OMGosh!! Why is it so hard...

to stay on track??  I did SO good the first few weeks and now I can't manage to stay on track more than a few days. Hmmm...  Let's try again. I've got 3 weeks left on the island and enough Medi-Grub for a little more than that...I sure don't want to have to mail it, so I'd better keep on track & consume it!

I just got in my first ready-shakes & I have a few in the refrigerator chillin' now. I'll re-re-start tomorrow and see how it goes. I'll have to weigh in the AM as well...I'm sure I'm UP again, I was doing good but as usual life got to be too much to handle for a bit. I think my bod has decided to hold onto some extra water weight as well, since I actually went a few days last week without eating much at all...now it's rebelling and holding onto EVERY last calorie to spite me!  We'll see who wins in the end.

STARTING OVER

I first started Medifast about 2 months ago & should be well on my way to my GOAL weight, but life got hectic (it still is) & I got severely side-tracked.

I'm BACK & I have to stay on plan this time.  I managed to keep my weight down the first few weeks, but then it slowly crept back on as my eating became out of control. So I re-started today at 171.0.  BMI: 28.5 -  I have to say... I've felt HORRIBLE these past few weeks. My IBS was doing so well on Medifast, these past few weeks have been horrible on my tummy.  I've been wanting to start back for quite some time, but I've kept saying "tomorrow", "tomorrow", etc... well, today was 'tomorrow' & I'm BACK!    Time to order a few more weeks of "medi-grub".

It could've been more of a loss this week, but I'm up 0.6 from yesterday, but I'll take it!  I've had a crazy few days and missed 2-3 Medi-Meals two days this week. * OK - today ended up being a bit rough & I snacked more than I should've, mostly pickle chips, but still.  I haven't heard from the hubby in basically 4 days & I really need to talk to him - just feeling overwhelmed and I'm losing my grip on my  self-control.

SO, I missed quite a few MF meals today.  I ended up grabbing a grilled chicken salad at Ruby Tuesday's with Light Ranch though...maybe I can squeeze in one more meal before bed.  But - I'm down to 166.4 today & I have a NEW VAN!!! • Week Two

Sunday, August 6th  I lost a total of 6.1 pounds my first week. (weight today 170.4) I'm thrilled with the results!!  I think I would've done better though, if I hadn't missed a few MF Meals and if I had drank more water. For week two I vow to get in ALL my meals each day & to drink at least 48oz. of water daily; preferrably more but I'm taking baby steps! : )

Tuesday, August 8th   Day 10 - Still going strong!  I've been having more of an urge to eat the forbidden foods these past 2 days: rice, chicken nuggets, hot dogs, baked french fries - all that bad stuff! I have resisted the urge though!! I vow to get all my extra baggage off without going off plan at all, without even one tiny bite of foods that are not on plan. The weight loss is not moving as quickly as I'd like.  So far for week 2, I'm losing about .2 lb a day. Which is still a LOSS, but at this rate it'll take me 174 more days to lose the rest. • TOTAL WATER CONSUMPTION:  48 oz.

    Week One

Sunday, July 30th   Today I began my Medifast journey. I weighed-in at 176.5 this morning. Here we go.... my goal is to lose about 42 pounds. (I'd be happy with 35 though!)

    • MF Meal #1, 9:00am -Strawberry Cream shake - UGH...no thanks!  I couldn't drink it all, only 1/2 of it. How am I going to do this??
    • MF Meal #2, 1:30pm -Oatmeal Raisin bar - that was good!  Things are looking up. : )
    • MF Meal #3, 3:45pm -French Vanilla Berry Oatmeal, pretty good, I think I can handle this one...I keep tasting the same after taste in all the meals, maybe the soy protein? I'm trying to get used to it - it's not horrible, but not sitting well with the tastebuds either.
    • My L&G Meal: 6pm -5 oz. lean ham, salad greens, cucumber & tomato with 2 TBS light dressing.
    • MF Meal #4, 8pm -Chicken Noodle Soup, pretty good! A little chewy; maybe next time I'll blend it up to make it creamier and less chunky.
    • MF Meal #5, 10pm -Banana Pudding- ok. The flavor was pretty good, it was the after-taste that got me. :(

All-in-all, not a bad 1st day. The food was rather good, with the exception of that HORRID Strawberry shake!!  We'll see what the mystery bag has is store for me on day 2!  (I pre-packaged  a week's worth of meals into zipper baggies, so in the AM I'll just grab a bag and go.)

Monday, July 31st   Ok - so I cheated!! I said I wouldn't weigh until Sunday and I snuck a quick peek at the scale - I just couldn't resist. It said 174.(something - for the record, so about 1.5-2 lbs in the first day. :)  Now, no more weighing until the 6th.

