Before After

Hump Day!

I hate it when you have a Monday off, and then Tuesday winds up being a delayed Monday!  But it was great to wake up this morning, and realize the week's halfway over!

Not much going on yesterday besides it seeming like a Monday work-wise.  I had an on plan day, and even though it rained and drizzled earlier in the day, by the time for me to go to jog/walk, it had stopped (RATS!)...with all the dreariness of the day, and it being cold, windy, and damp, I really was halfway hoping it would be pouring at 3:30.  It wasn't, so I changed clothes and headed to Shelby Farms...I was happy that I at least was going to potentially get in a "normal" workweek of my Shelby Farm workouts as either extreme cold or rain has wiped out at least one of my weeknights at Shelby Farms the last 2 or 3 weeks.

When I got to Shelby Farms, it was cold, windy, cloudy, and a few drizzle drops, and I contemplated just turning around and heading back to work.  LOL...can you tell I just really wasn't feeling it yesterday?  I stayed though, and started out jogging.  I didn't make it 1/2 mile this time...maybe .30 mile...but the damp, bone-chilling wind  was really working on me!  I finished my first mile at a 14:22 avg. pace, but by that time, my stomach was beginning to cramp.  I eat lunch around 1-1:30, so I had barely eaten 2 hours earlier, and I had also made a wrap with a yummy high fiber(12 gms fiber-80 calories!)whole wheat tortilla I had found at Costco, filled with veggies and chicken strips, so I think that all was working on me.  I had hoped to make my 2 rounds of Patriot Lake before having to  make a "pit stop",. but by the time I got back to the part of the trail in front of the visitor's center, I knew that wasn't happening!

After stopping, I was more comfortable, but couldn't really get back into my rhythm after having stopped, so I jogged/walked through the rest of the first 2 miles, and then walked the last 1.34 miles.  Although it wasn't one of my best times at Shelby Farms, I was glad I had gone ahead and done it once I was finished.

Of course, watched Biggest Loser when I got home last night, except for when I flipped over to AI when the little girl from Memphis...Alexis Grace...sang....OH...MY...GOODNESS!!!  She BETTER make it through!  As always, I'm so thrilled with this season of BL and just how well all of this season's contestants support each other!  It makes it so much more enjoyable to watch than to sit with my blood pressure rising like I was every episode last season!

Of course, after a cold, damp day yesterday, it WOULD be beautiful today!  I went out at lunch an hour ago, and it was sunny and 74 degrees with a great breeze...if it weren't for the breeze, it would have been downright warm!  Almost wished I would have brought my clothes to jog/walk this afternoon, because today feels like my good day I had last Thursday!  My legs will thank me though, for not going 2 days in a row...so I'll head back out again tomorrow when it's freezing again!

Hope everyone's having a great Hump Day!

Today

I decided that I am going to do one slow lap around Patriot Lake today.  (Even though I'm not feeling great.)  I can't let this weather pass me by.  Plus, it's getting cold again tonight!

Shelby Farms

This shelby farms sounds fabulous!  I am going to google it and see if i can find a picture :)
Great job on working out despite the icky weather.... just goes to show how devoted you are

Last season's Biggest Loser was the pits, wasn't it?  The contempt and animosity and hatred spewing from those women's mouths almost turned me completely off the show.  I couldn't stand to look at a couple of them.  Thank Goodness this season isn't like that.  I respond better to encouraging people :)
