What a weekend I had - no rest for the wicked, I guess. Friday night and Saturday morning I got my laundry done and started cleaning the house. From 9-10 am Saturday I took my daughter to her ringuette (girl's hockey), then I dropped my oldest daughter off at Hip Hop from 11-12. In between I cleaned my bathroom. After DD's class, I drove to the grocery store to pick stuff up for our BBQ, then dropped her off at a friend's house (approx 30 minutes away). Thank goodness my youngest's birthday party was delayed to Sunday, because I don't know how I would have coordinated that one!
Anyway, our guests started arriving for the BBQ around 3:30 pm Saturday. Despite the cold wind and rain, we had a wonderful time, albeit indoors. 8 adults 8 kids (ages 1 1/2 - 9) - let's say it wasn't very relaxing. Everyone was gone by midnight.
Fast forward to Sunday. After sleeping in a little (and popping 2 Tylenols), I took my youngest to yet another ringuette practice from 11:30-12:30. Afterwards I had to take her to the postponed b-day party. We met my dad for lunch, then drove my oldest to her friend's for a playdate. Then I went home to clean the mess from the night before. I finally got a chance to nap a little about an hour before I had to pick up the kids. For supper we went to my in-laws - at least I didn't have to cook!
I watched the Emmy awards last night. Would I LOVE to be able to look fab and glam in those gowns! I was awed by those actresses who recently had babies and it doesn't even show. Take Jaime Pressly (Joy, My Name is Earl). She gave birth in MAY 2007 (4 months ago), and she looks fabulous. She says she exercises really hard 2 hours per day, 5 days per week. Also, she did the cabbage soup diet twice. Marcia Cross gave birth to twins in FEBRUARY 2007 - she looks STUNNING.
So... I thought of these women this morning as I sweated through my T-Tapp video. They inspired me to Fartlek my heart out, too, for an extra 40 minutes. I may not have an expensive personal trainer, but I KNOW I can do this on my own (with your support, of course).
Enjoy your Monday!

Goodness me!!
Whew girl I was tired just reading about your weekend!!!
Those actresses: its their job to be gorgeous. Ive got other things on my plate and no personal trainer, no stylist, nobody cares about my skin or make-up or hair except me. So gah.
And I wont cheat on my diet by fad dieting. We are stronger than that! We will lose weight the real way - by trying very hard with hard work, not just eating grapefruits.
I read your whole busy blog - wow, what does "weekend" mean to you? tee hee. Glad you had fun on Sat. with friends.
=D Have a great day!!!

Funny!
I was like "take a picture of me doing a bridge!" and couldn't wait to post it on my blog! LOL My oldest daughter is actually bigger than I am. She is about 1.5 inches taller so far!
Wow, your weekend was crazy busy! I watched the Emmy's, too. I'm such a star struck fool! I really loved Kate Walsh's dress! And Eva Longoria. They all looked great. What was up with Sally Fields acceptance speech?! Hmmm.
Absolutely you can do it! It's a heck of a lot harder for people who lead legitimately busy lives (such as yourself, my goodness!) and don't get paid just to look good. But there's some serious motivation behind you, and you can make this happen!
We could all be jealous of these women. and believe me I am. It just must be nice to have all the time and money in the world. We would all probably look as good as they do. Also, the wardrobe, hair and makeup people would be nice too. LOL!!
I remember when Charlize Theron lost all of her weight from the movie "Monster" super fast. Then it kind of came out that she exercised five hours a day and only ate what her chef and nutritionist made for her. *blah* - Whatever.
And these celebs that give birth and you KNOW they have a entire team of helpers caring for the kids, cooking meals for the whole family, trainers coming to the house, etc. and the celebs have the nerve to say, "Oh, I got back into shape just running around after the kids." RIGHT. Suuuuuuuuuure.
I'm sure I speak for others on here too, but I have more faith in you and respect for what you're accomplishing than I ever would for a celebrity! You go, girl!
