MOVED

Hi all!

I've MOVED my blog.

To much spam around these parts. Feel free to friend me if you decide to move as well!

Challenge Not Accepted

Sorry, guys and gals. I canceled my spring challenge group.

Only a couple people joined up and I just felt like I would rather close it down.

Sorry.

Weekend Catch-Up

Anyone else sick of all the spam blog posts on the front page? What is that about?

It's not to late to join my Spring Challenge! I guess no one is feeling motivated right now?

Anyway... I had a good and introspective weekend this past few days. It was busy (very busy), but good.

Friday night, I got home and hubby and I got take out and caught up on t.v. from the week (this is rapidly becoming our Friday night "default" date).

Saturday, my girlfriend picked me up for WW and we both weighed in and attended the meeting. I was up 2.4 pounds, but considering I hadn't weighed in since February (seriously!) and the wedding/honeymoon pig out, I figure it's all fair. I'll get that weight off in no time!

After WW we went to Panera for breakfast. Yum! And then Lover's Lane (I needed a bachelorette party gift). Hehe! A quick stop at Petco for the aminals and we were all set.

Saturday night, I had my cousin's bachelorette party. We went to a pole dancing class. Let me just say, the entire right side of my body is one big bruise, and all day yesterday my arms were like jello. That was a GOOD workout! Holy moly!

Also? My sister and her boyfriend got a puppy! He's super cute and so far a really good dog! They named him Zeppelin. The two of them need a little help as puppies are a lot of work, but I made them a shopping list and they haven't killed him yet, so that's good. I'm sure they'll be fine.

Sunday, hubby and I lazed around and then went to Kohl's. After that, it was my sister's boyfriend's birthday, so we went over there for pizza and cake.

I figured out my points for EVERYTHING!

Monday night, I went to the gym and ran 30 minutes, paid some bills, and then hubby and I headed out for dinner. We had a Groupon so not to bad! After I got home, I mostly finished up the Thank You cards from the wedding. Just need stamps and a couple of errant addresses.

Tonight, I've got to run a couple errands after work (gas, grocery store, post office). Dinner is one of the dinners I didn't make last week (corn, green beans, veggie riblets), and then I'll work on my thesis for a while.

Lots to do this week:

To Do
Finish up Thank You cards
Write 5 pages of Thesis Proposal
Bleach bathroom
Work out 3x  (already got 1 workout in!)

Happy Tuesday!

Coming to Grips

Well... my case of grumpies got to me last night.

I binged. An entire packet of one of those instant rice side thingies was consumed. As well as a king size package of reeses peanut butter eggs.

Damn you, Easter candy!

I've mentioned my dog before. He's pretty much awesome, but he has a lot of health issues. Numero uno is allergies.

It is currently spring. Allergies are very bad in spring.

My poor dog has itched himself into a frenzy. He's got scabs from scratching himself bloody! He also has a skin infection. I have spent, literally, thousands of dollars on injections and "cures" and medicines. All to no avail. He itches and itches!

There is only one medicine that makes him feel okay for any length of time, but it is a dangerous medicine to give long-term as it has all sorts of awful side effects.

Wednesday when I got home from work he had itched his legs bloody so I went to the vet for ointment. Thursday, he slipped out of his cone (he has to wear one when we're not home so he doesn't chew his feet) and chewed on his feet all day long. Today he is limping because of it.

So... I was in an upset mood last night. And it's not like I can take it out on a dog who doesn't know any better. All he knows is that he is itching and that I'm a bad mom because I don't let him itch as he would like too!

I bought him a new cone yesterday that is supposed to be more secure. I hope it works.

I took out my frustrations on food. I had a healthy dinner. And then... just stopped caring. Boo!

I tracked it all and I did manage to fit it all into my "week." But it doesn't make me feel good to eat that much stuff. It makes me feel ashamed and out of control and guilty.

Boo!

But, today is a new day and so far I am succeeding. So, there is that.

Weigh-in is tomorrow. I will own up to whatever the scale says. Good or bad.

That's that.

Grump

Short post today. I'm grumpy.

Yesterday was mostly fine:

Wednesday
B - oatmeal w/ pb & coffee (instead of oatmeal had a banana)
S - fruit (plums)
L - veg chili, ff cheddar cheese, bread
S - fruit (oranges), string cheese
D - green salad, green beans, red potatoes, veg riblet
(emergency vet visit -- the reason I'm grumpy -- means I stopped and picked up veggie sushi instead of making what I planned. It's not the end of the world, but it's not fun either.)

Gym - run/jog 3 miles

Food is packed for today. Dinner is at my parents tonight (I think?) I honestly have no idea at this point. Hubby is supposed to help my dad move some furniture and I know they will want us to stay for dinner, but I really don't want to.

I'm tired and grumpy and my whole study schedule got thrown off last night so I need to make it up.

Bleh.

Sticking With It

Yesterday was another good day! When I got home from work, I was greeted to an Edible Arrangements present! My good friend had sent hubby and I a wedding present of some gorgeous fruit. Yum!

I munched on some fruit while making dinner. Then, after dinner, hubby and I took our little dog for a walk. Yay me!

