Day 4 and start of day 5
I got a call from the nurse on saturday, I am border line diabetic, it could still go either way, what I don't understand is if I have it or not, my new understanding is that I don't have it yet. (I just spoke again to a different nurse after I wrote that) They just kind of let me hanging there. She said I don't have to do anything yet, I thought I had to check my blood and stuff like that. My mom just found out she had it, they said that they just came out with new levels that are lower than before. I don't know anything about it so I am sorry if I am confussing some one.
My intention for going on this "diet" was to teach my self how to eat so I could get the lap band, but I started excersizing and figure I could do it my self, I don't need to do something so extreme. I feel better now than I have in a long time.

Why....
are you saying you can't lose weight because you're diabetic? I know a few people who are diabetic and they CAN lose weight and then they are no longer diabetic. I think you need to come up with a plan, do some exercise and you will see that the weight can come off! You just have to want it really bad and have the willpower to say no to your temptations. I honestly believe that 1000 calories is way too litte. Yes, someone who's stomache has been shrunk to a tiny size can handle 1000 calories, but not you.
I started WW at 247.4 and i'm down to 229.8 in 6 weeks. That's almost 20lbs........I think that if it's really important to you and you really want to lose weight you can do it! I would seriously look into doing WW. You don't necessarily have to go to the meetings, but the support and the accountabiltiy are VERY helpful to staying On Plan! If it's too expensive you can go to the first few meetings for like 12.00 a meeting and get all the paperwork you need and try to do it on your own with the support from your friends here at extrapounds. I did that in the past and lost alot of weight. I just think going to the meetings is more effective for me!

Hang in there
Hey, my hubby has been diabetic for 26 years and I have had it with 3 of my pregnancies. The best thing for you is to lose the extra weight and eat healthy. Your number could change with just doing that.
BTW, did a doc put you on a 1000 cal diet? That seems very low, although I too, only have some day when I eat 1000 calories, I still don't feel it is a healthy thing to do.
Oh and my daughter Kia is 5 months old.

No not current
Those were my before/after pictures from the last time I did my "Don't change your outfit diet". My starting weight in those before pic was 185 and I am currently 176. The after pictures I was around 140-I ended up getting down to 136. I will be there again this summer. I know I will-I HAVE TO!!

Awesome
that you were able to join WW online! I use it and use the etools too They ahve great recipes too.
About the thyroid issues, I can relate there as well. Last time I did WW and lost 35lbs and was at 198 and well on my way to goal and then I was diagnosed with Thyroid Cancer, a very rare kind called Hurthle Cell Carcinoma, I had a huge goiter in my throat and it was like a puffy frog throat. Well 2 surgeries later I am now without a thyroid gland and take 200 mcg of synthroid every day. I was so stressed out and scared to hear the c word that I used it as an excuse to eat whatever I wanted and not workout as well as my thryoid being non-existent so my metabolism was very slow and all my 35lbs came back on along with about 12 more. UGH!!!
I am happy to say that 2 years later I am still cancer free and I am finally back to working out and eating healthy and losing weight again. YOU CAN DO IT TOO!!! Even if it's hard to lose weight because everything is slow, you can still lose weight slowly. YOu have to change your mindset and stop saying that you CAN:T and start telling yourself that you will.
I am a firm believer in positive thinking. If you think you can, than you won't, if you think you can, even if it's slow and hard, you will!!!
I don't meant to sound harsh and i'm only here to support you. I was where you are now and thought, that's it...i'm just going to be fat, unhealthy and miserable for ever......as long as I thought like that.....then that was my reality....now that isn't even an option for me! I will reach my goal weight and I will be happy and healthy and NOTHING will get in my way! XOXO
