Bummed...
...knee, that is!

When I posted Thursday night after my jog/walk, I was talking about how strong my legs felt, and how much easier it seemed transitioning back and forth between walking and running. When I went to bed Thursday night, all felt fine...not even any IT band pain.
However, when I got up on Friday, I was noticing twinges of pain in my right knee...not constant pain, but throughout the day, the twinges of pain that feel like someone sticking a pin in your knee. I was surprised, because it felt fine after Thursday night. I was thinking that with the cold and wet weather, it might just be the knee acting up...about 4 1/2 years ago, I slipped on some black ice while walking at night in my neighborhood, and busted my right knee pretty bad. No structural damage, but ever since then, I've had some bouts with pain in that knee when the weather gets cold and wet, so I've wondered if I didn't develop some osteo-arthritis in that knee from that injury.
Anyway, since Friday, I've been taking ibuprofen and I iced, even though I really couldn't see any swelling in the knee. Being someone that at my age, doesn't want to risk overdoing it when I have knee pain, I pretty much had decided that 10 miles yesterday(Saturday), might be asking too much, and with it raining, that pretty much wiped out most of the day. Being in peri-menopause, I have nights where I really just can't sleep well, and last night was one of those, so after falling asleep around 3am this morning, I just woke up about an hour ago!
The twinges didn't come as often as the day went on Saturday, and so far so good, since I've woken up today!
I was debating heading to Shelby Farms and walking my 10 miles, but decided a few days rest for my knee wouldn't hurt, and I will start back in with my regular routine on Tuesday afternoon. I have 9 weeks left before my half marathon, and being at 10 miles, should have more than enough time to build up to where I need to, and then taper that last week or two. I was supposed to be out of town in a couple of weekends, but my brother informed me yesterday that wasn't going to be a good weekend for him, so that gives me back another weekend I thought I was going to have to miss. I still feel guilty, because I hate interrupting my training schedule!
I'm going to try to compensate later on today, though, by getting some strength and core training in and trying out my new Bosu trainer that I got at Costco last week that I had been saving up for!

Eating has been on plan for the weekend...I'm "safe" at home, so for me to get off plan, I have to go out, and go get what I would be craving to get off plan!

In the rain yesterday, I did make a Costco run to get some more of my La Tortilla Factory Smart & Delicious Low-Carb/High Fiber Whole Wheat Tortillas, and some tangerines. I am loving these tortillas! I looked for a link on their site to the tortillas I bought, but they still have them as a "new & coming" product, so can't post a direct link...
. From my package, though, these have 80 calories for a LARGE tortilla, 3 gms of fat, 18 gms carbs-12 gms fiber = 6 net gms carbs, and 8 grams of protein! They are listed as one of Hungry Girl's staples, so I was thrilled to find these last week at my Costco! Since these are the larger tortillas, almost every day last week for lunch, I would take one and spread with my Laughing Cow cheese, add either my deli thin ham slices, or cut up chicken breast, and still be able to load with my veggies, and it was delicious, and much more satisfying than some of my pre-packaged frozen meals!
