No WI today!

Good morning!

Looks like I'm stuck at 172.6 lbs for awhile, at least until I decide to change the battery in my scale.  Maybe I'll replace it Monday.  Nah - I won't be able to wait that long!  Or will I?  Hmmm...

Well, I was up again at 4:30 this morning.  That in itself was a great feat, as Hubby crawled in after his softball game at 2:20 am.  Of course it woke me up, as I was NOT thrilled with the fact he'd been drinking for at least 4 hours, and drove home drunk.  NOT HAPPY AT ALL.

Breathe...

Okay, so I got up and did my 45-minute T-Tapp DVD, followed by a 55-minute walk.  There's nothing like the fresh morning air to put a spring in your step!  As for food today, my meals are pretty routine except for supper.  The Husband is playing golf with his buddies and I doubt he'll be home to eat with his family (she said, gritting her teeth in anger).

Tomorrow morning I'm having my nails done.  After that I'm taking the kids to lunch with my Mom, followed by Family Day at my girls' school.  The Husband is playing softball all day, so he won't be joining us (she said, gritting her teeth in anger once again).  For supper The Husband and I (along with our friends) are heading out to Vinnie Gambini's Ristorante, then bowling.  Hopefully it will be a nice day...

Have a wonderful weekend, everyone!

Backwards

Good morning!

I'm really backwards this morning.  I started commenting on everyone's blog without writing in my own first.  Oops!

So, here goes:  This morning I was up at 4:30 am to do my workout.  I was going to do my T-Tapp DVD, but couldn't be bothered.  Instead I strapped on my IPod and went for a 70-minute walk instead.  Halfway through, it started to rain.  I trudged on, though!  That makes 3 gold stars for my calendar this week - yay!

Bowling was fun last night.  I bowled 122-156-126, for an average of 134.6.  Not too shabby for the first night!  My BFFs sang me Happy Birthday and presented me with a small cake.  We thoroughly enjoy embarrassing each other this way whenever it's one of our birthdays.  It was cute.

My mom lost another 1.75 lbs at WW this week.  I can't believe how well she's doing.  That's over 20 lbs since February!  She walks every day for an hour, sometimes twice per day.  She also goes to Curves religiously 3x per week.

Hubby is making corn on the cob and steak tonight.  Of course I'll have to add a glass or two of red wine to the mix.  What a sacrifice!

My friends and I are going for a decadent pasta supper for my birthday Saturday night.  We're then going to face off against our husbands in a few rounds of bowling.  I can't wait!

Have a wonderful day, everyone!!!

Name Change

Good morning!

As I was walking through the darkened streets of my neighborhood this morning (from 5:20 to 6:50 am), watching the sun come up, I started thinking about my upcoming birthday.  Indeed, I will turn 38 next week.  40 isn't too far away...

So, I thought it might be time to change the name of my blog.  I was thinking perhaps "Overweight at 38, Fit and Fine by 39", or something like that.  Has a pretty cool ring to it, eh?  Eh?  That's my Canadian side talking...

Anyhoo, bowling starts back tonight.  I'm Secretary of the committee this year, so I've been busily typing up minutes, schedules, information sheets, etc etc.  It's quite fun, actually.  I can't wait to see everybody, although summer went by entirely too fast.

So far I've stayed pretty well on track with my food and exercise.  I'm going to shoot out today and pick up some star stickers to put on my calendar for days when I do everything right.  Hopefully this will encourage me to work hard even when I don't feel like it.

That's it for me today.  I really should get some work done...  Enjoy your day!

Is it BIG enough?

Good morning!

Don't you just love the SUPERSIZE weight on your Account Administration page?  It really smacks you in the face, doesn't it?  After a long weekend of poor eating and alcohol a-plenty, that oversized number is a HUGE wakeup call.  Time to get serious about weight loss once again!

So... this morning I was up at 4:30 am to do my 45-minute T-Tapp DVD, followed by a 1-hour powerwalk.  Now I'm hungry.

