Rocktober 2008!!!
Another new month is here, ushering in the last quarter of 2008! This year has flown by! We are approaching my favorite time of the year though – cooler days and nights, the leaves changing color, the holiday season. Ahhhhh. Most importantly, the Nike Marathon is a mere 18 days away!
Training has been long and hard, and I am so looking forward to having my Saturday mornings free again. I am still planning on running, but for maybe 6 -8 miles, not 16 – 18!
Tonight is my ART appointment. I hope it’s as good as everyone says it is, and I hope it helps my knee pain. I did see my nurse practitioner at the gym yesterday morning, and she said she would send me for an MRI and give me a referral to see my orthopedic surgeon if this doesn’t help. I don’t think I mentioned I never went to see him a couple of weeks ago because she was on vacation and no one in her office would give me a referral without seeing a doctor first. Of course, since I was chained to my desk because of the Lehman situation that wasn’t possible.
I have a 5K this weekend down in New Bedford. It’s the one that Jay from last season’s Biggest Loser talked about doing for his daughter, who suffers from Beckwith-Wiedemann Syndrome. Maybe I can get a picture with him and Mark!
Hope everyone is having a great week – I apologize again for being a horrible blog friend and not commenting. I promise to try and do better!
**Edited to add pretty orange color a la Shelley!!

Orange! Why thank you!
Love orange! :)
LOL I was just replying to your Twittering! :)
Actually, HE talked ME
into it!!! He has always said we/he/I can go anywhere we want for a
race, but it has to be for a FULL marathon! So, even if I conk out half
way, hey, at least I got me a trip to Chi-town! :)
Oh, you're such a horrible blog friend! LOL Me, too, I'm afraid! I am just not into commenting as much now that EP makes it so damned difficult!!!!! And I feel like replying to a comment is cheating. I start to reply and then I think, no, wait, you have to leave a comment back! Its only fair!
OMG, I hope your knee is ok! One of my tennis buddies (shock, I know) hurt her knee in a match last week and ended up having surgery! She's out for 3 months now, but then her knee will be good as new! She thought it was just a sprain. It was soooo swollen!!! Ugh. We know all about knee pain, don't we? I'm surprised mine have held up for the past several months!! Knock on wood!
Have fun at your 5K! I always feel so dumb going on and on about my mere 12K when here you are running all these huge races!!! So, are we on for the 21st or the 23rd? I'm flying back from San Diego on the 20th. I think. Better go get my tickets.
Have a great day! Good luck with the MRI! Ooo, and Jay & Mark! I just watched last weeks TBL last night. I need to get caught up! Geez, between 90210, House, Privileged, TBL, and DWTS...I don't know how that will ever happen! And thats just TUESDAYS! LOL

Hope the ART works!
I know it must be frustrating dealing with knee pain this close to your marathon! I hope the ART works, and gives you some relief! I'll be keepin' my fingers and toes crossed?
I know what you mean about free Saturday mornings! Even though I'm not doing a marathon, but just walk/jogging the half marathon, over time, it's been a pain rearranging all the things that I didn't realize I did from Sat. morning to other times so I can build my miles on Saturday morning!
That would be neat if you got to meet Jay and Mark! They were probably my least favorite team last year at the first of the TBL season, but they grew on me as the season went on! You must post pictures if you get to meet them!
