Down one pound first week back at Weight Watchers
Hello, everyone, I am planning to post every Friday to show progress, even though my main focus is the Weight Watchers site right now.
My first week on the new Points Plus plan, I lost one pound. My goal is one pound per week; so I'm on target. I was a little disappointed but to be honest I did a lot of "cheating" this week and didn't work out as much as I had planned.
That all changes immediately! I have surgery coming up again (four weeks from today), and I'd like to lose another eight pounds by then. (If it's only 5, so what? I'll take it!)
Cheers and have a GREAT weekend! (carole)

Rejoined Weight Watchers: 1st week: Down 2 lbs.
Hi, everyone, I'm focusing on Weight Watchers now. Rejoined on Sunday, January 8 -- down two pounds after one week. I will be reporting weight as any increments rounded up to the next whole pound.
Right now I'm learning the new Points Plus system. I have purchased the Deluxe At-Home kit and will be attending meetings on Thursday afternoons (very close to my work). I am all fired up for this!
I will try to post every Sunday to report my progress.
Have a GREAT week, everyone!

Post-Holiday Weigh-In on January 7, 2012: 166.0
Hi, Everyone, HAPPY NEW YEAR! Yes, I'm back (again) and beginning a new resolve to make a fresh start. My goal is still average one pound loss per week. I will try to check in every day, if possible. Cheers to all!

Scale said 163 this morning! (Reporting as 164)
Hi, Everyone, So today ends week 3 of my new resolve that started 11-11-11. I am losing steadily, even though I haven't been able to work out that much due to infections and surgeries. I did do Zumba today however, and it went quite well. I'm so glad I went.
I had an extensive MRI this morning so I'm hoping on my follow-up visit (Monday, 12/5), they will be able to tell me what it is and what should happen next.
I am logging all of my intake very diligently on www.myfitnesspal.com, which is open to everyone who would like to review what I've been eating/drinking. I have not had a drop of alcohol since 11-11-11 (over 21 days now), and I believe that has helped a LOT. I don't eat late and I don't overeat, and I stick to the best nutrition I can.
Cheers and best wishes for the weekend, everyone!

GOOD NEWS/BAD NEWS...
Good news:
- The chronic headache thing appears to be gone (as of 11/22/11)
- I am staying on plan throughout the Thanksgiving week-to-weekend (so far)
- Weight shows another decrease (will wait to report until Friday, 12/2-next weigh-in)
Bad news:
- Abscess has recurred (but in a different location)
- There may be more than one
- It appears to be more serious than the first one
- Temp was 102.2 and is still running 99-100.
- Cannot see doctor until Monday, 10:20AM
- I am very bitter because they did NOT send me home from the hospital with antibiotics and this now proves the infection wasn't gone and this could have been prevented had they given me a prescription to kill off the rest of it. They will DEFINITELY hear from me on this!
The tub soaks with mineral salts do help. The pain was pretty unbearable until I did this. I plan to take another soak today, tomorrow and Monday morning before my doctor appointment. What a pain in the A**, literally!
Hope your weekend is going well. Will check back soon. Now I'm off to see if any of my friends have new postings. It looks like most of them are taking the Thanksgiving week-to-weekend off, which is fine. I just hope they come back.
Cheers and have a great day! (carole in Boston, xO)

I LOST weight over the Thanksgiving week!
Good morning, everyone, and Happy Post-Turkey Day! Moment of Truth: I am very pleased to announce that I am finally BACK at the 50-pounds gone mark from my highest recorded weight of 215 lbs.! (5.0 lbs. down since 11-11-11.) My scale said 163.2 this morning, which I am recording as 165 (still want to add some flexibility for weight fluctuations due to water and hormones, as well as what remains of the holiday season for this year).
Good News/Bad News report: My constant, weeks long headache was finally absent when I awoke on 11/22 and still appears to be gone. The BAD news is I think I have at least one additional abscess which will need to be attended to. I have made an appointment for Monday at 10:15AM but if it gets really bad before then I will have to go to the emergency room (let's hope not)!
I had a great day yesterday with my sister and her family. I am so glad I got to see them! My son had Thanksgiving with a married couple who are close friends of his. He had a great day, also.
Hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving and enjoy the weekend ahead!

Closing out Saturday -- still on track
No overeating and no drinking at all for eight days straight now! The real test will be Thanksgiving Eve (I'll be at my sister's) and on through the Thanksgiving weekend. I plan to work out every day until then and to be very careful, then right back on track beginning the day after Thanksgiving (especially since my next weigh-in is on that day)!
Cheers and enjoy the rest of your weekend! (carole in Boston, xO)

I lost (at least) four pounds this week!
Hi, Everyone!
Happy weekend! Just did my weigh-in after week 1 of my
11-11-11 kickstart, and I am down at least four pounds! (170 to 166) I say "at
least" because the scale actually said 164.8; however, I gots ta have a little
leeway for the Thanksgiving feast, ya know?
I think I can keep this up; I really do. I've started
exercising again too.
Cheers and best wishes to all from carole in Boston,
xO

Day Five of Fresh Resolve: Still IN there!
Hi, everyone, despite a recent blood pressure scare that landed me in the emergency room on my most recent kickstart date 11-11-11, I am still here and still staying in line.
I have Zumba toning tonight; so I hope I'll do well. I have been keeping a food diary and it's difficult to stay under 1,300, but I'm hoping with increased activiity levels resuming I will still be able to lose an average of 1 lb. per week.
Have a great day, all!

My LATEST (and GREATEST?) Kickstart: 11-11-11
HEY, Everyone!
It's a brand-new day, and a brand-new era! My health is on the upswing (hopefully), and now that my health is improving, I'm hoping to get back on track (and STAY there!) Thanksgiving's coming, along with all of the other holidays; so I'd better get into it now.
Sure, I'm back up to 170 (all-time high was 217, but my lowest on this "ride" has been 156). The way I am looking at it, that's still over 45 lbs. KEPT OFF! So now I'm starting all over (again), and I'm using the auspicious-sounding date 11-11-11 as my "springboard"!
I have updated my blog, weight log and tracker so away we go!
Have a GREAT weekend, everyone! Cheers from Carole in Boston
