Hotel reservations and related ramblings...
I made hotel reservations today in Atlanta for the 29th of March!
Now I am committed to go run my half marathon on the 30th! We will spend the night the 29th and I'll run on the 30th, then we'll head back home. I'm excited.
I told my hubby today that he has to help keep me accountable during my training. I do great at the beginning of any training and then I start slacking off after a few weeks. I refuse to do that this time. I know that I can do it. I have to do it.
I seem to have a problem finishing what I start.
It's a character flaw, but one I am working on. I know that WHEN I stick to this training and complete my first half marathon, I will feel an even greater sense of accomplishment than I would just finishing the race alone... because I will have overcome something deeper within myself, something I have struggled with for a very long time.
I worked out at the gym yesterday, the first time I've been there since July, I believe. It was a good workout.... treadmill, elliptical and a little ab work. My eating is getting back on track, too. I didn't have breakfast this morning because mornings are extremely hectic at my house. Just coffee. But I had a delicious salad (I just had a Napolean Dynamite flashback..."I caught you a delicious bass...) and water. I brought apples to work for snacks, and I have avoided the huge candy bowl on my desk like the plague. (The candy bowl is a long story... the candy is for the people who work in my bldg, and they would revolt if it disappeared)
Well, back to work. Have a fabulous Thursday!!
