And what a great morning it is! The scale says I'm one pound away from my pre-vacation weight of 166. Yay!
Bowling was fun last night, despite the butt cramp. I must have overdone my lunges a little yesterday morning - boy was my ass sore! LOL I scored 132-159-121 for an average of 137. Considering my average is 133, that's not too shabby!
This morning I enjoyed an invigorating walk/run for an hour outdoors, followed by my flexibility exercises. Life is good.
Now if my DD's damn cough would just go away. She's been hacking since Sunday with no signs of slowing down. I'll have to stop by the drugstore for a more effective syrup. Her coughing is driving me INSANE! Sigh...
Not much else new going on. My eating has been pretty good - the Halloween candy remains untouched (by me, of course). I've had pasta the last two nights for the sake of convenience, but managed to limit my portions. I really must make something else tonight - probably chicken. I have parent-teacher interviews at 7:00 pm, so it will have to be something simple.
I hope everyone sticks to their plan today. Have a great one!
Today is much better than yesterday. I think I was rather harsh when I used the term "failure" in my post. I was disappointed in myself, that's all - thanks to all of you for trying to cheer me up. In any case, today is a new day and I'm back in the game. I did my 45-minute strength workout, followed by an hour-long walk/jog outside. PLUS.... I'm back into the 160's. TOM finally left the building, and I'm halfway through my Triolax detox cure.
Thanks, Gwynn, for the reminder about Vicks rub. I had totally forgotten about that stuff. DD slept much better last night!
Info for Shelley: I can type blasé with an accent because I use a French keyboard. You can also get it by holding down the Alt key while typing in 130. Pretty cool, huh?
Bowling tonight. Man, it's been a LONG time. I missed two weeks ago because of my vacation, then again for Halloween. Should be interesting...
Speaking of vacation, I've started planning our Disney World vacation for October 2008. We're going to do the Disney Cruise with 4 nights on land / 3 nights at sea. I'm on the fence between the Polynesian and the Beach Club for the land part. Since we're going for a total of 2 weeks, I'm looking into exchanging my timeshare week for a resort in Orlando. So far I've requested the Silver Lake Resort and am awaiting confirmation from the club. I LOVE vacation planning. I think I should have been a travel agent...
I did something REALLY BAD this morning. I got up early as usual, changed into my workout clothes and headed downstairs for toast and a glass of orange juice. I peeked outside and saw it was raining really hard, with a strong wind to boot. I sat there for awhile, pondering whether or not I would go out in that mess. My daughter was up coughing part of the night, so I did not sleep well. On top of that I had a splitting headache. SO... I changed back into my jammies and crawled back into bed. I know I shouldn't, but I feel like a failure today. I tell myself I can throw in a walk after supper, but I know that isn't going to happen. Hubby is on night shift, and I will be swamped with work when I get home. I'll be lucky to get to bed before 9:00 pm.
Anyhoo, the scale is down to 170, so I've lost 4.4lbs since returning from vacation. Pretty decent, although the scale read 168 on the weekend - before the MSG overload. Onward and downward, I suppose...
My head still hurts, despite the 2 Tylenol I took before returning to bed. Now I sit here at work and pray I'm not coming down with DD's cold.
Sorry for the blasé post this morning. I hope you all have a wonderful day!
Indeed, I have returned. Now that I have finally caught up with most of my work, and read through over 200 blog posts, I'm ready to get back into my regular EP routine.
Okay - so I gained 8.2 lbs on vacation. Well, it's better than the 10 lbs I had anticipated. I am confident the weight will drop off quickly enough, though. Yesterday I got back on track with my eating (except for the 3 hot ooey gooey cookies the kids made for dessert), coupled with a long 1.5 hour walk. This morning I almost went back to bed with a splitting headache, but managed to get in an hour of walking/jogging. It's a start!
Tonight, of course, is the dreaded collecting of the BAD BAD BAD food. I have been mentally preparing for this evening - I must NOT eat a single thing, or I know it will turn into an all-out binge.
Now for the vacation - it was AWESOME! We stayed at the Moon Palace Golf & Spa Resort in Cancun (approx 20 minutes south of the hotel zone). Our room had an amazing view of the pool and the beach. Throughout the week we participated in a variety of activities - pool volleyball, golf (hubby), spa (me), snorkelling, swimming with the dolphins (incredible), and walking through Tulum. I admit I didn't step foot in their gym, nor did I play tennis or ride bicycles. A girl needs a little time just to relax, right? We always seemed to be on the go, so I laid out in the sun as often as I could manage. After all the eating and drinking, though, I'm just thankful I can still pull up my jeans. Granted they are incredibly tight, but that shouldn't last too long.
Congrats to Andrea, who hit her 100-lb loss mark last week - wow!
Have a wonderful day, everyone. Sorry I haven't commented on your blogs, but I did take the time to read every single post on my Google Reader.
I was down 3.8 this morning, so I have another 4.6 lbs to lose in order to return to my all-time low of 166. Go me!
I believe TOM will be dropping in today. That, combined with the Triolax cure I started yesterday, will make for a VERY unhappy tummy. I'm cramping up already. Looks like I'm going to get a thorough cleaning over the next few days.