The only exercise I did over the long weekend was a 1-hour walk Saturday morning.  Thank goodness I pushed myself to go, otherwise I wouldn't have done anything at all.  Sunday was our BBQ.  My BFFs and I polished off several daquiris, pina coladas, and margaritas - topped off by a few glasses of red wine.  Needless to say I didn't do a darn thing yesterday.

Oh - there was this motorcycle guy (yummy) who was stopped at a traffic light while I was turning the corner.  I had my window down, and this HOT guy (sexy and unshaven) stared and smiled at me the whole time I was driving by him.  OMG - what more motivation do I need to keep on keeping on, know what I mean?  I was on Cloud 9 all day.

Calm...  okay, so I'm back to work today.  Thank goodness I can get back into my old routine and focus on my weight loss journey.  Now it's Operation Cancun - I have a little over a month to get bathing-suit-ready.  We leave October 20th.  Yikes!!!

Have a great day, everyone!!!

Early Bird

Good morning!

Yep, that's me, the Early Bird - boy was that worm yummy!  I was up at 4:30 am for my workout this morning.  You read that correctly - I even amaze myself sometimes (LOL).  What did I do at that godawful hour, exactly?  I started by dressing in my workout clothes, then grabbed a slice of whole grain toast with all natural peanut butter with a glass of orange juice.  After lacing up my running shoes, I did my 1-hour T-Tapp exercises.  THEN I threw on my sweater, IPod and water bottle and headed outdoors.  Taking an entirely different route, I walked 45 minutes.  After a nice hot shower I was ready for the day.

My bowels are really happy with me this week.  I don't remember the last time they worked so well - sorry for the TMI, but that is a HUGE deal to me.  Gotta love the regular routine of exercise and nutrition!

Last night I made calf liver.  It was quite good, actually, although my youngest said it was too "squishy".  Gotta love kids!  While I prepared our supper, I also threw together a beef and barley soup in the crock pot.  I hope it tastes okay - the girls have it in their lunch (I've never made it before).  I'll keep my fingers crossed for them.

I perused my Fitness magazine yesterday, September issue.  I'm late in reading it, as I only enjoy the articles when I'm 100% On Plan.  There's a great plan for dropping one dress size this month.  The movements are similar to what I was doing in February with the A-List Workout.  What I particularly like is the weekly strength/cardio planner included for a 4-week period.  I will definitely hold on to this article next time I need to change my program.

Work for me has quieted down.  The accountant came to pick up the fruits of my labor - now I'm waiting for his questions and feedback before he presents us our financial statements.  Fun, fun.  Meanwhile, I'm all set for the new school year here at our family bus company.  Fortunately my brother handles all the day to day operations with the drivers, so he's the one who's really stressed out right now.  Thank goodness he insisted on assuming that role in the company years ago.  I'm in charge of administration, so I don't interact with the employees all that much.  I am also exempt from dealing with angry parents, disrespectful children, and demanding school board representatives.  No stress for me (at work, anyway)!

Well, gotta go.  I actually do have SOME stuff to do before the day is out.  Have a great one!

Back up to the 15-lb loss mark!

Good morning!

Yep, you've read that right.  I'm back down to 15 lbs lost again since I recommitted myself in February.  Yay me!  21.4 lbs to go - totally doable, right?

Thankfully the rain held off this morning so I was able to do my 65-minute walk at 5:25 am.  I should have added in a T-Tapp video, but I'll have to get up between 4:00 & 4:30 am if I want to have time to shower afterwards.  I'll give it a go tomorrow.  No guarantees, though - I am SO not a morning person!

The girls had a great first day of school.  My youngest (she's 7) was absolutely beside herself with joy because this year she's using an AGENDA - she's adorable!

Hubby is back on night shift so I have to plan my meals for the next 3 suppers.  Time to get creative!  Looks like I'll have to hit the grocery store for more fruits and veggies (I detest grocery shopping).

Am I dull today or what?    I have absolutely nothing exciting or witty to say.  Maybe tomorrow....

Have a great day!!

Heading in the right direction

Good morning!

