Sorry I haven't posted, ladies. I admit I'm just not in the mood. There are some family issues I've been dealing with, plus I've been pretty busy with work. Eating and exercise are going extremely well: back down to 163.8 this morning - Yay!
In case you're keeping track of my bowling scores, Wednesday night I got 124-136-171, for an average of 144, which brings my season average up to 136. I was quite pleased!
A hot guy flirted with me outside the grocery store that same night. At first I thought he said hello to me with a huge smile because he thought I was someone else. Hey - I'll take it!
I'm having my highlights and haircut done this afternoon - it's been too long! Tomorrow morning DD has a ringette game, then I'm going for a body wrap ALL AFTERNOON. My mother had given me this certificate for my birthday but never got around to it. I'll let you know how it was Monday morning.
Have a great weekend! Please don't be insulted if I don't comment today. I will read them all, though!
Crap - I should say good afternoon. You can tell I didn't work out this morning. I almost didn't blog today for lack of energy and interest. But alas it's times like these we most need to, right?
I didn't win anything at bingo, but one friend won $150, the other $200 (we were 5). We had a lot of fun, though. BFF and her mom didn't come. I've got to tell you, though, it always amazes me to watch how some people eat. One of my friends ate the following: 1 hot dog, fries with sauce, beef jerky, apple, clementine, Oh Henry chocolate bar, bag of chips, and a piece of cheese. Oh... my... God. I couldn't believe how she could not stop eating! She is already overweight, so can't really afford to pack all that in. She told me I was "so good and full of willpower" because I refused all she offered me. I told her I just had a rule that I didn't eat after supper - simple as that. Of course I was starving, so I had 2 cups of coffee and tons of water. I made it through to breakfast this morning without dying, so I'm good. Praise to God for NON SCALE VICTORIES!
Bowling tonight - better than no exercise at all, right? I will certainly burn off some calories just flapping my gums! Tomorrow I'll drag my sorry ass out of bed for a Billy Blanks Bootcamp torture session, plus Yoga. Joy oh joy.
Despite the fact I did no exercise today, I DID get up early - to watch TBL! I just HAD to know how it went. I wasn't thrilled with the challenge, but the chef was pretty hot (not as hot as Bob, but I digress). Were you pleased with the outcome of WI and elimination? I sure was!
TOM just arrived. Thank goodness - I was getting fed up with the cramping and general sense of discomfort. Detox time!
Yesterday I ate extremely well. I even managed to limit myself to ONE glass of wine after supper. Yay me! I also cleaned the bathroom and did 2 loads of laundry. While watching my pre-taped Law & Order, I did pushups and situps. I NEVER exercise after supper, so I was quite pleased with myself. Now if I could only make it a habit!
This morning I did my Firm Ultimate Fat Burning DVD, followed by Scott Pilates. I am all set to face the day! Tonight I'm going to Bingo with my BFFs. Hopefully I'll win something for a change!
I preordered tickets for the Hannah Montana / Miley Cyrus 3D movie this weekend. My daughter can't wait! It's only playing for two weeks here in one theatre, so I made sure she wouldn't miss it. I hear the movie is selling out quickly in the States.
My friend's mother died of lung cancer this morning. She was in Stage 4, so deteriorated very rapidly. So sad. She was a great lady.
On that note (sorry), I'll wish all of you a happy healthful day. Stay warm and keep safe!
What a weekend! Let's start with the Good, shall we? DD was in a ringette tournment this weekend (she's 7). Ringette is like ice hockey, but the sticks and pucks are different. Her team won all three games. Not only that, my baby got her FIRST GOAL! Yes, I cried. I'm going to make her a special certificate to keep in her memory book.
Continuing with the Good, we had a really great time at the Comedy Show Saturday night. We saw some friends we hadn't seen in awhile, and ended up staying until after midnight.
The Bad? I did no exercise whatsoever. None. Nada. My good eating habits pretty much went out the window. I'm talking pasta, chocolate brownie cake with hot fudge sauce (to die for), wine, wine, wine, Smirnoff Ice coolers, and more wine. Oh - My - God! On the bright side, I replaced my side order of fries yesterday with a salad (dressing on the side). I also had salad before the pasta Saturday night.
The Ugly? You probably guessed by now - the number I saw on the scale this morning. No worries - it'll be gone by Friday. I was back into full swing this morning, starting with Billy's Bootcamp Mission Two, plus Firm Power Yoga. My eating is right on target as well. Now all I have to figure out is what to make for supper!
That's it, that's all for today. I hope you had a great weekend too!
You ladies are EVERYWHERE! This morning my alarm went off at 5am. I didn't feel like working out, so reset it for 7. Well, obviously you all were having none of that! I could almost feel the collective foot kicking me in the ass, forcing me out of bed. Alright already! I forced myself up and did my Billy Blanks Elite Bootcamp Mission Two, plus a 22-minute Scott Pilates session. I hope you're satisfied!
