Before After

It has been awhile...

I have not updated in a long while but I still have been going and going. My MIL had to have open heart surgery and many other things I have been happening but I am still doing the living healthier thing and still planning on being 170 by the end of March.  I have been trying some new classes lately. Last night I did a spin class for the first time and needless to say my bum is sooo sore today... tonight I am doing a step class I tried that for the first time last week and I actually liked it. So I have been doing that twice a week. I have been doing pretty good on my eating I do however need to drink more water. So I am working on that.

I cannot wait for spring to get here. The weather to be more stable so I can get outside and start doing more things. I am still trying to get in at least an hour of cardio 5-6 times a week. I am going to continue switching things up and hopefully I will see a big loss because I am keeping my body guessing.

Well that is the update I am going to try and  be around more but I am not promising anything... I hope you guys are doing great and living healthy...

Drum Roll please

My shark is totally about to eat my little clown fish... I know I know totally off the wall but on my EP ticker the shark is catching up with my clownfish reall quickly. Last night I actually had a nightmare about the shark swallowing my cute little fish whole... what is that about.... am i like really going crazy...

so on to the exercise department I am totally pushing myself.. today I made it to the gym and ran for 45 min... and for the first time I got up to 5.7 MPH and stayed there for 8 minutes so I was really proud of myself I have not ran that fast in well a LONG time. I think if I wanted to push myself i could run a 5K tomorrow because I do that far multiple times a week so I am ready for the race once I hear about one in my area.  So for those that live in my area Mardi Gras was this past weekend and yesterday the gym was closed to celebrate the day.. which i get closing so the staff can take part in the local events but I wanted to run and I got to the gym to find it was closed so I was kinda bummed... but oh well it is over now. I went and played basketball with my son and husband and had fun.  So the moral of the story is PUSH YOURSELF and you will feel better about the task you have completed... yeah the pain sucks while you are doing it but once the pain is gone the feeling of accomplishment hangs around forever... :0

So I am a

mommy first .. right!!!!  So I am so feeling the working out and I have my groove back and I am totally want to kick my butt in the gym... I actually thought about it all night last night... and then I get up and dress for the gym early and get my son dressed for school and it is time to get my daughter up, she is 16months and I knew when I seen her she was not well and of course she has fever.. so there goes the plan... no gym, just me at home taking care of a sick, whiny baby... but I am a mom first and I can adjust my plan so this is not the end of the road just a sharp curve... I will keep going ... I am hoping the fever is just from teething and not something worse... she has an appt this afternoon just to be sure, really do not want a sick kid all weekend so will take her in just in case...I hope everyone is doing well... I am so happy I got my groove back... this upcoming week I am going to kick up the cardio... I plan on going to the gym at least 4 days and doing cardio for 60min a bit more intense than I have been... so there ya go.. I am back in action... :)

Do you ever

feel like you just want to stop trying?  I mean I have worked so far at this weightloss thing and being healthy. It takes alot of my time. I do not have alot of time to give as it is. I do like working out and being healthier but sometimes I want the time back that I have spent at the gym that day. At the end of the day I still have so many things I need to get done but still all I can think about is going to the gym the next day or the weight I want to lose.. losing the weight and being healthy takes alot of time.    No I am not going to stop trying but just for today for this moment  I wanted to give myself credit for how hard it is to change your life. Change is not easy but in this instance change is really good.. I am going now to do some crunches or something... physical...

A whole new world, or something like that...

So leaving the 190s feels great but reach the 170s will feel like over the top. I am looking forward to that. I really had myself convinced that this last week I was not going to lose any lbs, even though I was working really hard and staying on plan but in the end 3lbs is great. I usually do not focus on the number to measure my success but this last week for someone reason I was obsessed with the scale.. glad that is over.

A few people have asked about my workout plan so I will do a overview of what I usually do in a week. Here lately I have been doing cardio for at least 45-60 minutes at least 4 times a week. I do 100 crunches, 50 squats, and  25-50 push ups nightly while watching t.v.  If I have time while my daughter is napping I will do a yoga or really any workout I DVR from FitTV that I find interesting.  Really starting to enjoy this working out thing... hopefully it will continue... hope everyone is have a great week. I know I am.

Have you ever noticed?

That when you are losing weight the place you most want to lose is the last place you lose? I mean my love handles are way out of control but for some reason my hips and my chest are just melting away but those love handles are sticking around. The smaller my hips get the bigger my love handles(spare tire) looks. This bugs me. I know you cannot spot reduce but I just want them to melt away at the same pace or faster then the other fat yielding parts of my body... I am sure under neath all this fluff on my stomach area I have the abs of a body builder so the fluff needs to go away..

