Good news from the scale this morning. I'm back down to my 20-lb loss mark. Let's see if I can get through the weekend without screwing it up!
I was up bright (not so much) and early (quite) for my workout. My damn exercise tube-thingie snapped while I was pulling on it - that's the second one I've broken this year. They weren't cheap, either. I bought them in a specialty sporting goods shop in February.
Anyway, I followed up with the new Tae Bo DVDs I bought yesterday. Well... looks like I'm taking it back to the store. The DVDs come with "Billy's Bag" (don't laugh), which I had trouble filling (no, really - don't laugh). I started by putting water in the base, and it wouldn't get full. I pulled it out of the sink (REALLY heavy) and proceeded to fill the outer part with air. Wouldn't you know it - water started coming out of the air hole. WTF? By the time I got the whole HUGE thing blown up (it's a boxing bag), it weighed a ton. I ended up saying "screw it" and stuck it in the bathtub to drain. I tried the DVD anyway, figuring I could just "picture" the bag beside me. Unfortunately they do a lot more than just hit the damn thing, so the bag is necessary. I'll just take it back to the store and be done with it.
I've decided to just go out and buy DDR (Dance Dance Revolution) for my PS2. It will be an early Xmas present to myself (and the girls, of course, hehe). The temperature is falling to about 10 F tomorrow morning, so walking is pretty much out of the question. I need some CARDIO, people! What is DDR, you may ask? It's a game for Playstation 2 that comes with a dance mat with arrows on it. You have to hit those arrows with your feet, as indicated on the screen. I've never tried it, but it looks like a fun way to get your sweat on. I'll let you know how it goes...
I have no children tonight. Hubby and I are going to spend the evening ALONE. Hmmm... My mother is keeping my baby (she's 7), and my eldest is staying over at a friend's. Too bad hubby is working his long shift - he doesn't feel like going out tonight. Maybe we'll just have a quiet supper and watch Criminal Minds. If TOM doesn't show up today, we might just get in a little exercise, too (hehe).
Private Practice wasn't on this week! Grey's Anatomy was a repeat! WTF? Not happy.
My, I certainly am "talkative" this morning. I really should get to work. Have a great weekend!

Hooray!!!
Congratulations on being back to the 20 lb mark!! That is so fantastic!
How sweet that you and your hubby are going to get to have some alone time tonight. I hope you have a wonderful time together.
Hey...at least you're more entertaining than I am today!
Back down to the 20 lbs lost mark? Can I get a woot! woot! Well done!!
Can't wait to hear all about DDR. I had thought of getting it, but when you live in 715 square feet of a Boston condo there really isn't much room for dancing, even after you move the coffee table and easy chair.
That sucks about the Billy bag (I'm going to have to find a picture of it so I can get it into my mind), and your exercise tube-thingie.
Yes, the tv programming was all messed up this week. Men in Trees isn't even on tonight. Whoever at ABC thought it would be a good idea to NOT show the second part of Grey's Anatomy last night needs to be fired. Moron.
On a final note, I hope you have a wonderful time with your DH tonight - and that you get some exercise in. I'm planning on a workout tomorrow night with my little honey!
Congrats on your 20 lbs mark. That is a big milestone. I still think I am going to check out that DDR thing.
I'm trying to stay on track this weekend too and not screw up. Who wants to screw up after a great loss? I know I don't! So you and me, we stay on track this weekend.
Hope you have a nice evening with your husband tonight.
How great that you have the night to yourself with your hubby!! My little ones are 4 months and 2 years so that pretty much never happens for me for more than a few hours. Great news on your 20lb mark!
Congrats on your loss!! Doing the happy dance for you..okay now I'm tired..haha. I laughed my butt off at you about that bag!! toooo funny. Enjoy your time alone and have a wonderful weekend!
hey girl. WTG on getting back down to the 20lb mark. A releif, huh? I had a good laugh at your ordeal with your exercise equipment. Thank you. I hope you have a fun evening with your hubby!
Sorry to hear the Tae Bo thing didn't work out. What a pain! I used to love Tae Bo but I did the old video tapes. I used to play DDR in college and it was cool because it counted calories. With so much jumping up and down on the fast songs it's not surprising that you can burn so much! Just start on "easy" because it can be difficult to play at first.
I would love to have the entire house to just me and DH with no kids!! Never happens. I hope you get lots of great sexercise! LOL Yea, kids can really put a damper on things!
Uh oh....did I just read that Men in Trees isn't on tonight????? I love that show!! We just watched it on Tivo Wednesday since my other favorite (with the gorgeous eye candy Timothy Daly!!) Private Practice wasn't on!! I'm devastated! Freaking writers strike.
Funny story about the Billy Bag! LOL Too bad it didn't work out; looks kind of fun.
Have yourself a wonderful weekend!! I made it to A!! :) Shelley
On the 20lb weight loss! That's awesome :) Keep it girl!! Im so glad you're not gonna run in that 10C weather, we don't want you to freeze to death woman!
I need to go and get some Billy. Everyone is talking about his DVD's and now his bag. Ok that didn't come out right. LOL. What is your weekend like? Mine full of working hopefully I will be able to leave this rat trap (well it is not that bad) and go spend time with my kids.
I have the original Tae Bo video. I love it. It certainly revs me up. You might want to look for just one of the original ones...probably way cheaper too!
I have that. LOL! WE love it. It has an option for workout ,but if you play with your dd's, you'll have a work out anyway. We have dance offs. Our favorite song is "kick the can" it's the can can music. It's the easiest for me. LOL! I'm not coordinated so that works for me. :)
Bummer that the video and the bag was such a pain in the butt . . . but I do highly recommend the old-school Tae Bo DVDs as being a great workout (even if the outfits the people wear are a bit dated. Still, with DDR, you may not need it!