    • MF Meal #1, 7:30am -Maple & Brown Sugar oatmeal, pretty good - not liking the smell though.
    • MF Meal #2, 10:30am- Banana Creme Shake, ok- better than the strawberry; still got that after taste though.
    • MF Meal #3, 1:30pm- Peanut Butter bar, YUMM!
    • MF Meal #4, 4:00pm- Cream of Chicken Soup, pretty tasty, no soy protein smell/taste  - pickle spear for snack
    • L&G, 7:30pm - 5 oz. lean ham over salad with 2TBS light balsamic vinegrette.
    • MF Meal #5, 10:00pm- Chocolate Pudding - YUMM!

2 months until my birthday...I wonder if I can lose 30 pounds by then!?!  That'd be one awesome birthday gift!!

Tuesday, August 1st   Today begins Day #3 - I'm doing suprisingly well. A few headaches as my body adjusts, but nothing too terrible. My main obstacle has been cutting out my study-time snacks; it's my way of staying awake to study...now I drink water! : )

I can't trust myself, so I asked hubby to hide the scale until Sunday! LOL He laughed at first, but of course he said he would. He's so good to me! (Love you baby!!)

    • MF Meal #1, 8:30am - Maple & Brown Sugar Oatmeal
    • MF Meal #2, 11:00am- Dutch Chocolate Shake   (YUM)
    • MF Meal #3, 1:30pm - Chili; tweaked it with a TBS of salsa (5 cals) and some taco seasoning; it was ok...not as good as I hoped, but it got better with each bite!
    • SNACK - Ranch Soy Crisps!!  all I can say is WOW!
    • MF Meal #4, 4:00pm -Chocolate Pudding
    • L&G Meal, 8:00pm Denny's Grilled Chicken Salad, minus cheese; with FF Italian
    • MF Meal #5, 10:30pm -Chocolate Mint bar - yummm, think "thin mints"

We were out shopping and got stuck out too late; so we dropped in Denny's but I think I fared rather nicely with the grilled chicken salad and an unsweet tea. The kids' fries sure looked good - but not even one touched my lips! : )  We were out shopping for a Magic Bullet & I got one! I hear they are awesome for mixing up MF shakes and puddings. I think it'll make a difference in the cream of chicken soup too.

Wednesday, August 2nd   Day four - The MF meals are getting easier and easier to eat.  : ) The Magic Bullet, is working like magic!  The shake & pudding were simple to mix & eat/drink today.  Better yet - less dishes to wash! ~ We ended up at CEC's today with the kids so I decided I'd eat my L&G there; they have a salad bar with boiled eggs & surely they have a light dressing. Well, guess what...NO light dressing!  I ended up eating my very first dry salad, but it really wasn't all that bad. : )  Better, yet...I stuck with the plan and didn't cheat or give in.

    • MF Meal #1- 7:30am- Vanilla Creme Shake, o-k - but not loving it. Better get some DaVinci SF syrups!
    • MF Meal #2 - 10:30am- Apple Cinnamon Oatmeal
    • L&G meal - 3:00pm- Salad w/2 boiled eggs, one pickle spear, no dressing
    • MF Meal #3 - 6:00pm- Banana Pudding
    • MF Meal #4 - 9:00pm - Chicken & Rice Soup with pkt of MF crackers - they tasted stale, not sure they are supposed to.  The soup was wonderful though!
    • MF Meal #5 - 11:00pm - Lemon Fantasy Bar, first few bites were iffy, but by the end I loved it. Tastes like a lemon bar.

Thursday, August 3rd   Day 5 is here!  My new friends at Makemethinner.com were RIGHT!  It does get easier and easier to follow and my tastes are truly changing, the foods were not that bad to begin with (except the horrid strawberry shake, that still haunts me - LOL) but the meals are getting better and better with each one. In the beginning I couldn't stand the smell of the soy protein - it made me gag. (I apparently have a very good sense of smell - too good, my DH says!)  Today I realized I hadn't noticed the smell in 2 days, so apparently my sense of smell has adjusted as well. : )

    • MF Meal #1, 8:00am - Apple Cinnamon Oatmeal
    • MF Meal #2, 11:30am - Swiss Mocha Shake - Yumm!
    • MF Meal #3, 2:30pm - Homestyle Chili, with ranch soy crisps for a snack
    • MF Meal #4, 3:00pm - Chocolate Divine Bar, pretty good
    • L&G, 7:30pm - 7 oz. baked tilapia with a salad of lattuce, mushrooms and a pickle spear diced up, topped with 2T light dressing. The tilapia was amazing - I've never had it before. Ironically, it tasted like chicken!
    • MF Meal #5 - Missed it, I fell asleep.