On a better subject I have worked hard this week in all areas and I am proud of myself. I have made sure I drink at least 80oz of water and I have eaten really well. I have kicked my butt in the exercise department this week and it feels good to have a positive week. I hope you all have a great weekend.. I know I will...

New week

This last week I did well. I wanted to workout more this week and I did manage to do that. This week I want to try and mix things up and not stick with the same old thing. I am going to add in the stairstepper. I am thinking of getting an exercise ball to do some things at home also. I really want to continue working out at least 4 times a week and this week I really want to improve my eating. I did eat badly but a couple of meals I made a few choices that could have been better but wanted something quick and just ate what the rest of the family was having so this week I am going to be aware of what I am eating and going to make better choices.  Yesterday I sorted through all my clothes and was so excited about the clothes that are now way to big to consider wearing  but also frustrated about all the money waster...but happy to give them to a friend that really needs them. So this week I will eat better and I will work out. I am going to plan on starting to lift weights once I hit 170. I really want to focus on making it to the gym to do cardio before I add in another aspect because some days I barely have enough time to get the cardio in. So there ya go...

I am going

to do this. Today I am focusing on fitting in the size 8 jeans I bought yesterday... You might be wondering why I bought a size 8 when I just fit into a 14 but I had a pair of jeans that I got for christmas that were to big and I did not want to get a pair of pants that would not fit once I reach my goal so I picked size 8. It will motivate me because they are hanging on the door of my closet for me to look at. Now I put these jeans and could not even get them past my thigh so it will be awhile before I am leaving the house with these jeans on...lol    But I am excited that I bought these pants and cannot wait to look awesome in them.

I normall take it easy on the weekends but I already took two days off this week so today Ia m going to run. My husband and I are heading to the local track to take turns running a 400m. I want to do this 8 times at least but it would be awesome to do it 12 times we shall see. I am eating well and drinking tons of water... those eights have totally gotten me on the right track. So when I start losing my motivation please remind me of my size 8's that are waiting on me... hope you all are doing well..... and thanks for all the well wishes with my daughter... you all are great....

Not sure

if today could have been any better. I am serious. I am normally a positive person and I try and look at the bright side of things but the last couple of weeks have been over filled with unexpected negative events and today was the first day in a long time that my family and I just had a normal day without something negative looming over our heads... so i am very thankful for that and hope the trend continues.

SO even better news is that my daughter does not have hip dysplasia her xrays of her hips were 100% normal is that the ped. ortho said. That is totally exciting but still leaves alot questions about her lower body, the main concern is one of her legs is almost an inch longer than the other. The doc says at this point he does not want to do anymore test and wants to see her again in six months to see if it is getting worse because most of the time the other leg catches up and it will correct itself. If the one legs is growing even longer than the other one by the next appt he said we will look and see what our options are. So overall great news, no surgery, no cast.

On the weightloss and healthier me front... I am so kicking butt. I have my fire back. I am beyond motivated. Today my husband and I went to the gym and the treadmills were full which was a bummer but I was not going to let this stop me from doing my scheduled three miles. We jumped on the elliptical and did the cross training for 45 mins and it equalled running I am sure with the uphills and changes in resistance.. it was challanging. I wanted to complete three miles but ended up doing 4.3 and I was thrilled by this. I am so going to do this.. I will be running a 5k in 11 1/2 wks.. i hope you are having a great day also.

Busy Busy Busy

Now that the holidays have passed I have been crazy busy. My son was out of school for a bit and my daughter and I both had a cold but now it seems that both those have passed. Thank goodness.

In the weightloss front I am staying on pace and just focused on keeping moving forward. Today I went to the store and bought a size 14s, they were tight but they will fit my comfortably withing two weeks. I am so excited. I also bought a cute little jean jacket that was a large. Before I started this journey there was a jacket I wanted so badly but the largest size was a XL and it was way to tight but now I bought a Large. So exciting.

So here is the newest development in my crazy life... I am training to run a 5K, I know not super long but I want to run a real race in 3 months. Today I ran three miles at a 5.0 pace and it was hard but doable. I am so excited and think this will help motivate me to run more... go  me.

Now in other areas...we go to see the Ped. Ortho tomorrow for my daughter, hopefully we get some answers.... hope all you EPS are doing well. I promise I will be around soon to check on everyone... all i need is time..lol
