B - I - N - G - O !!!!

Good morning!

That's right - BINGO!!  I got to say it TWICE last night.  First let me tell you the hall was practically empty last night.  I won on a $200 game, which I had to split with some MAN.  Side note:  men should NOT be allowed in bingo halls.  Then my BFF and I won on the same card (with 7 other people) and each got $15.  That's a grand total of $115, minus $3 in tips.  Not too shabby!

We went to Boston Pizza for supper, where I had the fettucini alfredo with chicken, mushrooms, tomatoes and onions (with a glass of wine, of course).  At the bingo hall I had a coffee and lots of water.  The scale this morning reflected the oversize meal, but it'll come off eventually.  I wish I could bring myself to weigh in only once per week, but I just can't do it!!

Last night I took an anti-inflammatory/pain killer for my hip.  It felt much better this morning, so I was able to do my T-Tapp workout quite easily.  I attempted the Awesome Legs again, making it though a little longer than Monday.

My bladder has felt really bloated the last few days, and my pees aren't terribly plentiful.  I tend to get urine infections a few times per year, so I've been taking cranberry supplements twice per day to offset them.  I tried a Chemstrip this morning to see if I had one, but it came out normal.  Hmmm...  Could it be ovulation or the start of a yeast infection?  I doubt it's a side effect of the painkiller, because I only took one last Thursday and last night.  Hopefully it will clear up soon.

About the T-Tapp HoeDowns:  if you've never seen them done and are especially curious, you can go to the t-tapp.com website and download the video.  Hubby caught me doing them in the kitchen last week and had a good chuckle while imitating me.

Have a wonderful day, everyone.  I'll catch up with all of you shortly...

Back to Walking

Good morning!

I'd like to wish a Happy Birthday to LaurenHur.  I'm sure she'd appreciate hearing from all of you as well.

Today I started walking again.  I had stopped for awhile to concentrate on the T-Tapp bootcamp.  My hip is still very tender from my side bends last Thursday, so I struggled a little at the end of my 1 hour and 15 minute powerwalk.  The sky was beautiful, the air crisp, and I realized how much I missed it.

I'm getting a kick out of the Facebook site, hooking up with people I haven't spoken with in years.  Whenever I get a message the text is sent to my mobile phone, too.  It makes me feel warm and fluffy inside to know that people want to keep in touch with me.

Anyhoo, tonight I'm off to supper and bingo with my BFF.  It'll be nice to get out just the two of us, without hubbies and kids.

Have a wonderful day, everyone!

A Brand New Week

Good Monday Morning!!

I feel like I've been away forever, as I couldn't get online over the weekend.  My Google Reader tells me most of you have been busy little typing bees this weekend, so I'm thinking I won't get any work done here until well after lunch!

My weekend was pretty busy (big surprise).  Friday after work I took my DD for her hair appointment to fix the result of her attempt at self-hairdressing.  She looks a little better now - thankfully with long sideswept bangs you can't tell she practically shaved off her bangs.

Saturday I met my dad for lunch, then ran a few errands.  We were having friends over for supper, so I had to pick up some salad fixings and booze.  Yes, I did it again.  4 Smirnoff coolers throughout  the day (2 between vacuuming and scrubbing the bathroom), 1 rum cooler, and 2 glasses of wine after supper.  I sound like a lush, don't I?  At least I spaced it all out so I didn't get drunk.  That's not even the worst of it!  One of my guests brought a whole box of TimBits over (Canadian donut hole treats).  Normally I'm not a fan, but after a few drinks I thought who cares?  I felt kind of bad after eating 3, so I went to the bathroom for a quick set of T-Tapp Hoedowns to stave off the sugar rush.

Sunday I took the kids to church as they were having a special kids' day (we never go, usually).  They had a bbq afterwards, and I ate mostly salad and carrot sticks.  I put off having a hot dog as long as I could, but ended up having one.  Oh, well!  For supper we had a hamburger, but I had a side salad with it so it wasn't so bad either.

I was happy to relax outside all day yesterday - a rare treat.  The weather was perfect, although a little more sun would have been nice.

