December Goals and a look back at 2006

Hello all.  I hope that you all had a fun and productive weekend!

I thought I would take a few minutes to post my goals for the month of December.  First of all, I would like to be back in the 120's in weight before the new year, whether it's at the high end at 129 or somewhere in the middle.  I am currently at 132, so that means that I need to lose 3 pounds this month.  A lofty goal around the holidays, but one that is, without a doubt, attainable.   I would also like to be able to run 9 miles on my long run days by month's end.  What an accomplishment that would be!!  As far as my eating is concerned, I could do MUCH MUCH better, and plan on making better food choices this month.. even with all the Christmas goodies around me.

Now, for a look back at 2006:

I am actually not too far from where I was at this time last year.  In reading my journal, I saw that as of the end of December last year, I was around 135 - 140 lbs.  I had put some weight back on when we moved in Nov. and through the holidays.  I have been struggling with that same weight ever since.  Hard to believe it's been a year.

My goals for 2007:

Run my half marathon in March.

Lose weight and reach my goal weight of 115 lbs

Maintain goal weight without putting it all back on

Maintain new healthy way of eating, without depriving myself of every little enjoyment

Remember WHY I am doing this, so that I do not go back to the same unhealthy habits

are always a good thing.  It's nice that you have those journals to look back on to see where you're at now.

Last year I know that I wasn't watching what I was eating, I surely wasn't exercising...and I just didn't care.  I was still nursing the baby and thought that gave me reign to eat whatever I wanted, whenever I wanted.

But this year I have lost nearly 50 pounds...I've lost my 7 yo.  It's about damn time.  Hee hee.  My goal is that even if it's cold outside (not icy or snowy) I will run my 30 minute run outside.

I know you will do well on your HM.  I am almost to running 3 miles non-stop.  I did that C25K program, but never got to the actual 5K distance.  I am now doing the one-hour runner program that coolrunning has.  So I think with my next long run (38 minutes) I'll be at or beyond that 3 mile marker.

Anywho, just wanted to check in with ya.  And I know all too well about having a scarce Christmas.  Last year I didn't even put a tree up so that the kids would get all excited for nothing.  I am putting one up this year, but it'll be one gift per child.
