This morning I broke through my plateau, weighing in at 169 (a number I haven't seen since mid-August). I am on TOP of the world! Cutting calories really did the trick!
Yesterday I went to my doctor's for an annual exam. She was thrilled I've lost 9 lbs since my last visit. Can you believe in 2002 (2 years AFTER giving birth), I weighed 209? It made me realize how far I've come. I told her I'd be 150 by my next appointment (maybe less...). I was 169 on her scale, so I guess mine is pretty accurate. For added exercise, I parked at the mall across the boulevard from her office so I could do some extra walking.
This morning I did the strength portion of my new workout schedule for an hour, followed by a 45-minute walk/jog.
For breakfast I exercised a little portion control - same food as usual, but in smaller quantities. I figure 500 calories for breakfast / 400 for lunch / 300 for supper / 300 for snacks should work out well for me. Time to start journalling! Speaking of calories, I was stunned to see that my one slice of whole grain flax bread has 30 more calories than my kids' SMART bread, with little difference in fibre. How unfair is that? Looks like I'll have to rethink my choice of bread now!
This afternoon I'm off to the hairdresser's for my color and cut. It's not my favorite thing to do, but I only go once every 4 months or so. My, how time flies!
Happy Thanksgiving to all my Canadian friends out there. Good luck sticking to your meal plans!!!

Way to go!
Breaking that plateau! I know exactly what you're talking about with calories. I had to journal everything and boy oh boy was it an eye opener as to how many calories are in things and I keep track of carbs and protein. I try and balance things. Also when I eat, I eat my protein first, followed by my veggie, then the "starch" if I have one. LOL! I get full on the good stuff so I won't eat the starch.
Hopefully by the end of this month I can break into the 170's again. It's been too long.
The only bread I ever buy now is Sara Lee 100% Whole Wheat w/honey. 2 slices is only 90 calories and it has 5 grams of fiber. I've heard that the Ezekiel bread is really good, more calories, but more fiber, too. But I haven't been able to find it anywhere.
Thats great that your doctor was pleased with your weight loss! It is so great when they actually notice!
How many calories are you aiming for again? I can't remember: last time I checked spark.com or whatever, I was "supposed" to be eating around 1900-2400 calories.... I think. LOL!! Glad I don't have to think about that, it's pretty easy with the WW points.
I'm so proud for you breaking through your plateau! such a great feeling, isn't it? Once I get back from Disney, time to get into those size 12s and it's great to have you here for support.
You're doing amazing. "see you" next Saturday!

Awesome Angel
That is great that you broke your plateau!!! The calories use to be the only way to figure how to lose weight. Which always worked perfectly. Now, with all the carbs, fat, fiber, points, etc. it sorta gets mind boggling. I really think you have the right idea!!! Keep up the great job. Hope you had an awesome Thanksgiving. What do Canadians eat on this holiday??? Blessings to you as you are my friend. Chargail
Congratulations on breaking through that plateau!! I have to write down my food. Yes it is a pain in the butt but it works for me. You are doing such a fantastic job!
