Hope this blog finds you all well today! My husband left for work really early this morning and he woke me in the process. Dont ask me why, but I started watching The Biggest Loser! Something one of the trainers said..Kinda kicked me in the gut. (in a good way)
He said (loosely, not a direct quote) That we need Empowerment. You need to enable yourself to take back the power from the food and love yourself.
Me being the Nerdo that I am..went and looked up the term Empowerment...
Empowerment...1. to give authority 2. Enable 3. Promote self actualization.
We are all on the journey to give ourselves back the power. I think we all need to find that self love. I know some of you say.. Oh, I love myself...But the real question is...Are you happy with yourself, and love yourself? I am sure most of us can answer NO. Thats where the empowerment comes in...Giving ourselves the authority and ability to love ourselves and to take back our happiness!
Ok enough of the deep thinking Gail. Here is the fun Gail.. I told my son today...I love you baby...he said I not baby..My name is Peyton..(gotta love 3 year olds). Anyway...the song I wanted to post is...LL Cool J's Mama said knock you out! (no im not going to knock him out but boy do I feel like it sometimes!)
I hope you all have a terrific day! And do something for you today!

Don't call it a come back! I've been here for years! Here's your link to your song. When you are posting, you highligh the words where you want your link to appear. Then you click on the icon in the toolbar that looks like a globe. It's two to the left from the smiley icons. Insert your link. Then click on the tab to the right labeled Target. The pull down menu under Target, you want to choose New Window (blank) That's how to insert a link. I've already inserted the link to your song in my comment, but you can go back and edit your post and insert it there too if you want.
Okay, yeah, that was deep again! I the word empowerment!
While I do love the core of myself, I think it's also okay to want to change things that we can to better ourselves. I think that losing weight will do that for me. But yes, I love me, just not my rolls!
I love that. My middle girl's name is Rebecca - we call her Becca but not Becky, but only close family can get away with it. She considers it a "love" name that only close close friends and family can call her. Anyhow, when Becca was about seven, we went to visit my brother in law and his wife, and the wife said, "come here Becky" and she had a FIT. She said, "It's not Becky, it's Becca, and for YOU it's RUH-becca!"
Thanks for taking the words of the guy on "Loser" and spreading them out further into the world. I think that many people could use to know just how much more powerful they really can be. We often just don't realize. I like the independent thinking I see in your little boy and Mathlady's Rebecca. The more we let our kids know it is ok to be who they are and to feel what they feel and to have their own thoughts and opinions, the more powerful they can be. Then, we can look at them and learn it all over again.
Did the new season start yet? I'm confused. I tried looking up on NBC but don't see anything about a new season yet. I've been wanting to watch it since I miss the last season. I should rent one from Blockbuster to catch up.
This was a wonderful blog...and you are right...EMPOWERMENT!!!! you pumped me up for the day thank you :) I have an almost three year old and I know exactly what you mean!!!
We are all on the journey to give ourselves back the power
Yeah, we DESERVE to be happy. I think we all love ourselves, it is just hard to LIKE ourselves. You have motivated me to list one thing daily that I like about myself....I think I can do that!
i have to say that you entry really made me think. I have been slipping a bit, no gym and I stopped writing EVERYHING down. I have maintained, mabe lose 1-2 lbs, over the past 3 or so weeks. Reading your blog today has given me a kick in the butt so I can get back on that diet & exercise train.
I like that quote. Empowerment. I have always acknowledged a battle with food but I never would accept that it had a hold over me. Looking at it that way does make more sense and even though it is a "kick in the gut" it makes me feel a lot better to admit that I am powerless before food rather than think that I'm just a fat girl who loves to eat for no reason. Great blog!
that is some really good thought for today. i love that show, the biggest loser. did you hear suzie and matt are pregnant? i'm not sure if they're already married but i saw them on a talk show the other day. i can honestly say i do love myself, not all of me but i'm getting there as i take the power from the food. thanks for stopping by my blog!! =)
Hey sexy! Now you know that a spinach omelette isnt all THAT bad lol. Use a lil pam instead of butter, use organic eggs, low fat cheese....wahhhlahhhhh. Guess what I had today? BE sure your sitting for this one. I ate........SALAD! Yep sure did, and learned i dont like cucumbers, greenleaf lettuce, romaine lettuce or dressing. LoL i made my own the good seaoning roasted garlic and herb...had that lettuce up there ^^^ and spinach, scallions, carrots, cheese, sunflower seeds and a lil tiny bit of bacos. It was ok, so I am gonna start eating it once a day. Kyle wants to play around with dressings til we find one I like. Thousand Island is on the list cause i like it on burgers. Anyway, just thought I would share that shocker with ya lol. Love ya!!!!!