After dinner and the walk, I was supposed to work on Thank You cards, but I didn't get to it. Honestly, it will probably have to wait until this weekend. But that's okay.

So... the agenda for today is work, gym, home, dinner, study! I can do it! I need to finish up my notes on one chapter and then read another. Probably about an hour and a half's to two hours worth of work tonight. But hubby is going to his friend's house, so I'll be okay.

The meal planning this week has been helpful. I think next week I will have to schedule in one or two fast food type meals, though. Last night I started dreaming about Potbelly's and how badly I wanted a sandwich for there. Oh well. I'm doing good this week, I can have Potbelly's next week!

Here's how yesterday shook out:

Tuesday
B - oatmeal w/ pb & coffee (added a banana as well)
S - fruit (mango) (subbed mango for pineapples and blueberries)
L - lean cuisine, mixed vegetables, crackers (had a ww cheese wedge, too)

S - fruit (grapes), string cheese
D - rigatoni w/ marinara sauce, side of broccoli, green salad
S - 3 chocolate covered strawberries & a handful of Cheetos
(These were not on plan, but I still tracked them, so I suppose that is a plus. Cheetos have been finished though, so they won't tempt me again!)

Walk dog 1.5 miles

All in all, a pretty good day. Minus the extra snacking. I'll live. Today's lunch and breakfast have been packed according to plan (plus one banana). Dinner might get changed just a bit, but we'll see.

If you haven't joined my Spring Challenge yet, please do so! I think it will be really fun!

Happy Hump Day!

Join My Challenge!

Hi everyone!!

In the spirit of Raspberry's challenges, I've created a new challenge. Check it out!

It's open to everyone and is an 8 week challenge that will run from April 16th through June 4th!

I hope to see everyone there! Just click to join!

Chugging Along

Monday's successes! Thumbs up means I stuck to it. Thumbs down means there was some trouble. Red is something I didn't eat entirely. Blue is something I subbed in or added.

Monday
B - oatmeal w/ pb & coffee
S - fruit (grapes)

L - veg chili, ff cheddar cheese, bread

S - fruit (oranges), string cheese

D - veg sausage w/ peppers and onions sauteed in olive oil
(Hubby accidentally left the sausage in the sink, instead of in the fridge, to defrost so I had to chuck them. Instead, I had 2 veg corn dogs and a big mixed green salad).

Gym - run/jog 3 miles (only got in 2.25 miles)

After dinner last night, I spent about an hour studying (brought my text book to study at lunch, too), then packed my lunch for today. After that, I sprawled on the couch with my itchy doggie. He's really bad right now. I'm not sure what to do. I soaked his feet on Sunday. I'll probably give him another bath tonight. Poor baby.

Anyway, today (so far) looks like this:

Tuesday
B - oatmeal w/ pb & coffee (added a banana as well)
S - fruit (mango) (subbed mango for pineapples and blueberries)
L - lean cuisine, mixed vegetables, crackers (brought a ww cheese wedge, too)
S - fruit (grapes), string cheese
D - rigatoni w/ marinara sauce, side of broccoli, green salad

Walk dog 1.5 miles

After work, I need to stop at the gas station and the convenient store. Then, I'll swing home and prep dinner. Before I cook, I'll walk the dog. Then it's time to eat and work on the thank you notes!

Hope everyone's week is off to a good start!

Check Me Out!

I am still jet-lagged, but I knew that would be the case. Last night I set up my coffee, made my lunch, laid out my clothes, and packed my gym bag.

Preparation is key.

Yesterday I made a big pot of vegetarian chili for the week. I chopped some vegetables. I took some pasta sauce out of the freezer. I am prepared.

I know what I will be eating for each and every meal this week!

Monday
B - oatmeal w/ pb & coffee
S - fruit (grapes)
L - veg chili, ff cheddar cheese, bread
S - fruit (oranges), string cheese
D - veg sausage w/ peppers & onions sauteed in olive oil

Gym - run/jog 3 miles

*I walk my dog every day, but these are extra walks on top of the minimum amount of walking he needs. My little doggie is a couch potato, so a little extra walking won't hurt him.

Anyway... I'm happy for my plan. It gives me something to look forward to and takes the guess work out of the week. WooHoo!

I also plan to write the thank you notes and work on my master's thesis this week.

There is plenty of time to do all of this stuff. Trust me!

Happy Monday!

I'm Married!

Hi all!!!

I'm back! My wedding was fabulous and I could not have imagined a better day!

I don't have many pictures back yet, but I'll definitely post a couple as soon as they get here.

Now that I'm back to life and the real world, I'm back to tracking everything.

Preliminary results suggest I gained 3.5 pounds on my honeymoon. Whoops! Oh well, no feeling guilty about it. I won't track any weight until Weight Watchers this Saturday, so we'll see then.

I'm excited for the spring and summer. I'm job hunting (shh... don't tell), I'm working on my master's thesis, we're trying to sell our condo. Lots of stuff going on, but I feel strangely in control.

I think it's the fact that now that the wedding is done I have so much TIME. I didn't realize how much of my energy our low key wedding took up. Seriously.

I'm working on my thesis right now, munching on some fresh pineapple and just relishing in the gorgeous weather and the exciting summer coming up.

I hope things are going well with all of you!
