made me wish I could swim better. I took swimming lessons when I was younger and was able to do the freestyle back then. Now if I try to do it, I get water in my mouth and nose. That's what happens when you don't put the skills to use in the long run. I grasp the concept of the freestyle swim but I just haven't worked out the kinks of turning my head to the side to get a breath of air without swallowing water.

I know swimming is a really good workout. They have lap swim hours at the local rec center along with a water aerobics class that I mentioned I would like to take (but haven't as of yet due to the crappy weather over here). There is supposed to be a heatwave this week so I'm thinking I might just try the water aerobics class out this week. I've already washed my swimsuit too. We shall see... :0)

I need to make my lunch and figure out what to wear for tomorrow so I can go to bed already. I'm pooped. Shoot! I just realized I forgot to put my laundry in the dryer. Ok, gotta do my thing before konking out for the night. Hope everyone had a great weekend. Back to the daily grind tomorrow...

Busy Sunday

First off, I weighed myself and I lost 1.7 lbs for the week. I just need to lose 1 more pound and I'll be back at my start weight so I can have an actual loss from there. WOO HOO!

I have a lot to do today since I didn't get any cleaning done on Friday and Saturday (typical of me lol). I just ate a protein rich breakfast and am just finishing up my nectarine so I can start sorting my dirty laundry to clean. While my first load is in the washer, I'm going to go on the treadmill for half an hour (I decided to wait a little longer on my treadmill plan and get my body used to going on the treadmill first before trying it out again) and take a shower. From there I'm going to start the real cleaning lol. Gotta clean up the living room (my dogs made a mess with their toys), clean up the kitchen and probably clean the dishes again, clean up my bathroom, and especially start cleaning my room (the disaster zone!). It will take me a while to fully clean that puppy up but it will definitely happen!

Hope everyone enjoys their last day off before reality kicks in and we're back to the daily grind tomorrow. (Yuck!  lol)

Sugar-free Gum

I was craving something sweet earlier and was trying not to eat anything bad. I already had a sweet white nectarine after I had dinner (which I should have just ate another since my mom bought a lot from the farmer's market on Thursday. It's also naturally sweet and better for me. DUH!). I was trying to find the fruity sugar-free gum I had bought last week to no avail (plus I didn't try hard enough to find it since my room is an utter mess at the moment). I ended up just having a small Dixie cup of Lucky Charms to curb my sweet tooth... D'OH!

When I was watching The Biggest Loser, they had spoken about chewing Extra gum if they had a sweet craving. Yeah, grant it it was more of a advertising ploy, but it is a rather good idea. I have tried it before and fruity sugar-free gum does help curb my sweet tooth (plus it lasts long too!). From now on, I am for sure going to  have various flavors of fruity sugar-free gum on hand so I can chew that instead of going for something bad for me. I can have such a bad sweet tooth that it gets me in trouble sometimes. If I can really curb my sweet tooth with natural sweet fruit or a little piece of dark chocolate too, it will help me stop with the bad white sugar and high fructose corn syrup that many sweets have.

Happy 4th of July :0)

Today has been pretty uneventful for me. Although it is a holiday, it feels like a regular day with the exception I'm off lol. My dad and sister are both in San Diego, and my mom is working tonight so nothing special is going on today. With my mom working tonight too, we both decided to cook for 4th of July tomorrow instead since she will be off tomorrow night. I'm just going to watch fireworks on tv tonight. It has been gray and foggy day all day too so I don't know if fireworks will be seen well for the people going to the city.

I only put away the dishes and cleaned the dirty ones. I have felt so blah especially with the weather today that I just decided to relax and kick back with my dogs. I have learned now that my dogs really don't like the loud sounds of (illegal) fireworks. (In the city I live in, people are allowed to light "safe and sane" fireworks but my neighbors prefer the illegal ones like bottle rockets). There were a bunch of loud booms so far, and my little one, Charlie, starts barking while my big boy, Landon, runs and hides behind me. I'm not looking forward to when it starts getting darker and more fireworks will be lit. Lovely...

