I survived the weekend!

Good morning!

I survived the weekend - I did not gain a single ounce!  Friday night we had an amazing meal for our 11th wedding anniversary.  Both of us had veal, but with different sauces - exquisite!  We shared a whole bottle of wine, but skipped dessert.

Saturday we drove up to Morin Heights for a BBQ.  Despite the TONS of food offered, I stuck to one "sample" plate and loaded it mostly with salad.  Trust me - this was a major feat.  There were at least 5 kinds of cheese, pizzas, pâtés, oysters, and breads to choose from.  I stuck to a half slice of lasagna, a tiny scoop of jumbalaya, and one piece of beef bourgignon.  I had a lot of red wine, though, but that's okay.

After the party we drove down to Saint-Sauveur and stayed over at the Travelodge.  For breakfast I had one slice of whole wheat bread with peanut butter, a coffee, and a small glass of orange juice.  There were bagels and muffins to choose from, but I avoided those.  Yay me!  We picked up the girls and met my dad for lunch, where I ate 2 poached eggs, one slice of whole wheat toast, and one slice of ham.  Not too shabby!

Last night my MIL made a turkey dinner, but I didn't go overboard.  I did, however, treat myself to Ah Caramel! cakes.  I don't remember the last time I ate chocolate and carmel - to die for!

This morning it was back to the exercise grind.  I did 45-minutes of strength training, followed by a 45-minute powerwalk.  My inner left ankle is still sore, so I did not jog.  Actually, I think I pulled something because my new running shoes are half a size too big.  When I wear my old ones, I feel fine.

This morning I decided to lay off the oatmeal for awhile, replacing it with a Vanilla Whey Protein shake.  I'm anxious to see if the change will be reflected on the scale.  5 days to Cancun - I really want to lose that last pesky pound!

Have an amazing day, everyone!

Cancun

I'm still so envious of your upcoming trip.  Sigh.... Boy, could I use a vacation like that?  Instead I get to travel to Atlanta for a business conference.  It will be long hours for about 11 days in a row, no weekend off.  So, think of me while you're drinking, laughing, and frolicking in Cancun.  ;)

I'm glad you had a nice anniversary.  And I hope the weight loss Gods let you dump that last pesky pound!

Goodness!!

Cancun!!!!!

Wow Cancun, I never been before.  You will have to tell me all about it when you get back.  I can't believe you didn't eat the muffins.  I love Blueberry muffings especially the one's from starbucks (delicious).  You are doing excellent I am so proud of you.  You said before you left that you were not going to over do it and you didn't.  That is awesome.  I am sure you will be down for Cancun.  I wonder how the food is there.

Take care,

precious
