Motivation
For the past few days, I've been searching the web for things that are motivating. I've been reading weight loss blogs, watching YouTube videos, and reading every thing I can find on living a healthier lifestyle. I've come across some really extreme diets, exercise and eating!! I'm still amazed at the depths that some people will go through to lose weight. The media really does take advantage of those of us that are trying to lose weight. You can always find a new exercise machine, video, diet, or magic pill that all promise fast weight loss with little effort. The reality is...there's not a quick fix or an easy way to do this. Living a healthy life takes work!! Now, all you have to do is decide if you're worth it. I know I am!!

Encourage Yourself...
I was reading an article the other day on
iclassygirl.com. You can find it
HERE if you're interested... It was all about your attitude and about encouraging yourself. My favorite thing that she said was "...cause whether you think you can or can't you are right. Therefore, think YOU CAN!" Basically, if you believe you can, then you CAN!! If you are always negative about this healthy journey, then your results will be just that...NEGATIVE!
So, after reading this, I am going to work really hard at changing my attitude about this journey. I am going to turn my negative thoughts into positive ones. When the scale doesn't budge and I want to give up, I'm going to think about how my body is not only changing on the outside but it's also getting healthier on the inside. When I'm tired and don't feel like exercising, I'm going to remember how good I feel afterwards. When I'm sore beyond belief, it just means that my muscles are developing and getting stronger. When I choose a healthier meal although my friends are eating something I'd rather have,

I'll remind myself that this is my body and I want to take care of it.
I was so excited after reading that article! It was just the motivation that I needed! I hope that you will read it too and get a little inspiration of your own.

Slow but moving down
Well I've only lost 4 lbs since I started in January but I'll take it. I've always lost weight so slow!! Guess slow is better than not at all though. :) I'm looking forward to a new week of challenging myself so stay tuned.

Down 2 more lbs.
Got on the scale this morning and I was down 2 more lbs. Honestly I wasn't expecting to see a loss. You know how you can just tell sometimes if you've lost weight or not. Well, this time I felt kind of heavy, so I was pleasantly surprised to see my number go down.!! YAY!!
It's been a long week and I'm tired, so I'm calling it a night. I hope everyone has an awesome weekend.

Zumba
So, I finally broke down and ordered the Zumba DVDs. I started out with the Basics DVD which basically broke down each of the dances. Challenging but fun!! Today, I did the 20 minute express workout and I was sweating. I get to laugh at myself trying to do these moves while getting a good workout in. It's even funnier to watch my 7 year old try to mimc my movements!! LOL!!

Down 1 lb.!!!
It's only 1 lb., but I'll take it. I actually didn't weigh myself until Tuesday morning, so down a pound in 3 days is pretty good, I think. I know I worked hard for it, so I'm excited!! This is just one small step on my way to a healthier me!!

Late Night Munchies!!
Now, you could say that I already know the solution to this problem...GO TO BED!!! I'm horrible at getting a good night's sleep, which leaves me prey to the LATE NIGHT MUNCHIES!! I've struggled with this before and honestly, if you stay up until midnight or later and your last meal was at 7pm, then DUH...you'll get hungry again. 5 hours is a long time to go without eating, so I guess I should go to bed now!!

Starting over...AGAIN **sigh**
Hmmmm....this title sounds familiar. On the positive side, at least I never give up!! I really am tired of going on this journey over and over again. Hopefully, this is my time to get it right. Stay tuned!

The Holidays are Here!! AHHHHHH!!!
The holidays are right around the corner. This is the time of year when I usually fall flat on my face!! I'm actually kind of nervous about being able to resist all of the temptations that come along with the holidays. The actual Holidays are not the problem. The issue is all of the potlucks, homemade desserts, etc. that everyone brings to the office leading up to the Holidays!!! Honestly, it's already started!! Just this week (and it's only Tuesday) there has already been German Chocolate Cake, pie, and Chocolate Chip Pound cake. The scary part is that it gets worse!! Add the cold weather and the darker days and it's easy to slip back into old habits. When I get off work and it's already dark and it's cold, all I want to do is come home, eat dinner, find a blanket and a book and call it a night. Of course this is not the right attitude when you should really be exercising!! ((sigh))

OK, vent over!! So, what do you do to get through the Holidays?
