New support site

Hey, y'all, I want to tell you about this new web site I found for weight loss support. It's called peertrainer.com. You join groups of four and larger teams based on your interests. Each group has a private message board for discussion. I joined several groups--one for pre-pregnancy, one for teachers, and one for yoga fanatics--so I'm covered for several interests.

The site has a daily log where you can blog and/or list your foods for the day. The food log doesn't count calories or anything. It's just an online jounal. It's simple and easy to use. I like it. Check it out if you're looking for some more personal interaction than EP offers.

I really need some support right now. The scale was up again today. It seems to be shooting up with no end in sight! If I were binging it might make some sense, but the gain just seems so disproportionate to what I've been eating. I can only assume that not working has really reduced the amound of calories I burn. Still . . .it's got to stop at some point. Right?

HUGS

There will be an end.  I know that even not working you are busy, but maybe some long walks with the dogs are in order to up the number of steps you take ever day, if your back can handle that.  And even if you can't, you are doing the right things for your body.  And that's all you can do--not meant in a defeatist sense, but that you are making such consistent and substantial efforts that you deserve to be proud no matter what the scale says.  You also deserve to be rewarded with looser pants, but sadly none of us can control that any more than you already are.

Any meds that could be contributing to weight gain?  Any other life stress contributing to your body's fat-hoarding habit?  Maybe if you keep eating "clean" and exercising but stop weighing for a while the anxiety will lessen.  Or not--if being away from the scale freaks you out by all means keep doing what you need to do.  I don't know what your body needs that you aren't already doing.

I don't know either

but if it's any consolation, I was up three pounds overnight this morning! First time I stepped on scale, at least. Second and third tries it was up two. Stupid scale! Stupid weight.

I had a look at the site you linked to. I couldn't find a group I think I'd gel with. Probably two blogs is enough for me, plus I belong to an online community called UK-Yankee and the Firm Believers Clubhouse.

Don't give up, Ashley! Your health is worth all your efforts.

Yes

it's got to stop - maybe you can up your exercise a bit. I haven't read blogs in ages so I dn't know if you are able to do anything with your back now.  I'm totally sidelined myself unfortunately and my weight loss has stopped because of it. I will give the website a look.  Keep trying. BTW your before and after pics are amazing

a list huh

Ashley, I am going to have to think about making a list. II started to write one, but everything I can think of that's good about living in England, I feel someone will argue with. For some reason, people (Americans) seem to think when I point out something good about England I'm saying the same thing is bad in the US. It's not a competition. I may have to leave the list thing for a while. If I start a list about England, I don't want it turn into reasons I don't want to live in the US, which it might.

Interesting

Site. I am going to have to check it out!! Thanks for sharing it with us! :o)
