New Day!

Ok, so I haven't logged on here, or really been very strict on the diet here lately. I guess during the holidays, I slacked off, and just sort of let things guy. I still have done my protein shakes, but I've also cheated a lot. I've not gained a lot of weight, I don't think, but I haven't done well losing much more. I'm not sure where I am at right now, but I am going to start keeping track. I know that on Sunday, the last time I weighed, I was at 253.5. I I am going to mark that down as my weight for now. I will weigh again on Sunday.

Reason for that is that I gave up weighing myself for Lent. I had become obsessed with it. I was doing it several times aday and it was what I thought about all the time. Not a good thing.

I certainly don't want to be weird about it, so I'm going to weigh myself every Sunday and mark the weight here.

Long time no write!

Okay. So it has been a long, long while since I wrote anything on here. Not because I wasn't interested, but I really just didn't think that I had much to really put down. I've been bouncing back and forth in the 240's now for nearly a month, and I keep being on the verge of falling into the 230's but something comes up and I wind up going out to eat, or if we play a game or something, or, Like a few weeks ago, I went down to Gainesville for the Florida/So. Carolina football game (GO COCKS!) and wound up drinking a large amount of beer. That wasn't much good for the diet, but it's all good. Not like I have gone and gained back 100 lbs. I'm happy about how much I've lost so far, and look forward to losing that last 19 or 20 lbs.

I went jogging last night, and it was cold and kinda wet, so I didn't do the whole three miles. I'll probably wind up coming down with a cold because of it. When it's cold like that I really oughta just stay in the house and work out on the Gazelle I guess. In any case. We've been playing a lot of Ultimate Frisbee lately. Usually twice a week. Won't get to play this week, one it's Thanksgiving, and secondly, it's supposed to be fairly bad weather this week. Or at least until Thursday or Friday.

Wow, Thanksgiving is already here. Hard to believe that it has come this quickly. The holidays are a killer for the diet. I know that eating will be something I do Thursday, and probably Friday. Holidays. Man. I just really wanted to try and get into the 230s, but worst case scenario, I don't get into the 230's until next week, or next month. Not a huge problem. My goals, as stated before was to hit the 230's in November, and hit the 220's in December. I think that is still do able.

I'll try and do better to keep everything posted here.

Wednesday, Oct 4 Update

Ok, so as it stands, I am a pound lighter than I was on this day last week. That's good, right?

Anyhow, the last couple weekends have been bad, in that we have always made our way out to eat on the weekends. Especially with the "never-ending pasta" bowls at Olive Garden. Not good for the diet, but it's not like I gained back 97lbs.

Was going to mention that in the past week, I learned that I could do a few pull ups. That's pretty good. In all my years, I don't know that I have been able to do any pullups. Oh well. I think it's cool. Ok. I'm gonna run so I can get to work, but good luck to everyonet that's out there trying to lose "themselves."

Wednesday Sept 27-Update

Whew Ho!

Cross into the 240's mark! I weighed in this morning at 249 and that, to me, is awesome. That means that I'm less than 25lbs from my goal. I don't really have much to write about it, but I'm excited. I know that I may blow it tonight or this weekend, cause we have a birthday party to go to, and of course, there is still the never-ending pasta bowl going on at the olive garden this weekend. I think we may hit that Saturday night as a double date with some friends. We'll see.

September 13, Update

I haven't updated here in a few weeks, and I guess that's cause I was trying to not weigh myself every day. Well, that's been fine and I haven't weighed myself until this morning. What I have come to realize, is when I am sticking to the diet, and weighing myself every day, I do lose weight, but here lately, for the last month or two, I have been stuck in the 250's and don't seem to be able to pull myself out of it.

I think what I want to do is go back to being completely strict with the diet and reach my goals.

In the 240's by October, and in the 230's by November, and hopefully, in the 220's by sometime in December. So here, there are nearly 15 days left in September, and I think that I can work myself down to below the 250 mark, if I am strict with myself.

I know I've done well with the diet, and I know there is no reason to stress about getting the weight off as quickly as I am trying to do it, but for 5 or 6 months, I was on a real roll with it, and now it just seems to have stopped, and I guess the issue is, that I don't want it to stop.

So here is my commitment. I am going to go walking/jogging at least three times a week (which means going to get a second pair of jogging shoes), and I am going to strength training to try and get rid of the flab around the belly. :)

So today is day one. I am going to record my weight and it will be recorded every day and keep track of my excersize and everything. There it is.

Update - Aug 30

So today is Wednesday and it is time to check in again with my good friends, page, whatever at Extrapounds.

It seems that every week, I drop one more pound. Well this week, I am maintaining my lowest weight from Monday, but I am 3lbs lower than I was at last weeks check in. This morning I weighed in at 252.

That's three pounds from last week. I wanted to be in the 240's by October, and it looks like that might just work out. So far this month, since getting back on the diet a few weeks a go, I've lost nearly 10lbs.

Not bad. I remember when I started the diet, I think in the first two months, I lost nearly 30 or 40 lbs, but that's what they say, is that in the begining it comes off very fast.

Everyone else that is going through the same thing, "stay the course." It will work for you. If you just stick with it. Don't give up.

Another Weigh-In Day

So let me just say that Sunday was a bad day, in that I ate a couple times, and then we didn't play volleyball very hard that afternoon, which was bad, in that we went out to eat afterwards. I had chinese. So Mexican at lunch, and then Chinese at dinner. So this morning, I feel like I finally worked all of that off. And here I am. Back at my lowest point so far on this diet. 255. Not bad. If I really started at 345 as my begining weight, that's 90lbs i've lost so far. It feels good.

What's great is that Tiff and I went walking/jogging last night, until a storm came up and we decided not to stand out there and get wet. Point is that I can tell when I'm jogging, that it isn't as much of a work out as it used to be.

I wonder what it would be like to add on another 20 to 40lbs and try and work out with that on. Or even to add that 90lbs back on and try and walk or jog with that on. Wow. I am sure that would be a huge difference. And I could tell it right away.

Well anyhow, I'm hoping that Tiff and I will maybe go jogging tonight. I don't think we have anyhting really planned for tonight, so that should work out well.

Wednesday Weigh-In

So I seem to have gone past my last wednesday weigh in with out and update here. Well, I can tell you, I was a whole pound lighter than I was the week before. Slow and steady, right? Well, I went ahead and weighed the past two days also. I am updating the tracker. Today, I was at 255.

I wanted to be in the 240's by October. I think I am going to be able to do that.

I don't know if 225 by Christmas is possible, but I'm trying.

Update August 8

Time for another Wednesday update:

So after I had my teeth pulled, my doctor told me that for the time being, I needed to eat food instead of the shakes that I am taking for my diet, while I am on the antibiotics. So I said, OK.

I only gained maybe 3 lbs at the most and got up to 262 or so.

Well, Tuesday, 8/8/06, I am finally out of my antibiotics, so I started the diet back. I will weight myself once a week, or post once a week to keep track of my diet.

Today I weighed in at 258.0.

We're going to stay in the 250's and then hopefully see the 240's sometime by October.