Seriously, I would have beaten myself up all day if I hadn't done my workout. I sit at my desk ALL DAY. I have to do something to get my metabolism working. Thanks guys!
We're bracing for a huge snowstorm (thanks to my friends in Arkansas). DD has a ringuette game at 5:00 pm. It wouldn't surprise me if it got cancelled. We'll see!
Tomorrow night we're going to a comedy show and spaghetti dinner at the local legion hall. I'm looking forward to having a good laugh with my friends.
Have a wonderful weekend, everyone! Stay safe and I'll "see" you on Monday!
I wasn't going to blog today. I admit I'm feeling a little down for not sticking to my plan too well this week. I had managed to get down to 163.2 this weekend, yet am back up to 165.2 this morning. I know it's NOT about the number on the scale - trust me! I'm just feeling a little blue about not meeting my goal of 160 this month. On the bright side, I am lighter than I was at the beginning of the month!
Bowling last night was fun. I played 42 pins over my average. Yay me! Creepy Bowling Guy is getting less and less annoying as I avoid him as much as possible.
Eating-wise I did pretty well yesterday. I'm happy to report I got through the day without requiring gum (except to freshen my breath at bowling - LOL). I did NOT eat any cheddar after work, having only my pasta supper. My portion could have been smaller, but it was just so darn good! As per my rule, I did NOT eat a single thing afterwards. Thank goodness for small victories!
This morning I should have walked, but couldn't be bothered getting up extra early to head out into the freezer. Instead I slept in until 5:45 and did The Firm's Power Yoga. Tomorrow I'll attempt Billy Blank's Bootcamp Elite, Mission Two. I'll be sure to do it without weights this time so I won't have to stop all the time.
I don't know what got into me yesterday! All I wanted to do was eat, and eat I did. I did pretty well until I got home. I started with a couple pieces of cheddar, then a small portion of my casserole (which was really good). After supper I was still hungry, so had 3 scoops of peanut butter. As if that's not bad enough, I had a serious hankering for chocolate. Since all we had was chocolate syrup and ice cream, that's what I had. Oh, Lordy! It wasn't until I sat down to watch TBL I realized I could have avoided the whole binge with one tiny piece of gum. I really MUST remember that next time!
This morning it was back to the exercise. Billy Blanks seriously kicked my ass with his Bootcamp Mission Two. It was so nasty, I had to put my weighted bands on the ground. Next time I'll do it without weights, then add 1 lb weights until my arms get stronger. Even Shelley, his right-hand woman, had to stop several times throughout the workout. No wonder I was struggling! After the torture I enjoyed a relaxing 22-minute pilates DVD.
Did you enjoy TBL last night? I was surprised to see Jillian struggle. I'll bet Bob really felt like a heel last night when Brittany had her say!
Hello again! In case you're interested, here's the recipe I'll be trying out tonight. I don't have any corn niblets, but will use green peppers and onions instead. Given the calorie and sodium counts, though, I'll have to limit my portion size for sure! I'll let you know how it turns out!
I can't believe that one hour of X-country skiing was WAY more brutal than a week's worth of Billy Blanks torture. I'm still sore! In fact, I skipped my workout this morning in the hopes of lessening the pain. I really must try to ski more often!
Last night Hubby did an exchange of time at the fire station, so he was home to pick up the girls and cook supper. Yee haw! Not only did he make a sumptuous salmon dish, he also chopped up my celery and carrots for the week. Can't beat that!
Tonight I'm on my own with the girls, but I've got my recipe all picked out -probably not the most nutritious choice, as it contains Kraft mac & cheese. I'm going to tweak it a little so I can add green peppers and onions to the mix.
I knew I shouldn't have, but I did anyway. My mother returned from Toronto yesterday afternoon so I asked if she wanted to have supper together. She already had plans with her BFF for Chinese, but insisted I come along with the girls. I hesitated, but agreed nonetheless. Big mistake! The scale was up 3 lbs this morning, as expected. Ugh - how frustrating! I know it's water weight from the sodium, but still!
On a brighter note, I took the kids X-Country skiing yesterday afternoon. Boy, are my legs SORE today! After an hour, I'd had enough, so the girls did a little skating and sliding. We had a great time, all in all. I'll have to try another place next time, preferrably with man-made GROOMED trails.
Bingo was a flop. None of us won anything. To top it off, my BFF decided to bring along her mother. This was supposed to be a "girlfriend gab" thing, so we weren't thrilled with the addition. L just isn't the same when her mother is around. She barely speaks to the three of us, preferring to dote on her mother (who has sever respiratory problems) the whole time.
This morning I did my Billy Blanks Bootcamp Mission One DVD (managed not to pee myself this time), followed by The Firm's Power Yoga. Tomorrow, according to Billy's workout chart, I have to do Mission Two. Oh Joy....
That's all for me today. Have a wonderful, healthful day!!!
