I've actually really been slacking in the exercise area, too. Ever since we put in the hardwood floors in the living room, I've been finding it hard to do any exercise that requires floorwork - particularly the pilates... I need to get a yoga mat before I can get into things like that. Too hard on my knees/body otherwise.
I have still been eating well, though. I splurge about once a week on dinner out, but typically I'll still try to pick a decent meal. I'm also doing well at cutting out drinks other than my water and V-Fusion - I do drink sweet tea or a soda on Saturday afternoons with my lunch at work, but that's it.
I haven't weighed myself in a while because I know it won't be pretty. I don't think I've gained (if I have, maybe a pound or two), but actually seeing that I've not lost anything in the past few weeks would suck.. even if I know it's true in my mind. lol
I bought a pair of "goal pants" a few weeks ago in Target. They were in a size just out of my reach - but they were five bucks and really awesome.. couldn't pass them up!
I haven't weighed myself in a week, and last week I'd only lost one more pound, so I'm waiting a while before updating my weight tracker.
I bought a new workout dvd.. MTV Pilates.. it's the second one, I think. You get to customize your routine.
I've also discovered the Fit TV channel that we get via DirecTV - which has plenty of shows to give me some variety. I'll have to check those out, since I haven't had a chance to yet.
Foodwise-- I'm still hanging in there. No soda, and only sweet tea on 'special occasions' - usually once a week. Other than that I drink water or V-Fusion.
I've been eating a lot of fruit lately.. oranges and pears. Yum. Now if I could just get some good cherries....
Based on my entry title, you'd probably assume I am having my visit from AF... and you'd be right.
But it's a good thing.. because it came "when it was supposed to", and this could mean I finally found a birth control that regulates me! I'll give it a couple more months to really see the results, but for me to have started only a couple of days after taking out the ring... really good.
But um. This blog is not for birth control - this blog is for weight loss.
Since I am cramping like crazy, I've toned down the exercising, but I'm still doing *something* because it actually helps calm the cramps down. It's only when I'm sitting on my butt or laying down that I actually notice the cramps...
We had a really good lasagna last night, and I definitely had some - but I kept the portion down. That's the key, right? Small portions in moderation and you can still have the foods you love.
I have been doing my little workout every day, except the weekend. I'm out of my funk. All is well.
I was a little disappointed that after two weeks, I'd only lost two pounds. It's definitely because of all the eating out we did while we were painting the living room, so I'm hoping to see something more significant in the next two weeks.
I need more ideas for snacks. I am hooked on mandarin oranges.. and I also have cherries in the fridge. Then I found these snack size bags of kettle corn popcorn - I think Pop Secret makes them. Only 100 calories a bag, and you do get a fair amount of popcorn in them.
I keep forgetting to take my multivitamin, which sucks, because I can totally tell the difference when I forget to take it now. I just feel more sluggish/tired when I don't take them.
I feel like I don't update this thing often enough. Ah well..
I've been busy painting, so I haven't done any exercising over the weekend, but trust me... I was still sore because painting for us was a workout all its own.
My shoulderblades.. arms.. legs.. phew.
I did do about 30 minutes of cardio and a little toning yesterday, so that's pretty good.
The unfortunate thing is that I ate out a LOT over the weekend due to no one wanting to cook. We had pizza (which wasn't too bad - I just got cheese pizza and had one piece).. picked up dinner from Ruby Tuesdays (crabcake burger).. picked up dinner from Zaxbys (a chicken caesar salad that was probably horrible for me - but I did cut back on the dressing and skipped the croutons).
Yesterday for lunch I tried the Sesame Chicken south beach wrap. Disgusting. I do not recommend it. lol
As for where I buy them - they're in the refridgerated section of the store... not the frozen section... but where they keep cold cuts and such.
The V-Fusion is really good - I have the strawberry banana flavor.. and haven't tried the others.. but if this is any indication, I'd recommend it.
The South Beach wraps consist of two small wraps and a sugar free cherry jello (which I throw away because I can't stand jello). The fat varies, from 9-13(!) grams.. the calories also vary, from 210-230.
I'm not too worried about that, though, since the Lean Cuisine pizza things I'm used to are around the same fat/calorie value (well, the spinach and mushroom pizza of theirs that I love is either 7 or 9 grams of fat, I forget).
The wraps come in many varieties - I've only tried the chicken caesar (pretty darn good), and yesterday I picked up a sesame chicken. You put them together yourself, so if there's an ingredient you want to leave out.. that option is always available.
Oh yes.. I am still sore today. lol I didn't do the exercise dvd yesterday, opting instead for something low impact - walking.
I am going to attempt the dvd again today, since I know I just need to get my muscles used to the work again.
Elyse, I really like the Fit To Strip DVD - it's the second in the Carmen Electra series. It's more of an actual workout than her others... the one I'm getting next is just for fun (Lap Dance/ Hip Hop).
I bought a lot of snacking foods yesterday when we took a quick trip to the grocery store. A big ol' thing of V-Fusion (the V8 that tastes more like fruits than veggies, since I can't stand regular V8) - I hope I like it. Some wrap ingredients (I found an awesome cheddar and jalepeno shell).. and I also saw some South Beach chicken caesar wraps that I wanted to try.
I mainly went to get some cherries since they were 2.99 a pound, but when I got to the produce section, they were NOWHERE to be found. Not even a sign for them. Gur.
Maybe this will keep me more motivated to exercise and keep eating right, since it's a little more public. Plus, there will a support that I wasn't getting on my own.
I really want to join up at a gym.. my sister has offered to add me to her plan, if possible, to save me a bit of money. That would be very cool, and then I'd have someone to go with me.
Working out at home just isn't as 'easy' as I thought it would be. The motivation isn't there like I assumed it would be. I want to go walking every evening, but Chris doesn't want to do it, and I hate the idea of walking alone. Lame, right?
I already have a head start, of sorts, since I've managed to cut WAY back on my soda intake. I've been drinking a lot more water and I found a multivitamin that I can actually swallow (my pill-phobia is crazy, but it exists). I have noticed a difference since the change, and it's made me want to keep going on this track.
I am going to try not to weigh myself for two weeks. I've heard you should wait a month - but two weeks is all I think I can wait. ;)