I finished my T-Tapp bootcamp one day early (Saturday), because I felt like I'd had enough (I even hear Teresa in my sleep).  I really couldn't be bothered with it yesterday.  I did, however, do my body brushing.  Today I got back to it, although I'll be doing it every other day now for the next 5 weeks.  For you T-Tappers out there, I also added Awesome Legs and Jog Rocks to my routine.  I've got to tell you, I couldn't complete the Awesome Legs because my calves and shins were BURNING.  Hopefully it gets easier.  Tomorrow I'll give walking a try (my hip is still tender from last week).

Of course I'm back up to 170.6 this morning, but I'm hoping for a decent loss by Friday (my personal official WI day).  Skinny vibes to everyone out there today.  I'll be commenting on your blogs shortly...

2.6 Loss This Week!

Top of the morning to you all!

I recorded my biggest weekly loss this morning, despite the indulgence of last weekend.  168 - I couldn't believe my eyes - Yay!

My hip is much better today.  I appreciate all your concern and helpful tips.  I iced it when I got home, then I walked around a little at my DD's soccer game (she scored a goal - yay!).  When I got back I cleaned the kitchen and went for a dip in the hot tub for 20 minutes.  After preparing for bed and doing my T-Tapp body brushing, I took an anti-inflammatory (Arthrotec, for all my friendly pharmacists out there).  I can walk straight now with only a slight ache.  Unfortunately I have a headache now and am afraid to take Tylenol because of the pill from last night.

I did my 12th day of T-Tapp bootcamp this morning.  Don't tell Hubby, but I ordered a whack of stuff from them yesterday - more exercise DVDs and nutritional supplements.  They sent me a brochure with special prices ending June 15th, so I decided to stock up while our Canadian dollar is high.

I can't begin to tell you how slim and beautiful I feel since I started T-Tapping.  I don't know if it's the exercises, nutritional supplements, body brushing, or a combination of it all, but I feel amazing.  This is the first time I truly believe I will get to my goal and stay fit for life.  My clothes have loosened up significantly and I feel strong.  I hope this feeling lasts, because it is quite the high.  I wish everyone out there who is struggling, stressing, getting discouraged, or has just plain given up could catch this bug.  I want so badly for everyone out there to feel the way I am at this very moment in time.  I'm sending you all, my friends, my prayers so that you may find success in your quest to be the best you that you can be.

Sorry - I didn't mean to babble again (it's Friday, after all).  I just want my friends to be happy and healthy.

It's supposed to be a beautiful weekend.  Hubby wants to invite some people over for a BBQ, so I'm going to have to watch my drinking (again).  I doubt I'll be able check on you this weekend - my internet at home has been down all week.  I hope to find you all safe and sound bright and early Monday morning.  Have a great time!

Good News and Bad

Good morning!

Where to start?  Well, my oldest DD (she's 9) decided to cut her hair and not tell me about it.  Apparently there were a few globs of soap in her hair left over from an old bar in the tub on Monday.  I was peeved because her sister had some in her hair and at first I couldn't figure out what it was.  Afraid of making me mad, she cut it out of her own hair, so now she has a triangle-shaped patch at the front of her head where her bangs should be.  Problem is we're having a grandmother-mother-daughters portrait taken June 16th, plus our family reunion at the end of the month.  That's the bad news.  Good news is her hair is long enough to hide it when it is swept over the side.

Good news is I did my T-Tapp faithfully this morning (and was down to 168.8 on the scale).  Bad news is I pulled a muscle in my hip when doing my side-bends.  I heard what sounded like ligaments tearing - ouch!  I should have iced it but didn't have time.

Bad news is a minivan pulled out in front of me this morning and I almost hit him.  Good news is I was able to swerve in time to avoid him (blasting him with the horn, of course).

Bad news is my aunt hit two drunk guys with her car two nights ago.  One of them died, the other was so drunk he walked back to the bar and kept drinking, despite the blood covering his body.  Good news is...  well I guess there is no good side to that one.

My mom was down one more pound at WW Tuesday night - she's doing AMAZING.

Oops - work calls.  I've got to go.  Have a great day - talk to you later!

Back in the Game - Again

Good morning!  Well, I'm back into the 160s and this time I intend to stay here.  If I can control myself a little better this weekend, I should have a good weigh-in next week.  Please?

