The chocolate cake story.......

Good morning everyone,

I know I mentioned yesterday that I would tell the story of the chocolate cake that turned me off from sugar... so here goes:

First of all, let me start off the story with a little background.  My hubby and I have been separated for a couple of months.  We are "together" now, but not living together again yet... looking for a place.  Hopefully we will be living together again next month.

Ok, so anyway..... November 11 was my son's birthday.  He turned 12.  We had an awesome chocolate cake (the boxed variety) with white icing (the Duncan Hines variety) and it was yummy.   We celebrated his birthday at my husband's apartment.  After we went home, the cake sat on the table for a while.  Then, I noticed the cake plate on top of the fridge.  I just assumed (I know, my first mistake) that he had thrown it away and just put the cake plate on top of the fridge to get it out of the way.  Welll, turns out the cake was still in there.   Monday, I think it was, he decided to throw it away.

When he took the cover off..... ummm, can I just say EWWWWWWWWWWW!!  It was disgusting.  You can imagine the mold and "hair" it had grown after a month of sitting.  Now, don't get the wrong idea about my husband... he is pretty much a clean freak.  I think he just forgot about it.

So anyway, after much reading and watching Doug Kaufmann's "Know the Cause", I know all about sugar and yeast and fungus and what it does to the body, so that cake got me to thinking... If this is what happens to a cake (white flour, white sugar, etc...) in a controlled temperature environment, imagine what happens to it in our bodies at 98.6 degrees.  Now, I know that we have the ol' digestive juices and stuff that breaks down some of it, but still.... I guess whatever works to gross me out enough to lay off the sugar..., right?

Anyway, I just thought I would share.

The weather here has been beautiful, temps in the high 70's to low 80's every day, but that is all about to end.  The cold weather is coming through.  They say it's going to be 25 degrees Monday morning.  UGH!  I guess I should glad it's actually going to feel like Christmas rather than Easter.... LOL

Have a great day everyone.  Be blessed!  And remember, If God brings you to it, He will bring you THROUGH it.

Weight Loss

 Hello, This is Mary

I am 36 years old with 2 toddlers. My youngest just started day care last week- which still feels a little strange. I haven't had this much time to myself in years. First thing I want to do is lose the extra pounds I put on during the last pregnancy. One of the girls next door has suggested I join her walking group two days a week. After my first pregnancy I lost around 35 pounds using the Herbalife products, but when I called the man that sold them to me three years ago he told me this week he doesn't sell them anymore. He told me to look on the internet. It's disappointing because he was really nice and  he called me regularly to make sure I was using their products correctly. It was nice to have someone checking in with me every week to see how I was and it kept me motivated.

I searched on the internet for someone that sells Herbalife in New Jersey. I found many websites but I don't want
just to buy the products, I want to find someone trustworthy that sells the products so I can also meet them and  get started again.

Could anybody here recommend someone in New Brunswick?
.

Thanks, Mary
