Okay, so at the end of my 2nd week on I decided to stick to a low carb diet rather than a low calorie diet. I have much more success managing my carbs rather than managing calories. Which I saw fast results in 2 days on the Atkins diet. I lost 2lbs and got down to 173.
Im still only taking 1/2 the pill (37.5mg) also. I stopped the Prozac I dont think that I need that since Im doing 1/2 the pill.
Going into my 3rd week starting yesterday I took a full pill. I think it helped.
My doctor also suggested that I do more weight training rather than cardio. So I had my body builder son design me a work out for all of my muscle groups. Im working on that. But I do disagree with the doctor. I want to continue doing my cardio with the weight training for now. At least until I can get the bulk of my weight down. Then I can do a more weight training schedule and less cardio. I did scale my cardio down from 60minutes to 30 min workout. And increased my weight training from 15 minutes to 1 hour. Its tough!
On Cheating!!! Well I did do some of that this weekend. I ate rice on Friday and again on Saturday nite. I had some tortilla chips and that of course added to my carb intake. Oh and I had an icecream that had sugar and about 100 calories....dont remember the carb count. Sunday we went to eat at Chilis and I had some fries and half of a burger. I think overall I cheated 3 days in a row with carbs and gained 1 lbs from the cheating and 1 lb from PMS'in. Im started to bloat now for my cycle coming here at the end of the week.
I just completed my first week on my body make over. And what success! My clothes are fitting more comfortably, I lost 5 lbs and already feel lighter! I have about 50lbs to go now!
This week I took my meds, worked out, stayed on my lowcarb diet, drank lots of water and stayed glued to the phen forum for support.
Here's what my work outs looked like:
Cardio on my treadmill for about 45mins, 10-15 minutes of workout with weights, squats, lunges, pushups and sit-ups. And already can see muscles being sculpted. It is so cool.
MY BIGGEST TEMPTATION: Yesterday we had company come in on my last day of the week. :( They brought us a big box of Cuban sweets (pastries)..... and then we went out to eat at our favorite Greek restaurant! Yes and I ate a few of those pieces of sweet bread and had rice and bread with my salad and meal....:( I was really dreading the scale this morning.....but am happy to say the scaled stayed the same at 175!
Hello everyone :) My name is Audra and I am new to this site. Today is my first day to join this site and start my body makeover. I have gained too much weight here in the past 3 years. I have 2 grown kids and now a toddler. I remarried 3 years ago and have this new life, new family, new home, new job etc....so as you can see with all the changes and stress I put on weight. I have gained 20 lbs in 4 years. Years ago, back in 2004 I got down to a size 7/8 doing the Atkins diet and excercise. I had not seen that dress size in over 10 years then. This time I plan to do the same again now that things are stable and I have my summer off (Im a school teacher). Wish me luck and please give me feedback! Thanks!
Today I began my day with great excitement at 5:30 am.
-5:30am - weighed in at 180lbs :(
-Took my meds,
-worked out for 67 minutes on my treadmil.
-7:30 a.m.worked out with weights for about 15 minutes and 2 sets of 30 abs on the bench
-drank water -2 bottles
-drank my protein whey shake with 1 banana
-went out with my toddler to feed the animals and do some gardening for about 1 hour
-came in drank my chinese herbal dieters tea (that was steeping since about 6am)
-10:30 am made eggs and bacon for me and my grown son (ate 1 egg - 1 strip of bacon)
-took my multi-vitamin
-1:10 NOT HUNGRY but am eating a protein EAS low car bar 1/2
So far so good.......I've had 4 bottles of water and am eliminating as well now that the tea is kicking in.
