100 lbs GONE!
I did it! FINALLY! Since my weight loss journey began on Jan. 1, 2006, and a pregnancy in between, I finally hit that 100 lb mark! 8 more pounds to go. WOOT WOOT!
And I'm so happy that I'm under my pre-pregnancy weight (granted, it's only 2 lbs less but still!) And I fit into all my size 12's clothes. Size 10 here I come!

Buh-bye Elliptical, HELLO AMT!
I have a new favorite work out machine as of this week...the Precor AMT (Adaptive Motion Trainer)! OMG! I love this thing.

It is a complete body work out. You can change the length of your strides, hence changing what muscles you are using. It can be used as a stepper, treadmill, and elliptical! Best part is, it adapts to you as you move. No buttons to push..if you wanna go shorter strides, do it...longer strides..do it! The only thing I adjust is the resistance.
Our Y got these in last week and I have been using it all week long. I call it the "Baywatch Machine" cuz it's like you're on the beach..doing that slow-mo running in a swimsuit (remember that? haha) Other people refer to it as moon walking. Nah, I'll stick with mentally picturing me with a Baywatch Babe's body in a swimsuit, tata's bouncin while running. :::snicker:::
I thought I sweated doing the elliptical? Pffft! This machine has me drenched in sweat within 10 minutes! I have been going 40 minutes on it with a resistance anywhere from 10-14 (depending if I'm just stepping or gliding). I can burn 525 calories and go 4 miles in those 40 minutes on this beast!

Slacker!
Whoops! Totally slacking in the blogging department. Oh well!
I was stalled out there for a bit, kept going back and forth between 172 - 175. I finally did a fitness evaluation at the Y including body fat percentage. I talked with 2 trainers and we changed up my exercise routine a bit and added weights back in. That was last week..and I was weighing in right around 174-175.
Now, I'm at 170.6. It's amazing how changing up your exercise routine makes a difference! I also changed up my eating during the day. I now drink my shake for breakfast, EAT lunch, and then a shake for supper. This way, I'm not working out on a full tummy like I was before. Eat, then workout. ICK!
Oh yeah...body fat percentage wasn't AS bad as I thought it was gonna be. 32% body fat. I'll be going by that from now on instead of BMI that some random website "says" this is what you are at. Umm..how do they know exactly what your BMI is? Just cuz it's "supposed" to be at that..at a certain height and weight, doesn't mean that's what you are actually at! For instance, my BMI is supposedly "27" according to a website. Uhhh...no it's not. HAHA
Anywho, the trainers put a goal for me to get my body fat down to 28% to start and then finally to get it to 24-25%. I'm gonna go back in 6 months for another eval. to see where I'm at.

Oh Scale, why do you hate me?
Or should I say, Oh body, why do you hate me? Last week I weighed in on Saturday and was at 171.5, but didn't record it cuz Mondays are my weigh in. Monday I weighed in..at..ready....174.5! W..T..H? 3 lbs in 2 days? And I didn't even cheat! Either my scale is broken or my body just hates me.
So, I'm changing my weigh ins to Saturdays. HAHA! Today I'm at 172. Which isn't too bad considering I only got to the Y 3 days this week (Mon, Tues, Wed) and burned 625 calories each time.
I'm sick, yet again! I have a nasty sinus infection...which got so bad that my DH had to drive me to my Dr. appt. yesterday cuz my head was hurting THAT MUCH! Seriously, it was like someone was jabbing an ice pick straight into my brain.
After Wednesday's work out, I thought my head was going to explode! The pain and pressure was unreal, I knew something wasn't right. So, now I'm on a strong ass antibiotic for the next 10 days. I just want this pain to go away so I can exercise again. It's already a lil better, so I'm hoping I can start back up on Monday with my exercising.
I just don't understand why I keep getting sick? I'm eating very healthy (lots of fruits and veggies) and exercising. DH said it's just a very bad time of year for sickness, cuz everyone has something it seems. I think I'm gonna start taking vitamins too.
Good news tho: I went shopping last Saturday and bought a size 13/14 jeans from Maurices and a size 12 from Old Navy.
I can "technically" fit into all my pre-pregnancy size 12 jeans, if I like my stomach to look like a butt! HAHA That's why I'm confuzzled as to why these Old Navy size 12 jeans fit??? Must be made differently.

Is it spring yet?
Seriously!?! I am so sick of this cold, snowy weather and the sickness that comes with it. Our whole family has been sick for the last 10 days with a nasty cold virus. Abbey ended up getting an ear infection along with it. I think I have one too, but I don't wanna go to the doctor! I'm soooooo sick of the doctor's office. I took both kiddos to the doc last Monday :(
So, this past week, I had to cancel the kids korner at the Y, cuz there was no way I was going to take them to the Y to get other kids sick, and them even sicker. I rearranged my work out schedule and worked out when DH got home. Working out in the evening sucks! Cuz, not only is it busier than all heck at the Y, but I have to sit and wait all day to work out.
But, I did end up working out on Tues, Wed, and Thursday. Nice thing about working out at night is that I can just up and leave (no packing of the kiddos haha!) and I can work out longer and not look at that darn clock.

