Can you say....I put on a bathing suit for the first time in over 4 years! Yes, Shamu was stranded on the beach! No, on the serious side...I was very surprised that the bathing suit fit! And all except for The Twin Peaks..which I call Mount Everbreast. It didnt look too shabby! Hub is facing a crazy 2 weeks at work, so we took the day and headed to the beach. Packed a picnic, toys and spent a couple hours as a family!
We got to the beach, and I thought...omggggg, I am going to be the biggest girl out here! And once I started having fun with my kids....it didnt matter. I was just a mom enjoying the smiles and laughter. For once, my weight just didnt matter!
On the way home from the beach, I got the bright idea...lets to shish kabobs for dinner...hub and I made beef and chicken kabobs with red, yellow, and orange peppers and mushrooms. we marinated the meat in lemon and orange juice..gave it a nice summery taste! I was impressed the way it turned out..And not very fattening. Woohooo!!!

I always hate putting on a bathing suit but I do it for my daughter. Like you once I get out there and start having fun with her it doesn't really matter whether I am the biggest person on the beach or not.
Glad you did it...who cares what you look like. I've always seen bigger people out there than me everytime I wore a bathing suit - although I do enjoy having a private pool (if you know what I mean ) - just makes things easier! Your shish kebabs sound great too.
shish's sound gooooood. Might have to try that one too. Why dont you just put out a coobook? LOL at this rate I will have all your stuff written down and made into a book for you! Glad you had a good time at the beach. I tell ya some of the women here who wear two peices...well lets leave it at just plain scary, so hey if they can do it then you can wear your bathing suit too!

...For putting on that bathing suit. I had not put on a bathing suit in almost 6 years until I signed up my son for a baby swim class last summer. I hated the idea of wearing one but I decided that it wasn't worth depriving my son of some fun because of my own embarassment. I'm glad I did it, I had so much fun.
It sounds like you guys had a really great day, and the kabobs sound like a tasty idea. Maybe I can throw a couple of those on the grill this weekend at the family BBQ so I won't be tempted by the dogs and burgers galore!

Awesome! I haven't worn a bathing suit since I was a small child. I wish I had the confidence to do that- maybe some day! I used to work at nursing homes and it always reminded me that when I'm at the end of my life, I will cherish the memories of having fun in a bathing suit on the beach with my friends and family- I won't cherish the memories of staying at home inside for fear of anyone seeing my body. Now all I have to do is apply that knowledge... I am proud of you! Keep inspiring the rest of us!

Good for you for putting on that bathing suit and going to the beach. I still feel very self conscious on the beach but I can't have fun if I worry too much about it. Just go and have fun! Life is too short!
