Update on funky weigh-in
I had my hubby weigh in the different spots that I weighed this morning and the ONLY one that was accurate (even for multiple tries) was the one that showed a good weight loss for me! So I'm going with that! And going to try harder this next week! And definitely a new scale in March!

Funky weigh-in
So the scale has been acting up- by that I mean it's hard to find the same weight. I'll step on it and it'll show one thing, step on it again (same location) and it's a different number. I'll move the scale thinking maybe the floor isn't level- and the same thing happens. I finally found a spot where the scale was consistent and that's the number I went with. However, that shows a 4 pounds weight loss. Possible, I have been eating well and exercising more... but maybe not...
I went ahead and got on the Wii Fit to weigh- clothes on vs. the no clothes with the other scale- and it shows a 5 lb difference. A PLUS. That would put me as gaining a little since last week- which is also possible- since I didn't "feel" like I'd actually be losing.
So.... I don't know. I'll keep doing what I'm doing and see what happens next week. I'm also going to look at my scale and see if it can be recalibrated. I can't buy a new scale until next month (no extra spending allowed this month). So I guess we just wait and see!

Beautiful weather!
It's been cold and snowy here lately. The temps have just recently gotten into the double digits after time in the negatives! Yesterday was the first day it was actually warm enough to go out and play in the snow! Today my oldest daughter and I walked to the park and back- it took a little under 40 minutes to walk the distance. The park is about 8/10 of a mile down the road and it took us 15 minutes. We had to watch out for patches of ice and it was still cold and windy this morning when we went. It warmed up nicely though and by this afternoon the whole family got out! The youngest on his bike and the three girls on their scooters! We ended up walking to the park, letting them play for a while, and then walking back. It was nice!
I feel like my weight loss won't be good- I feel like I'm eating a lot, but when I review my calorie consumption at the end of the day it isn't bad. Guess time will tell. I think my body is adjusting to having more fiber- whole wheat pasta, potatoes, whole wheat biscuits.

Hmmm....?
Ok, so this might be tmi, but ever since I had whole wheat pasta the other day my stomach has had times where it's hurt- mostly gas though. It has done it pretty much since then, but I've had other carbs and I wonder if there's a connection. I've had whole wheat biscuits and potato soup. Hmmmm....

Goals and other randomness
Whew! Just got done doing the free step on the Wii Fit. Over 3000 steps in 30 minutes! Nice sweat going on now! LOL
So I've been thinking about some summer plans that will aide as a nice "goal date" for me. One is in July- my 10th anniversary and our family trip to Yellowstone. That's about 5 months from now. The second is in August when we go back to Arkansas to visit family. We moved to Nebraska in December and this would be the first time back- and for some of our family- the first time to see them since moving.
If I lose 5lbs a month, I could be down 25-30 pounds.
If I lose 10lbs a month, I could be down 50-60 pounds! (OH YEAH!)
For July I'd like to see my weight between 235-260 pounds.
For August I'd like to see my weight between 225-255 pounds.
I'd love to see it on the lower end... or even LESS, but I think the wide range might help- less stress than an EXACT number!
Let me lay it out... Say I weigh 245 pounds when I go on vacation- that would be a total weight loss of 58 pounds. If I weigh, um..., 233 in August, I'd be down 70 pounds! NICE!!!
So... what is my plan of attack?
- Finish the month out with no eating out/no refined sugar
- Decide on a new "goal" for March
- Stick to my resolution of no soda for the year
- Eat more fruit at lunch time

It's that time again!
Down about 2 pounds! YAY!!! And tonight's The Biggest Loser! Love Tuesdays!!!
What am I doing? I'm eating no refined sugar, trying not to snack after dinner, drinking only water, milk, and the occasional glass of "not from concentrate" juice to take my vitamins with. The next big hurdle is to watch my portion sizes. I ate THREE whole wheat biscuits last night for dinner- I was hungry, but I need to fill my hunger with better foods. One or two biscuits might have been okay, with the eggs, but then why not a piece of fruit? Or a veggie?
I'm slowly changing my thought process here! It's a slow journey, but it's going to be SO worth it!

Woohoo! Weigh-in results!
After a crappy weigh-in last week and dealing with "that" time I am tickled with the scales this morning!!!
Down 3.8lbs!!! I love when the scales are nice to you- it gives you that extra boost to keep doing it!
The total lost for January (starting on January 6th) is 11.2lbs! GO ME!!!
The total lost in about 6 1/2 weeks (since keeping the blog) is 15.2lbs!
Can't wait to watch The Biggest Loser tonight.... So disappointed in last week's showing!

Sugar
I've done the Maker's Diet before. Once, exceptionally well. The other times, okay. The biggest things I've always focused on was calories. I've counted calories before- I've compared calories before (say... do YOU know how many calories are in that Big Mac?). So I don't really know why this time sugar has been the focus. I'm in the middle of phase 2 and I'll weigh in tomorrow. But I've been researching the whole refined sugar biz... and honestly, it's ASTONISHING! Do YOU know how much sugar is in THAT?! Seriously! Just Google it! You'll see how much we consume of sugar vs. how much we are suppose to get (as in, it's okay to get). You'll see all the reasons refined sugar is bad- and HELLO! Obesity is a reason!!! Anyway....... The other day I actually measured out teaspoons of sugar for something my hubby had ate and it BLEW. ME. AWAY! I think it blew him away too! lol It was WAAAAAAAAAAAAAY over what was "recommended". So, ever since this I've been on a sugar kick. Literally everything I see creates this giant RED ALERT sign in my brain and translate it into a pile of sugar! So, I decided to go one month without refined sugar. Starting today! So between now and March 1st I will be consuming NO REFINED SUGAR! Should be interesting... and hopefully healthy! LOL
On the other side, as a whole my family is working at cutting out as much refined sugar as possible. High fructose corn syrup is a big factor. We're also going to be more diligent when we shop and buy things that are low in sugar to start with.
Oh- and one more thing- I'm NOT about aspartame or equal or anything like that. THOSE ARE POISON!!! We will sweeten things naturally- honey or Stevia.
I hope I feel better tomorrow... I've been battling a cold these last couple days... Lots of fluids and vitamin C. So far I'm not taken any OTC meds... Just natural remedies and I'm doing okay!

Tuesday's weigh-in
Well, I gained a few ounces. Nothing major and nothing surprising. I've been less than good this last week, but I'm back on track now. It's also beginning to be "that time" so I'm feeling run down and exhausted! Not motivated to exercise. Anyway, I anticipate the scales to be moving (down) next week... We've added kefir to our diet and are *now* sticking strictly to our Phase 2! lol We even added a few days to the end of the phase to make up for our "not so good" days. So, I'm okay... I added a few Netflix workout videos and am set to go!
Have a good Tuesday! Happy Biggest Loser watching!

Weighin' in!
Down 2. 6lbs! WOOHOO!!! And since starting The Maker's Diet and doing the first two weeks (aka detoxing) I've lost *almost* 9 pounds (I'm .2 shy!). It doesn't matter though, the weight is coming off and that IS what matters! I've been faithful to exercise (Just Dance, walking, or even Wii Fit) and I'm being diligent over what I eat! Tomorrow completes the first two weeks and both my hubby and I are excited! More variety!!! Sweet potatoes and oranges are probably what we are longing for the most!
Looking forward to the Biggest Loser tonight! Love that show!