Jammin
Gettin into my workout groove..finally! I worked out 3x last week, and starting my 5x this week. I forgot how good it feels to workout and have that "exhausted/but awesome" feeling.
I just reprogrammed my ipod with some new songs...most of them A Capella from the group Straight No Chaser. My new fave "band". They rock! I like the original group tho, not the current one. Keeps me movin and groovin! I absolutely LOVE A Capella music.
So, I'm down 4 lbs this week..woot woot! But, I've been VERY strict on my eating and exercising. And of course...making sure I'm getting more than 64 oz. of water a day.
DH let me go shopping Friday night...umm..MAJOR mistake! (By letting me go, I mean..he kept the kids and said..have fun! haha) I spent WAY too much $$$. But it was all stuff that we have needed for awhile. Extra towels, hair scrunchies...etc. And I got Logan a Bumbo. He's still a lil too young for it, but he'll grow into it.
Off to go shopping again today..for odds and ends..ya know..the boring stuff!

Feeling Better
The gastroenteritis has finally left our house! Thank GOD! That was just terrible. I wasn't able to eat solid food until Friday. Now that I'm re-hydrated and have food in my system, the scale went back up to 179. Which is a good thing, because losing 4 lbs in 24 hours is not a good thing, considering it was prolly all fluids and what not. HAHA
I worked out yesterday and it felt good! I was rarin' to go from being cooped up in the house for a whole week. I did 45 min. on the elliptical...HARD! I had that crossramp up to 12, resistance at 8, and 170 strides per minute! The machine said I burned 600 calories...hmmm, it felt like more to me. haha
I currently have the kiddos scheduled M, W, & F from noon - 1 at the Kids Korner at the Y so I can work out. I want to work out 5 days a week tho, so I talked my mom into coming to our house on Tues. and Thurs. to watch the kiddos while I go work out.
So, starting next week, Tuesdays and Thursdays will be my "hard" work out days that can go longer than an hour.

Gastroenteritis SUCKS!
This has been a weekend from HELL! First the kids started puking early Saturday morning, along with myself. I only did it once, and then was fine, but felt blah. Our lil man who is only 7 weeks old, projectiled vomit, so we called our doc's office and they said to get him in ASAP. So, off to the ER we went. Logan and Abbey were both diagnosed with Gastroenteritis. So, no formula for Logan..he had to take Pedialyte. Abbey started acting fine that night, and by Sunday morning Logan was able to take his bottles again. So..HOORAY! Everyone feels better..right? WRONG!
Sunday @ 5:30 pm, it hit me..and it hit me HARD! I was throwing up like you wouldn't believe. Then of course, it started on the other "end". UGHH I couldn't hold anything down..not even water. Finally, today, my DH made me go to Urgent Care..considering I was curled up in a ball on the floor cramping in my belly, legs, back..etc..and throwing up at the same time.
I was soooo freakin dehydrated that they had to hook me up to an IV and gave me some fluids ASAP. They also gave me a shot of Zofran..it's supposed to help with the vomiting and belly pain. I got a RX for it too. So, as of right now, I'm feeling a "lil" better, but still have leg cramps and back cramps. My electrolites are soooo screwed up!
Yay for a clear liquid diet for me for the next 24-48 hours. Good news is, I lost 4 lbs since yesterday. I was up and down all week and as of yesterday morning I didn't lose anything..that is until this morning! haha
Bad news: I have to stop working out this week :(

Back to exercising!
Today was my first day back to exercising since having our lil man! And HOLY HECK! I seriously thought I was going to pass out. I pushed myself as hard as I was doing before I got pregnant..umm..not a good thing! I kept up exercising for about 6 months of my pregnancy, but I didn't work out as hard...I took it a lil easier. But, I'm rarin to get back to my 70 minutes on the Elliptical!
I got to the Y 15 min late (it's harding trying to get 2 kids outta the house!...this was my first time doing it by myself). I did 35 min on the Elliptical and called it a day. My head was pounding, my face was VERY flushed, AND..my gums and sinuses hurt! WTH is up with that? haha
My muscles felt awesome and I could have kept going, but my heart and face told me to stop. haha At one point I had my heart rate up to 200
! So...I think I did pretty darn well for my first day back! I plan to add 5 min onto my routine every time I work out. So..here's to getting back to 70 min in no time!

And....I'm off!
Doc gave the go ahead on exercising! woot, woot! But, not for sex HAHA I asked him for that in writing
I'm some what healed, but very tender so..no nookie for me for another 2 weeks. The doc did tell me to watch how I stretch tho after my workouts.
So, I am now setting my ticker for my "Official weight loss". 24 lbs came off in these last 6 weeks after having the baby. I did keep up with my Slim Fast shakes for breakfast and lunch the whole time, but didn't really watch what I ate for suppers.
Friday kicked off the official diet, and I actually lost 2.5 lbs since then. But, not counting that. So, 16 more pounds to go til I reach 165 (where I was before I got preggo), and then I want to lose 10 more (original goal I set). Total of: 26 lbs to lose.
I still can't believe that I lost 98 lbs before! And I still can't believe that I let myself get up to 263.
I'm sure it will come off slowly, cuz I need to tone and firm back up. Come back ab muscles, leg muscles, arm muscles...etc!
