Put a little windex on it?

I was reading and replying to blogs when i realized one of my favorite movies was on...My Big Fat Greek Wedding...if you have never seen it...you probably wont get my title. Basics, the father thinks putting windex on EVERYTHING will make it better.

I have been having a horrible day. It was my payday. My first check from my new job...*holds envelope eagerly...opens it up..WTF?? They didnt record almost 30 hours of work I had done. And my paycheck was crap. I spoke to the manager..ohhh, it will be on next weeks check.. Um, next week doesnt pay the bills due today. The bill would have been paid but we took that money, to buy me black pants, and black shoes which are mandatory for the job. So logically thinking...it balances out...my check comes the last day its due...WRONGGGG...they mess my check up. So after crying most of the day thinking my hard work has gone to waste, and that I somehow put my family at risk (by bill not being paid) because selfish me needed shoes. I then, sat here with my bottle of water and said...ya know...F it....and thats when it hit me.. Put a little windex on it. Whatever in my world makes things better just do it. That use to be eating a pint of ice cream and chasing it with reese cups...But no more!! I find myself wondering, I took my copeing habit away, what do I use now??

So, whatever it takes in your world for you to cope..."put a little windex on it"  Replace the old habit with some new "windex"

Great Outlook

I LOVE THAT MOVIE, I always talk about the bundt cake:) Great job on looking at a horrible situation with a better outlook. By the way I believe legally they have to pay you prior to next weeks check; however, employment law is different with every state. You might want to speak to them and let them know that you need the money to see if they can make an early payroll run and cut you a check. They would have to do this if they fired someone for example so it should not be impossible to do. Thanks for the comment on the photo of my son and I. I am in love with those photos. I have a 24 X 30 of just him hanging above my fireplace - they are a constant reminder of how little he once was. Today he is 6 months old, my how time flies. Good luck, and way to go on positive coping skills, I hope to be as successful as you.

I'm sorry!

Windex...must remember to try that!

I hope you get your paycheck straightened out (hugs)

i'm going to go buy a case today!

Windex....if only I had known before!

I'm an anxious worrier, so I can relate. But, as your windex window reminds me, what doesn't help more than a little sense of wry humor.

Take care of you and congrats for letting go of your old coping habit! That's a big accomplishment.

Funny

We bought that movie.....I do love it.

That is terrible about your paycheck!!!!   They should have to make some kind of amend to you.  I am a worrier about bills also.  It is not a good feeling.   Maybe I need to get the windex out!!!      You did awesome in not drowning the misery with food!!!!

Blessing to you for strength.   Chargail

Oh man...

That's tough! I'll cross my fingers for you this week. It's hard to eat healthy on a budget. Stay strong!

Windex

I'm sorry about the check mix up - but, at the very least, it is giving you an opportunity to sort of recommit to your weight loss. In the end, everything will work out.

P.S. my sister got stung by a bee the other day and I put some windex on it, and viola! No more pain. It was pretty funny.

Great outlook!

I love that movie! I'm sorry about the screw up with your paycheck. Can you talk to payroll and explain that you need the cash this week and not the next? Call the company that you owe the money too and explain the situation. Sometimes those companies are meanies but most of the time they will want to help you out because in the end they just want their money and helping you out is the best way to get it. Can you tell I have too much experience with late bills? Here's to a banner week!

Movie

I love that movie!!  It would be great if I could put a little windex on my belly and I would be thin!! LOL!!!

I Hope...

...everything works out.  Perhaps you could ask for an advance on your next cheque?  It couldn't hurt to ask.

Enjoy your day!

Angel

Well....

I haven't seen that movie, but now I am going to have to!! Your post was incredibly cute today, despite the check being short. ((hugs))

thinking of you there

I'm proud of you for not giving in to the old coping techniques, we're all having to relearn, retrain ourselves aren't we..  I'm sorry things got mixed up with your pay check.  Maybe you could ask them to cut another check for you and explain that you were counting on being compensated on this check.  I'll be holding a good thought for you, that even if you do have wait, things will be okay.  I'm not sure what payment is due but you could call them and see if they could extend your grace period??

sending you a hug and thoughts for a brighter day, love the windex idea :))

Spritz Spritz

Congrats to you for putting a little windex on it instead of the food intake! I also love that movie!

I love that movie

Our favorite place to eat is this great itlaian/greek restaurant and I swear the father in that movie is the owner Tony!! HA HA They are great and treat us very well!! Of course we are in there every week!!

Sorry about your paycheck. Thats a real bummer for sure

GRRRRR!

You just HAD to mention Reeses cups didn't you.....lol.   I forgot I had some in the fridge so I went and ate two of them.  That's better than the four or five I used to eat I guess.  I guess I need better coping skills.   Hmmmmm....I never thought of Windex!

I hope you got your check straightened out.  Of course by now it's almost your next payday!   There's no excuse for them not paying you on time.  Companies just don't seem to get that people have bills that need to be paid.

Sorry about your check

that has to be very annoying! I was just stressing over bills today myself. It seems there is never enough money. I am glad you are doing well on your weight  loss. Hang in there it will get better!
