Somethings got to change..

I haven't really ever written in here but I think it's about time I started to. Maybe if I do some networking it will help me stay on track.

A lot of things have happened in the last few months... I was down to 138 in September/beginning of October, I was doing really well making and achieving my goals. I was exercising regularly and trying to start a life in a new city. Things were looking pretty good....
My mother passed away on October 7th, and everything just kind of fell apart... I guess that's to be expected. I sept a month and a half back home ( half way across the country from where I currently live) taking care of all of my moms things, and funeral plans. I did a lot of drinking and wasn't the least bit worried about my diet plans, again, as to be expected when you're faced with such things.

I'd say I'm not completely done mourning her loss, I don't know if i'll ever be, but I know it's time for me to start focusing on myself again, and on my health. I find it really hard to not beat myself up about weight gain, and I find it even harder to focus on health, instead of weight.

I know that I need to make my health a priority. My mother had a lot of health problems that were a result of lifestyle choices and not genetics. She was only 47 years old. I don't want to reach that same fate.

So I guess it's time for me to jump back on the bandwagon. I guess it's only fitting since new years is just around the corner. I want to lose the rest of this weight (the healthy way) get more active and quit smoking.

To anyone reading this: What are your new years resolutions?

Wow - that is young for your mother to be gone.

(( HUGS ))

Sorry to hear about your loss!

You can do this.  Focus on you, do it for mom, etc.

For me, new year's resolutions... not sure yet??  Honestly, just make 2010 better than 2009 ended up being.  I've got a net gain for the year, which is "ok" but not ok, if you know what I mean.  I had a rough year too, which culminated with us moving back to my mother's home.  Ugh, but it needed done.
