It’s so hard to believe, but 2 years ago I looked like this:
2 years ago today I walked into Jenny Craig knowing I needed to do something to lose weight, and I didn’t want to have to go down the gastric bypass road.
I remember walking out of the center with 6 or 7 bags full of food thinking to myself “there is no way I’m going to lose 140 lbs”.The most weight I’d ever lost at one time before was 35 lbs.I figured, oh, I could lose maybe 40 or 50.
Well, 2 years later and I have lost over 100 lbs (although I’m currently at about 97 lbs gone – thank you running). In 2006 I was wearing a size 20/22 pant, 3XL shirt.A year ago I was wearing a size 14 pant, XL shirt.Today (depending on where I get them) I am wearing a size 10/12 pant, L shirt.I have lost 51 inches. The most amazing thing?I am training for a marathon!!!That’s something I NEVER imagined when I started down this road.
For those of you just starting your journey, it may seem like it will take forever to lose the weight you want to lose.I’ll be honest with you…it will definitely take more time than you thought it would!2 years later and I still have another 43 or so pounds to lose, and it’s going nowhere fast. However, I continue to eat right and exercise, and even though the scale barely moves, I am toning and reshaping my body.I will continue to take things one day at a time…but I do hope by this time next year I can say I reached my goal!!

It is Amazing
Such a transformation, I'm so proud to call you a friend.
You are the type of person on here that keeps so many of us going!!! You should be so proud of yourself for losing so much and getting HEALTHY!!! You are a very strong encouragement to me, thank you so much...
Thank you so much for sharing your story. It helps me so much to know that it is possible for real people, without personal trainers and personal chefs, to make this happen. I can do it too!
Thank you for posting your two year anniversary. I was looking for inspiration when I came accross your website and your anniversary post blew me away. Congratulations on your progress and on training for the long run.
Thanks for sharing your anniversary story. Sorry I haven't visited your blog for a while. I loved seeing your before/after picture pop up on the new EP site. Hope the run goes well. You are one of the folks who inspired me to start running and I thoroughly enjoyed a 5k a few weeks ago. You'll do just fine in the upcoming marathon.