So far, so good.  I've managed to lose 1.8 lbs since getting back on track Monday.  Thank heavens it is so much easier to lose freshly-gained weight.  Since I got back to regular exercise and proper eating, I've been going to the bathroom more - everything seems to be in working order again.

Anyhoo, this morning I did a 75-minute power walk before work.  That's 3 days of exercise in a row - yay!  Monday and Tuesday I did some T-Tapp DVDs (tempo upper and lower body), followed by 65-minute walks.  My goal is to walk at least 60 minutes 6 days per week, plus T-Tapp 3 days per week.

The girls were back to school this morning.  Man, are they ever getting big.  I can't believe my baby is in the 2nd grade already.  My eldest just started grade 4.  Where does the time go?  They'll be in high school before I know it!

Have a wonderful, healthy day, everyone.  Keep moving!!!

Goodbye Tom!

Good morning!

Yes, Tom has finally packed up his bags and left.  Thankfully his departure has begun to show on the scale.  169 is right around the corner, and I'm charging ahead full speed to catch it.

I went to bingo last night.  Of course I didn't win anything, but had a wonderful time with my girlfriends.

Hubby was fab yesterday (he's home with the kids until they start school tomorrow).  He did laundry, groceries, and cooked supper.  Surprisingly he didn't even complain about my going out, despite the fact he was alone with the girls all day.  I wish he was "hubby of the year" material every day.  Of course, I'm rarely "wife of the year", so I can't complain.  Anyway, I thanked him for everything he did yesterday (so hopefully he'll do it more often...)

I went to a BBQ two weeks ago where we hooked up with some old friends we hadn't seen in a long while.  I got tons of compliments about my weight loss.  One guy in particular (we're talking Hunk City here, ladies), was particularly complimentary.  His wife couldn't attend, and he flirted with me all evening.  He and my hubby were best friends in high school.  I swear, every icky fruit I put in my mouth and every drop of sweat I've spilled since February was worth it to look great for that one evening.

Oops - duty calls and I must cut this post short.  Have a great day, everyone!!!

Back in the Swing of Things

Good morning!  Actually it's almost afternoon, but who cares?

I'm finally ready to get back into the old routine and blast off those extra pounds I've put on this past week.  Next time I get into the 160s I plan to stay there.

Thanks so much for checking on me.  I've managed to read most of your entries, but didn't make the time to comment.  I really wasn't ready to take the plunge and re-immerse myself in the whole weight loss and fitness thing.  Hopefully I'll catch up with all of you by the end of the week.  Work is pretty hectic here as we prepare for the start of school on Wednesday.

I'll write more tomorrow.  Have a great day, everyone!!!

Not Dead

Hi!  Here's another quickie for you.  Lake George was fun.  We got back Thursday and I've been trying to catch up with my housework ever since.  Tomorrow I'm back at work with a zillion things to do before the accountant comes to audit our books.  Needless to say I won't be blogging much, if at all, this week.  Sorry about that - but it's not like I have a ton of stuff to say.

I do apologize, however, for not keeping up with your posts.  I read a few while away on vacation last week, but was way too busy with the kids to reply.  I'll catch up on everyone's blogs eventually, but will not likely be able to comment before sometime in September.  After next week of intense work, I'm off again, as hubby is working and the girls' daycamp will have ended.  Then it will be time to purchase school supplies and get them dressed.  Ugh - I'm exhausted just thinking about it.

On the weight loss front, not doing too shabby.  I managed to put on only a pound while camping - much better than the 8 pound gain last time.  We walked a lot, and hardly snacked throughout the day.  I guess red wine isn't terribly bad for the diet, as the industrial quantities I ingested didn't make the scale jump.  LOL

That's it for now.  Time to get the girls' snacks and put them to bed.  Tomorrow morning it's back to T-Tapping and the battle of the bulge.  Thankfully my veggies and fruits are ready to go, and my daily lunch soup is made.  Now all I have to worry about is what to make for supper every night.

Have a great week, everyone!!  Hugs, kisses, and skinny vibes to you all!!!
