Going great
Well, I haven't posted for a while, but just wanted to say that I'm now down 7.5 kg (16.5 lbs) since 1 February. I think I'm going really well and am very proud of my achievements so far!

Well, tomorrow is weigh in day for the challenge I am involved with, and I was really dreading the huge gain (I knew I'd gained 2 kg). But after checking the scales this morning, I'm only up 800 grams now.
My weigh in day is Monday, and I'm REALLY hoping that I can get that 800 grams down.
The funny part is, I had to go off my diet for a blood test - the results are back, and I have impaired glucose tolerance which can be 'cured' with... diet, exercise and weight loss!
Doctors! Really!
... but I'm not going to record my weight today.
Due to doctor's orders, I've had to include a lot of carbs in my diet for three days prior to a blood test. And as the plan I'm on is low carb, It's pretty much all gone out the window.
I'm definitely not giving up. I will get back on track tomorrow after the blood test. And hopefully next week I'll be able to record a huge loss due to it practically being my first week again!
Also, I'm off work today, tomorrow and Wednesday! Yay for flex time.
How did everyone go this weekend?
Good news:
Well, it's not my official weigh in day until Monday morning, but I just weighed in my first week on the 'Make them green with envy' challenge, and I've lost 4.9 kgs (8.8 lbs) so far! I'm so happy with that!
Bad news:
I have to have an oral glucose tolerance test on Tuesday morning, and I have to eat a whole bunch of carbs from today until the test. There goes my low carb, high protein diet. Each day I'm supposed to be eating 2-3 slices of bread, potato or rice, and pasta. Each day! I love my carbs, and it's been hard not eating them, but I really just hope that having to eat them for the next three days isn't going to spin me into a downward spiral.. I've done SO WELL this far!
So, it's 5.50pm, I have a doctor's appointment at 6.15, and I'm going to look at a house (the place we're renting has been sold) at 7.30. I doubt I'm going to have time to do a lake walk then get back here and make tomorrow's lunch, do a load of laundry and still get to bed at a decent hour... I'm wondering, as I slept in and missed this morning's bike ride, if I should just say that Wednesdays are my rest days.
I don't know, I don't know!
My DH just made toast. Why is it that as soon as you smell toast you want toast?? I am not hungry at all, but now I want toast! Hrmph.
PS, today was also extremely busy at work.
They were forecasting huge storms for yesterday afternoon/evening, with severe storm warnings. Because of this, I couldn't do my regular evening walk around the lake... but it didn't even end up raining! They're forecasting big storms for the next couple of days. It's so inconvenient!
I did a second ride on my stationary bike last night to make up for it (I do 20+ minutes in the mornings). 25 minutes and 11.2 kms.
BUT I also woke up late this morning so couldn't get my MORNING ride in. I'm only a week or so in to this. I can't be slipping already!
I've joined the 'Make them green with envy' challenge of the 100 lbs to lose support group. The challenge goes from 1 Feb to mid March, I think. I'm hoping the 'competition' will keep me motivated.
I had a really good day today. Ate on target, rode the exercise bike this morning for 20 minutes and did an hour walk around the lake tonight. In the last five days I've walked/riden nearly 40 kms. Impressive... to me, at least!
How did everyone else go today?
This is my first post.
It's the first day of the rest of my life, so to speak. I've made the decision and I'm going to stick with it.
I have a lot to lose - about 78 kgs.
I'm using meal replacement shakes, healthy lunches and snacks, and regular exercise.
I'm 25, married, employed, Australian, generally happy.
Good luck me.
