Goals

This is my 3rd post today - when I get on a roll with posting, then I just keep blogging.  I can be very word-y.

Ultimate goal weight : 105, by August

I'm resigned to the fact that I probably won't get down to 100 or even 105 (since muscle weighs more than fat and I've been unfortunately blessed with muscular thighs and calves).  But I know that if I can get down to 110, I'll look skinnier.  Which is just as good - perception is reality, right?

Temporary goal weight : 115, by May 10th

We're going to a ballet thing (a festival/workshop thing we go to every year) in May.  It's in Washington state this year and I'd like to not be so chunky by then.  Plus, I need to stop the bingeing and with me, it's all or nothing.  So I have to do this (which may seem extreme to some people, but that's the way it has to be).

Unfortunately for me, I don't have much time to exercise.  Between work, commuting to work (which takes about 1.5 hours each way), ballet and sleeping... plus, I'm lazy.  I do like bouncing on my trampoline, though - we've had that for ages and a while ago, I saw an infomercial for the Urban Rebounder.  And I really wanted to get it because all of those "As Seen On TV" things are always super cool.  But our trampoline works perfectly fine.  It's just that it's out in the garage and sometimes, like Tuesday when it rained buckets and yesterday, when it was late, I just didn't feel like going out there and braving the cold.  Okay, I know, 50 degrees is not really "cold" but it is to us Californians.

Day Four

I've spent a lot of this week sitting here.  There is work to be done, but I just can't figure out what.  And besides, it's not urgent so it can just wait until next week.

Tomorrow's a holiday - hurray for that!  Boss is making his group come in for their weekly meeting.  Sucks for them.  I even asked, since the univ is going to be closed.  And he said "yeah, tell them to come."  Hah.  If I were them, I'd be like, uh, sorry, made other plans.  It is Spring Break, after all.

I'll probably take ballet class in the morning tomorrow, and then one or two in the afternoon.  Plus rehearsal.  I should bring dinner (something small) so I can eat it sometime between class and rehearsal.  We'll see.  I always feel a bit weird eating at ballet.  Not because they're all skinny or have eating disorders or something (although they are mostly skinny, at least skinnier than me, and some of them do talk about how "fat" they are all the while wearing size zero jeans) - but because I feel like they look at me and think "wow, you'd think she'd be skinnier since she eats fruits and yogurt and stuff.  But look at her."  Seriously.  If only they knew what I eat the rest of the time...  One girl, who is naturally thin and tall, (I don't like her too much anyway) asked once "Cookiebandit, do you eat healthy?"  I was like "god, no."  That seemed to surprise them.  I really wanted to say "if I did, would I look like this?"

Day Three - Disaster!

Well, the psyching myself out of snacking didn't work - I did 15 minutes on the elliptical (rather than the trampoline).  And then I ate a chocolate chunk cookie.  And cashews (I love those).  And green grapes.  And mixed nuts (like almonds more than walnuts).  And Reese's Puffs cereal w/ milk.  And Girl Scout Trefoil cookies (3).

Lovely.

Day Three - Summary

Eek, I need to get off the computer and do something... I feel like I'm about to go for that chocolate chip cookie or those cashews.  Better drink some water and go bounce on the trampoline.

It's hard keeping track of calories when meals are typical "American" food.  For dinner, we had dim sum.  Yeah, go try finding the nutritional information on that.

Anyway, hopefully, tomorrow will be a better eating day.  We shall see.

Day Three - Thwarted

Darn those so-called friends at work.  They asked if I wanted to go to lunch with them so I did.  I should have said no or go but bring my yogurt instead of wasting my money.  And wasting calories.

I ended up getting chicken strips (3) and french fries.  Not the healthiest thing at all.  Too bad it's spring break because the choices were limited - either burgers/fries, mexican food, pasta/sandwhich.  Maybe the pasta and sandwich would have been good (I could have saved the sandwich or something).  They've also had sushi there before - although that wouldn't have been cheap, it would have been healthier.

Arg.  So now, I only have about 234 calories left for dinner.  Yeah right, that's going to happen.  Hopefully, I can keep dinner small (maybe some chicken and lots of veggies) so I won't have totally blown my diet...

Day Three

Woke up with a sore throat, runny nose, sneeziness, watery eyes, the whole bit.  Took an allergy pill (I take these every day, even if I don't have any symptoms - great, now I'm a pill popper) and a cough drop and voila, I'm feeling fine now.  Well, my eyes seem a little dry, but other than that, I'm okay.

Boss is back in the office today... needs help with his notebook computer again (he's had it for three months and is always asking me to fix things like the slow boot or the black spots).  Does he think I'm a tech person?  Well, I can figure stuff out on computers and all, but I'm not really a techie.  Besides, I have better things to do than listen to you whine about how slow the system is.

I've been eating well (healthy - no binges) for the past two days and drinking plenty of water (8 cups a day) but I feel bloated.  It's not a good feeling - I don't like it.

Day Two - Summary

Day two - yummy, fried chicken.  I know, not exactly healthy (especially since it's from a fast food place) but hey, as long as I don't binge, I'll be fine.

I'm going to do some yoga, watch some tv and then head off to sleep.  Mmmm, sleep sounds so good right now.  It rained all afternoon (took forever to get home on the freeway - a half hour commute became hour-long), plus my jeans and shoes were soaked (well, just the front of my jeans, around the thigh area).  And I had to pee, but thanks to the rain and traffic, that had to wait longer than I would have liked...

Day 2

Rainy morning (but not too bad).  I was walking and trying to tuck my iPod shuffle into my jacket so it wouldn't get wet, and then I almost sprained my ankle thanks to the messed-up sidewalk.  When are they going to fix them?  I think they're from the '94 earthquake - that's over 10 years ago!

Anyway, I think my ankle will be okay.  Hopefully.

I want to weigh myself, to see if any progress has been made, but I know that the number on the scale won't be an accurate representation (since it's only been one day).  I want to see that tracker Pacman move, baby!

Day 1 - Summary

Well, Day 1 is done.  Did pretty well with the food (ate plenty of veggies and fruits all day, plus a bit of protein).

Took two ballet classes today (as I do on Mondays).  Had a bit of a headache (didn't get to sleep on the bus today) and I was a little "quiet" for the second class.  I wore new pointe shoes for the first class (Sansha Lyrica 404) and they were a bit painful, but not as bad as other pointe shoes have been before.  I think I'm getting a blister on my baby toe (right foot).

But anyway, it's time for me to go to sleep.  Gotta get plenty of z's.