This morning I was up early as usual, but it was really stormy outside. High winds and whipping rain made me reconsider my daily walk. Dressed in my gym clothes, I returned to bed. Exhaustion from Halloween last night did me in - I slept until 7:00 am. I did redeem myself a little, however, by stopping for a 20-minute walk/jog on my way to work. Better than nothing, I guess. So I'm spending the day in my workout clothes - not pretty. Thank God I work alone in my office.
Tonight Hubby is working nights, so I'll have the whole evening to myself after putting the girls to bed. I can't wait to catch up with my favorite tv programs - pure bliss!
I managed to completely avoid the Halloween candy last night. You should see the piles of crap my girls brought home. I swear they get more and more every year! Now I have to get through the next 2 or 3 months until it's all gone!
I can't believe I was actually successful in uploading a video here! This is the COOLEST thing. In my last post, you can see my husband and the girls ready to head out for Halloween. They were SO excited. Of course it's my voice you hear throughout.
This morning I ALMOST went back to bed without exercising. I had forgotten to change the time on my alarm, and slept in an extra half hour. I argued with myself for a few minutes and decided I really didn't want to tell all of you how I failed. SO I bit the bullet and walked/jogged for 1 hour and 15 minutes. I had planned to stop after an hour, but was too far from home. Admittedly, I really enjoyed myself.
I weighed the same this morning. That's a pretty good sign, however, because TOM arrived yesterday morning. Usually I'm up by now. Here's to small victories!
Have a wonderful day, everyone. I'll be by to check on you shortly...
I'm happy to see most of my posts have returned, up to the 19th of October anyway. Everything post-Cancun has evaporated. Tsk Tsk, EP!
I went into sodium meltdown this weekend. We ordered Szechuan for supper with friends Saturday night. I reheated the leftovers yesterday. Can you say Water Retention? I was up 2 lbs this morning.
I restarted my A-List Workout this morning, engaging in 45 minutes of strength training, followed by a brisk hour-long walk/jog. I was sweating like a pig, despite the slightly-above-freezing temperature. What a great way to start the week! Hopefully I'll be back down to my pre-vacation weight by Friday. We'll see!
Did anyone else out there just get a whack of e-mail notifications from really old comments? Freaked me out - there must have been at least 60 comments in my Inbox. Here I thought I got REALLY popular all of a sudden - LOL! Hopefully that means they've fixed the notification problem once and for all.
I'm all packed for our trip to Cancun tomorrow. I just have to run out and pick up a few things at Wal-Mart before I zip up the suitcases for good. Unfortunately I am working until around 2:00 pm, but we'll be heading out to Burlington as soon as I get home. We're staying at the Best Western Windjammer hotel overnight on a Park N Fly package.
I decided to bring my laptop with me, despite the fact it is quite heavy. The kids will be able to watch DVDs at the airport, plus we'll all be able to keep in touch with our friends back home. The Moon Palace has free wifi and a laptop-sized safe in every room, so I figured what the hell. Maybe I'll even be sober enough to blog once in awhile - hehehe!
I didn't exercise this morning. The old ankle was a little tender again yesterday so I rubbed on some A535 and hoped for the best. My workout clothes are packed, though, so I plan to do something every single day while I'm gone.
Have an amazing week, my friends. I'll be in touch... Adios amigos!
Angel
PS My little black dress, which I haven't been able to squeeze into since 2004, FITS!!!
Yes, I am obsessing. According to EP's ideal weight chart, I will enter the "Normal Range" in precisely 1 pound. At 165, I will officially no longer be "marginally overweight". That, my friends, will be a MAJOR accomplishment.
I just checked my weight loss chart, which I have been updating every now and again since May 2003 when I weighed 213 pounds. I managed to get down to 166 in June 2004, but ballooned right back up again to 190 last October. This time I'm going to get it right because I have succeeded in making significant lifestyle changes. My friends here at EP have also been a HUGE part of my progress so far. I fully intend to get below 150 by my trip to Disney in October 2008.
Last night I had my toenails done in preparation for my trip next week. I got a French pedicure, with cute flowers on my big toes. Sweet!
Bowling went pretty well. I bowled 120-144-140, for an average of 134.6 - not too shabby. As usual I had a great time.
This morning I was up at 4:30 am, finally getting back into my walking routine after resting my ankle for two days. Unfortunately I was out a little too long (1 3/4 hours) and my leg started hurting again. Too much too soon, I guess.
I am mentally preparing for my trip next week. I'm packing lots of workout clothes and plan to exercise every morning. Hubby would like to try out the fitness center as well, so it might be fun. I'm sure we'll be walking a lot, anyway, so fitness-wise, I should be okay. Food and drinks are a whole other ball game, though. I certainly won't deprive myself, but I'm hoping to be reasonable with selections and portions. Mind you, I doubt I'll be getting sloshed every day, as I am travelling with my girls (aged 7 & 9).
Remember how I left hubby's case of beer in the cart at the grocery store? Well I lucked out - I stopped by and explained what happened. They were kind enough to give me a replacement case for free, even though I didn't have my receipt with me. Let me tell you, I have a whole new respect for this place!
