Before After

SO MUCH BETTER! :)

Good morning :)

I went to the doctor last week on Thursday because I'd gotten so dehydrated.  After he made me do a barium swallow (really gross to puke barium by the way! LOL).  It showed my stoma was only 3mm wide - or about half the size of a pea!  Geez! No wonder nothing would go down! LOL

I was pretty upset, but the doctor decided the best thing to do was take all the fluid from the band completely, which opened up my stoma to about 14mm.  Let me just say - I have NEVER been so relieved so instantly or so happy to drink something!  WIthin hours I started feeling better.  It took me a couple days to shake the weak feeling, and I'm just really  getting over the tenderness in my stomach, but I feel so much better.  Now I'm just hungry all the time! LOL  I've actually gained back 6lbs - the doctor said it is all fluid that I had lost and if I go according to the tanita scale I had lost 11lbs of fluid.  So - it's a gain I expected, though I had no idea how dehydrated I really was or that it would mean 6lbs of fluid coming back on me. Oh well...feeling better is worth it!  I'm eating right so I have no worries of it coming back in fat! :)

I went to the gym last night for the first time in a week and a half. I'm glad - and while it was great, I wore down easier than usual.  When I'm going at it hard on the eliptical I feel my stomach getting tight and tense - it's strange.  So I just slowed down and raised my resistance some.  I only managed a full 30 minutes, but it's better than not going and I figure I'll work my way back up to the hour I've been doing.  Truthfully, I've missed going to the gym mentally.  It's become my daily escape and stress reliever. I have been so highly stressed out over work, kids with bad grades and difficult finances so getting in there last night just gave me 30 minutes of mindless stress relief -working it off mentally as well as a little physically.  I am so glad - I really needed it!

Barium tastes awful going down, I can't imagine it coming back up!  I can't believe the doctor let it go on for such a long time considering how badly you felt and that's an insane amount of water to lose.  Regardless, I'm sooo glad to hear that you're feeling better!  =)