Friday, August 4th   Day 6  -  Today my best friend and the love of my life leaves for a year in Iraq. We'll make it through, like we always do, but it hurts so much to have our family split like this. I have a lot to focus on here right now to keep me busy & my mind occupied. I'm glad he was here with me as I started my MF journey - he helped get me on my way. If I had waited until next week - I'm not sure I could've made it the first few days; but now I feel totally committed!!  My hope is that he returns home to a slimmer, healthier & HAPPIER wife next year. I couldn't take it any longer - I had to weigh!  After I said good-bye to DH, I need a pick-me-up so I decided to weigh myself and check my progress - I'm down 6.4!!  : )

    • MF Meal #1 - 9am, Banana Creme Shake
    • MF Meal #2 - 12pm, Peanut Butter Bar
    • MF Meal #3 - 3pm, Apple-Cinnamon Oatmeal
    • Snack - Apple Cinnamon Soy Crisps
    • L&G - 8pm, 7oz. Tilapia and salad with light dressing

Saturday, August 5th    Woo-Hoo!! Day #7!!  I got a litte off track and haven't been eating all my meals these past two days - but I'll get back on track!

    • MF Meal#1 - 9am, Orange Creme Shake - pretty good, better than I thought. I'm not totally crazy about it, but the wee man kept trying to steal it from me!

    • Snack, 5pm - MF Apple-Cinnamon soy crisps

Week ONE is done!!  : ) What a week it was  -  I'm eager to check my weight tomorrow & see how successful week one was for me. Medifast is truly easy and I'm loving it!   ~ Thank you Hudson for luring me in with your wonderful success I kept hearing about on the radio. You look AWESOME & I hope that one day soon, I will too!

    It's HERE!!

My huge box of MediFast goodies just arrived!! SO, I guess I begin with Day1 tomorrow. I'll weigh myself tomorrow morning and then not again until next Sunday. This will be a HUGE feat for me to pull off, as I'm a compulsive weigher!

So here we go...off to a thinner me!

    Impatiently awaiting....

My 1st Medifast shipment is on it's way and I'm stalking the mailman!  I'm extremely motivated right now and eager to get started. Hmmm.... maybe Monday.

When we left GA for Hawaii in the Fall of 2003, I was at my lowest ever - 140. I refuse to go back to the "mainland" this big!  Sure I've had a baby since then, but he's 21 months old now - I can't use him for my excuse!! (wink) I'd like to be at least 150 when I fly back. Since I've decided to move back wtih the boys while the husband is deployed to Iraq - I now have 2-3 months to lost about 25 pounds; more would be great of course.

    Embarking on a new journey

For as long as I can remember I've always been "overweight".  I first decided to do something about it at the age of 20 - newly married, and about 165 pounds. I started Weight Watcher's. It was SO easy to do - I loved it & the weight was falling off. The accountability of the meetings kept me motivated. A few months later I became pregnant with our first child. No more weight loss. LOL

After baby arrived I tried unsuccessfully to do WWers at home. I needed the accountability but with a newborn I didn't think I could handle the weekly meetings. Life happens & the military moved us, again, and my weight loss was put on the back burner. When my son was 15 months old we discovered I was pregnant again.

I was very determined to get my weight off once & for all after little man #2 arrived and I re-joined WWers when he was just 4 weeks old! I stuck with it - had a few hills to overcome, but in the end I reached my goal!! I was finally 140 lbs. I was thrilled! I loved the "new" me - I felt wonderful.  Then the military moved us again, this time all the way to Hawaii. In the process of the move and taking some time off to see family - eating out, living in hotels, etc... I gained those pesky "last 10" back. I was so disappointed and faced with the reality that my hsband was headed to Afghanistan, I couldn't stay focused enough to get the weight back off. Then...I found out I was pregnant with #3. As soon as he was born, I was back in WWers and quickly lost back down to about 165. Then, in Jan 05', I suddenly found myself in for emergency surgery due to perferatted diverticulitis, essentially my intestines ruptured, and it really set me back - emotionally.  I haven't been able to gain my motivation back. I've tried on my own to lose weight since then, and I managed to spend all of 2005 losing & re-gaining the same 10 pounds. I vowed 2006 would be better, but here I am now, the end of July and at my highest-EVER, non-pregnant weight! I HAVE to do something!!

I'm such a stress-eater and my husband is on his way to Iraq for a year, it's taken a toll on my spirit & my emotions. I VOW to spend his year away, losing this extra baggage once & for all! I want to find the thinner me again - she was so much happier than "chunky" me.

I've heard Hudson on the radio station, talking about her weight loss success using Medifast. I was intrigued...peeked at her site and was very interested - yet skeptical. Does it REALLY work? Is the food any good? Can I do this??  I pondered over it a few more weeks, doing a little web research and some soul-searching. I found MakemeThinner.com and browsed their forum, reading about success, after success, after success...  The men & women there are SO welcoming and made me feel right at home with my first post. On July 24th, together with my husband, I made the decision to place my first order & begin my new journey with Medifast! I hope my husband returns home next year to a new & improved wife!

Now I, impatiently, await my first order!    - Starting Weight: 177.4lbs, with a BMI of 29.6 "Overweight"