I was craving a little ice cream this evening and realized I had "kid" ice cream cones which are like 2 inches tall and 15 calories for 3 of them. They are sooo cute! I found them at Target the other day. It's a nice way to have a little serving of ice cream without eating too much since it only holds a little ice cream. I had bought the slow churned kind that is less calories per serving. I just discovered that recently too lol. I had a nice little cone with cookies and cream. Yum! :0P

Another goodie that I've found is 3 Musketeers with dark chocolate and mint. YUM!!! I bought the mini ones so I can enjoy one and be satisfied since it isn't as fattening as a mini snickers bar or kit kat. A girl has got to find healthier chocolate alternatives especially when I normally love milk chocolate. Dark chocolate isn't my favorite but it has antioxidants in it so hey why not. All in moderation of course. :0)

I hope everyone is having a great holiday weekend so far. I'm enjoying my weekend so far. It's relaxing honestly. After I complete this blog, I'm going to look for a good recipe to utilize the fresh rosemary that my mom's co-worker gave her last night. I love the taste of rosemary! :0)

Take care and enjoy everyone!

I love 3 day weekends!

I'm soooo happy for this weekend! LOVE IT!!! :0) Although I'm not going anywhere this weekend, I will have lots to do. Today is going to be my rest evening because I will be doing some summer cleaning all weekend. My room is a disaster area. I need to do laundry. I want to start cleaning out the garage. Maybe clean up the patio. Mind you, it won't be completely clean by the end of the weekend (there's so much to clean), but at least it will be a start. So much to do, so little time. In between all the cleaning, I need to walk my dogs to tire them out so they won't be whining when I'm not in the room with them, and I also need to get some exercise in too. Isn't cleaning a form of exercise though? I won't be burning mega calories but I'll be moving a lot so that will count for something right? All I know is I can't be chillin all day being lazy. My sister is in San Diego right now so I won't have anyone in my way so to speak. :0P

I hope everyone has a great holiday weekend no matter what you do! Take care, and enjoy yourselves!

Exhausted

I'm so physically, mentally, and emotionally exhausted at the moment. I can't even think straight anymore it's that bad. I can't even speak coherently sometimes either. I've been so moody at work this week too. The funny part is it's only at work but I'm fine otherwise. I decided not to go on the treadmill today because I feel like I'm about to pass out. I really need to go to bed early tonight. I already made my lunch for tomorrow. Now I just need to figure out what to wear. I'm soooooo happy that I'm off on Friday so essentially tomorrow is my "Friday". LOVE IT!!!

I wish i could take some time off from work. I don't have any time saved at this point after taking lots of time off while my sister was sick last year and taking time here and there this year. I wish I could go into hibernation mode and sleep for a month. I feel so drained. I really need to take better care of myself. I'm afraid my immune system is going to get so low I will end up getting sick or something. *sigh*

Ok, I need to figure out what the weather is going to be like tomorrow so I can pick something to wear and get ready to bed. I'm going to try to be in bed by 9pm. I hope my mom doesn't oversleep because I won't be awake to check up on her.

I want to go to Macy's in Union Square tomorrow after work. Instead of taking BART, I'm going to walk there to get some exercise. It's probably a good 6-7 block walk (???). I don't want to stay downtown too long. I just want to check on some stuff and head home. Since it will be a nice walk, I think I will just walk my dogs when I get home to add to my exercise and relax the rest of the evening.

Tomorrow is definitely another day...

Day 2, Week 1

I thought today's workout would be a little easier but the 1 minutes @ 3.5 mph was tough. I think it's the speed that really gets me not the amount of time I need to go on the treadmill. I was talking to my mom, and she thinks I should get used to the treadmill this week gradually getting to 3 mph and start the plan next week. I'm seriously thinking about it, but a part of me wants to see if I can actually do it. The thing is my left foot has been sore since I started yesterday. It's probably from all the weight I am carrying times the speed I'm going. My left leg has always been stronger than my right leg because of a bike accident I had in college that messed up my right knee. Maybe I can compromise and go at a slightly slower speed like 2.9 mph tomorrow and bring it up to 3 mph next week. We'll see. All I know is I will be back on the treadmill tomorrow doing another cardio walk like Monday one way or another. :0)

I do have The Biggest Loser workout DVD volumes 1 and 2 that I could also do tomorrow. I haven't tried that out yet. I was thinking of doing it on Friday, my free day. I think I might check it out before I go to bed tonight.

NOTE TO SELF: Make sure I double knot my sneakers tomorrow. My right shoe became undone in the middle of my walk but I kept going constantly checking to make sure the lace didn't get stuck. Apparently I didn't tighten them enough.
