Carb Overload

Good morning!

I went into carb overload yesterday - not good.  I had planned to have the usual veggie soup for lunch, but my mother called to invite me to lunch.  I ended up scoffing down tomato-rice soup with a whole grain bagel (huge) with cream cheese.  As an afternoon snack, I caved in to a Kit-Kat bar.  For supper I had nothing planned and was feeling extremely lazy, so I made chicken noodle soup and grilled cheese sandwiches.  My only saving grace yesterday was the 4 litres of water I drank.

This morning I opted to sleep in rather than walk in the pouring rain.  I have to work later than usual tonight, so I figured the extra rest would do me good.  I'm happy to report I'm feeling much better this morning.

Bowling was fun last night, although I didn't play very well (121-147-89).

I hate homework.  Helping the girls with their schooling is driving me insane.  You should see some of the math stuff my youngest brings home - none of us can figure it out.  She's in Grade 2 (7 years old), working on diagrams, pictograms, and various charts/graphs.  My oldest is in Grade 4 and hasn't touched on any of that stuff yet.  WTF???  To top things off, everything is in French.  I grew up in English schools, so some of the French terms are unfamiliar.  Math was always my strongest subject, so the experience is getting extremely frustrating (especially when my youngest is having trouble subtracting 3 from 4).  Breathe....

Not much else going on today.  It's cold, dark and rainy today.  At least Grey's is on tonight (woot woot!!!).  Have a great one, everyone!

:-)

I see you ate all the carbs I was craving yesterday!! Hooray!! It must be TOM cause I am craving some weird stuff!

One of those days!

Yesterday was one of those days for me too! Don't worry, though. We will get through it.

I'm glad you are feeling better! Try to have a great day.

Love Greys!

I love watching Grey's, Never miss it.  I know what you mean about the math homework.  Im just amazed that  they expect anyone to know that stuff.

Working late?

Im working late tonight too, but it won't be that bad.  We will be fine, work is just work.  Your kids are just going to have to learn in class. If not then too bad, we know it doesn't matter much in the long run!  Grades in grade school? Teach them something else like computer skills or cooking.

Wow, I'm opinionated today!  Oui?

I hope bowling goes super super well next week.  Dont beat yourself up, its not worth it!!  Draw a line under Wednesday and start fresh with the food.

Hi Angel!

Your day sounds like mine.  It is raining here as well.  Although the sun is attempting to come out.  Yesterday was 75  here and to go to a cold 50 for today with rain sucks.  Yeah I know it is November but don't tease us:) I feel you on the homework! If you want to get stressed out to the MAX help your kids with their homework.  How about when they start whinning and complaining ( I can't do it) Oh I know girl.  And in FRENCH! but I am sure you can do it.  You seem like a calm homework helper (smile).  I love the meal plan above.  Is the tomato soup and Chicken noodle soup not good for you?  It sounds awesome.  I love eating soup especially with grill cheese sandwiches.  WOW you are making me hungry!  I hope you have a great day.  Don't work too late and good for you for sleeping in today.  You always work extra hard.  You deserved it!

precious

Breathe!

You can do it!

Yikes on your dd's homework though, I swear kids will graduate high school knowing more than I did when i graduated college!

good for you with the water...and the sleep!  You know that sleep deprivation is NOT good for weight loss, so good for you!  Have a great day!

I was gonna say ....

.... the carb overload thing is probably a sign that your body knows winter is coming.  But when I got the point where you wrote "grilled cheese and chicken noodle soup" - heck, that kinda sealed the deal.  LOL

PS:  Your bowling score closely resembles my measurements.  HA HA HA HA *ahem* (sorry)

Hello.

I think I had the same thing you had in terms of carb overload yesterday! My nephew is in 2nd grade and they have homework EVERY night, that's insane to me.

I love Grey's too!

Hi

I got your message and I also wanted to congratulate you again on losing the weight from vacation already. That's really awesome and Im so glad for you. So we're both going to get to 150, and we're currently in the 160's.  HOw long do you think its going to take us to reach goal??  Is it over a couple months away?

Amen to that!

Homework sucks!!! I simply do not understand my 5th graders math homework! No, I am not smarter than a 5th grader!!!!

But, yes, at least we have Grey's tonight!!!! Woot Woot!

School work

I've been there!  Math is one of my strongest subjects and my son used to bring home some stuff that looked like it was in a foreign language.  Hang in there, it gets better!

I think this is the time of year for carb overload.  Warm soups just scream for grilled cheese sandwiches and hot cocoa on the side.  We just have to keep on exercising!
