My BFFs convinced me to go down to South Burlington VT for Black Friday. We're leaving at 6:00 pm for the normally 2-hour drive south. Unfortunately we're in the middle of a snow & freezing rain storm at the moment. To make matters worse, I HATE crowds, am not a big shopper, AND we'll be 5 women in one room sharing ONE bathroom. How in the heck are we going to fit the 5 of us, plus shopping bags in one suite? I certainly don't want to leave my purchases in my car for fear of theft. OH MY GOD. I wanted to reserve two connecting rooms but NO - that would be way too expensive, my friends said...
You know, the trip wouldn't have been so bad if it was just myself and my two BFFs. But NO, one of them just HAD to invite her daughter AND her daughter-in-law. WTF???? We'll see how it goes - I'm not sure I'll want to repeat the experience next year.

Eep! I always avoid the stores on Black Friday. I worked retail to many years to ever want to be at the mall on that day! Still I will wish you all the best (including great bargains!). Have fun!

Holy Cow!
I am sorry, but that sounds positively awful! That is the exact description of my nightmare: overcrowded room, sharing beds and bathroom, then getting jostled in pre-holiday crowds to shop! Ugh!

it won't be that bad (yeah, right). Too bad I have to work, I could have driven up to meet you! Of course, I have no clue how far away S. Burlington is from here, but I always love a good road trip.
I didn't realize Friday had a name! All I know is that I avoid shopping at all costs the day after Thanksgiving!! I'd love to be all positive and tell you that I think you should go and try to have a great time, but I'd blow it off. When I went to Vegas with my best friend, we stayed with her friend and her friends daughter and it was miserable. I tried to be neat and tidy-considerate of everyone else, but they just left their crap all over the place and were total slobs. I wanted to get my own room, but my BF didn't want to be rude and hurt their feelings. Ugh.
If you do go, have fun and get lots of great deals! But like you said, just don't repeat this next year! How about if I come up and we split a room? I'd do it! ;)

Hope it turned out well - 5 women in one room with 1 bathroom is not the exact formula for things to go smoothly but if it 's for a short time, probably, things WILL go well.
I hope you had a good shopping trip. How was the time in the hotel with the group of girls? I always hate it when someone feels the need to add on extra people that you don't know. I hope you made the best of it though and enjoyed yourself!

Annoying!!! Three would have been perfect! And you could have chatted about anything you wanted- sex, weight-loss, embarassing stories. Why would you want to talk about that stuff with a daughter-in-law around?