Hubby told me I was looking really good yesterday.  Of course, he had to ruin it by asking when I was going to get back to my cardio.  I explained to him that I was almost finished with my T-Tapp bootcamp and that I'd be back to walking next week.  Men!

I'm so happy my girls don't have homework anymore.  Now we have more time to relax and cuddle together.  I'm not a big fan of Scooby Doo, but I'll sit and watch it to make them happy.

Yesterday was a good food day.  I looked up the Volumetrics Eating Plan online and found it to be very similar to my own plan.  Basically you try to fill up on foods with the lowest number of calories to grams possible.  For instance, if you want to eat a 30-gram piece of cheese which contains 90 calories, that's not a good idea because you get 3x the calories for the weight of your food.  A better plan would be to eat something containing 30 calories for 90 grams.  It's like getting 2 whole cups of green grapes instead of 1/2 cup of raisins.  Cool huh?  Basically people tend to eat the same QUANTITY of food every day, so by eating food with lower density you decrease your caloric intake.  I think as long as you stick to as many God-made whole foods as possible, you're already doing the Volumetrics plan.

Thanks to everyone who commented on this eating plan yesterday.  I think we can all agree it all comes down to a common sense approach to nutrition.

Happy Hump Day everyone.  I hope you're all feeling good about yourselves today.

Whew!

Good morning!

Well, I didn't have to throw the scale out the window this morning - it read 170.8.  That's almost two pounds gone from my weekend of indulgences.  My pooch is much less bloated this morning, too.  Whew!

T-Tapp is going well.  I've been doing the 45-minute Total Workout for 9 days straight now.  There's no use in measuring until TOM leaves, but I can tell you that the old intestinal pipes are getting some amazing all-natural cleansing.  Yeah, baby!  My jeans are getting looser, too, and I'm on the 3rd hole of my 32" belt.

Yesterday was a good food day.  We had fish for supper, and I only had a small scoop of my rice.  The rest of my plate was loaded with carrots, broccoli, and cauliflower (and I stopped at one glass of red wine).  Hubby and I watched a movie in the evening and I was STARVING, but I sucked it up and only drank a cup of green tea.

A few of you asked about the Blood Type tips Teresa Tapp spoke of in her Personal Profile CD.  I know there is a book available Eating for your Blood Type, but I haven't actually read through it.  I'm not sure how valid the information is, as there are lots of opinions for and against the plan on the Internet.  Is anyone out there in EP land following the guidelines of this plan?

Out of curiosity, has anyone out there ever done the Volumetrics eating plan?  I read in our paper yesterday that it's been rated number one, ahead of Weight Watchers and Jenny Craig.  I don't know much about it and was wondering if anyone has had success with it.

Thanks again for all of your support yesterday.  I'm sure it won't be my last indulgent weekend, and I don't want it to be.  I think I can go a little crazy now and then, without guilt, as long as I am active, drink my water, and really think before I put food or drink in my mouth.

Have a great day!

When will I learn?

Okay - so I screwed up another weekend.  Despite TOM, I dropped back into the 160's just to climb right back up to 172.6 this morning - WTF???  Unfortunately I can't place the blame squarely on the shoulders of my monthly visitor.  I drank way too much ALL WEEKEND, plus I had pork for supper two nights in a row.  According to Teresa Tapp, my virtual fitness instructor, Type A bloodtypes should avoid pork.  Now I think I know why!

Aside from that, I did enjoy my weekend.  Friday night I went with my BFFs to Bingo.  None of us won, but we had fun.  Saturday night we got together again, this time with our husbands, for supper and to view photos from The Big Apple.  Of course we drank too much but had a great time.

Yesterday I took it easy.  A friend dropped by in the afternoon, so we talked and had a few drinks in the afternoon (I had 3 Bloody Caesars).  I didn't get drunk or anything - I drank a lot of water at the same time.  For supper we went to the in-laws.

The good news is I did my T-Tapp routine every day this weekend.  I also planned out my workouts for the next two months.  Nor did I eat after supper.  I also limited my carbs, passing on the baked potato and not eating any chips.  It could have been much worse!

Alas, today is a new day.  The extra poundage will once again disappear by the end of the week.

Have a wonderful day, everyone!

A New Month

Good morning!

Ah!  A new month has begun.  Where has the time gone?  I wonder where I'll be on my journey at the end of this one.  Hmmm...

Yesterday I had a good hair day.  Maybe that's why I felt light and perky all afternoon.  I get really cranky when I can't get it the way I want.  Yeah, whatever...

Anyway, my beautiful baby girl scored her first goal of the season at soccer last night.  You should have seen her face - she was so proud!  Priceless.  After the match we went for ice cream, as we do after every Thursday night game.  I drank only coffee - yay for me.

I checked out the T-Tapp forums yesterday to see what people had to say about my excessive flatulence over the last few days.  I thought it might be due to the release of toxins from the exercise, but I think it's because of the Fibertox supplements I started taking at the same time.  Last night I didn't take any, and I feel much less bloated today.  Can you believe I got 5 replies from people, and 112 have already read the topic?

While I was in the forums the subject of colonic cleansing came up.  I looked up Colonix & Bowtrol.  Has anyone out there tried this stuff?  I'm not sure colonic cleansing is such a good idea - I think I'd rather exercise and eat properly and let my organs do the job themselves.

This morning I did my T-Tapp as usual.  I took my measurements just for kicks.  So far in 5 days I've lost 1/2 inch on my waist.  Not too shabby.  I wonder where I'll be after 14 days?  I hope all the hype is true!

My girls are at home all day with their Dad - no school!  I'm going to Bingo with my BFFs tonight, so I think he's going to find the day VERY LONG.  Oh, well!  Too bad, too sad.  LOL

It's Friday!!!!

Have a wonderful day, everyone!  Keep safe this weekend.

Movie Stars

Good morning!

Wow - I got tons of comments about Mr. Pitt yesterday.  It got me to thinking about all the productions that have come to our little communities of Otterburn Park and Mont-Saint-Hilaire:

  1. Affliction (1997):  I drove a school bus for a scene in this movie.  I got to say hello to NIck Nolte - what a grumpy, scraggly old man!  Also in the film were some friends of mine who had the honour of being in a scene with Sissy Spacek, James Coburn, and Willem Dafoe.  Apparently James Coburn was a really nice man.
  2. Captive (1998):  This was a made-for-cable movie in which I was again driving a school bus.  On location in Mount Royal (Montreal), I spoke with the star Richard Grieco.  Pretty good looking, he was really nice and we chatted for a little while.
  3. The Human Stain (2003):  Nicole Kidman was spotted at the little church a few blocks from where I live.  Anthony Hopkins was also in the movie as was Gary Sinise, but I didn't see any of them.
  4. Syriana (2005):  Yes, George Clooney was working right up the street from where I work.  Unfortunately I didn't see him, but I dressed well and wore makeup every day just in case!
  5. Human Trafficking (2005):  The production company was using our warehouse for their catering crew.  I had hoped Donald Sutherland and Mira Sorvino would have lunch with the rest of the cast, but they chose to eat on location at the motel where they were filming.  This is the same motel which was used for Syriana.  Cool, huh?

While my Mom was on vacation in the Bahamas a few years back, Steven Spielberg was on her tour bus checking out potential movie locations.

This morning I did my T-Tapp video, as usual.  I really must check out the website to see if excessive flatulence is a normal result of doing the workout.  TMI, but the bowel movements have also increased, but that might have a lot to do with the Fibertox I purchased with the Body Brushing Kit.  As she says, T-Tapp and Toilet Paper go hand in hand.  Yay!

I was really good with the red wine yesterday.  I waited until after supper to drink my glass, then promptly put it in the dishwasher so I wouldn't be tempted to drink more.  Yay me!  I have to admit, though, that it's easier to limit myself to only one glass when I can't sit outside to enjoy it (rain yesterday).

My BFF is back from her visit to The Big Apple.  I just got off the phone with her - she wants to show us her pictures Saturday night.  I can't wait!  I've always wanted to visit New York - one day!!!

Tonight my daughter has soccer.  I hope it gets rained out.  It'll be raining all day and I really don't feel like sitting at a wet field, freezing my wet feet off.

Have a wonderful day, everyone!
