Before After

Another One Bites The Dust

Another toenail, that is.  It's the toenail next to my big toe on my right foot - one of the ones I lost after the Boston Run to Remember.  Sigh.  Somehow I ended up getting another blister underneath the nail - not sure when or how, but it started pressing against the nail bed and was slightly painful, so I decided it needed to go.  I'm sure my pedicurist will freak out on Sunday when I see her!  It feels so much better though.  I'm ready for my 7 miles tomorrow morning!!

Oh - and this morning's 6 miles went really well.  I left the house a little after 5:00 am - um, yeah, it's still sort of dark at that time.  I ran down to the esplanade and kept an eye and a ear out - only saw one shady character on a bench next to the Charles.  By the time I got to the Mass Ave bridge it was definitely lighter.  Had a really good run, although not sure if it was the best idea after Lungefest '08 yesterday.  I had a slight ache from my left glute into my hamstring after the first couple of miles, and was definitely stiff whenever I got up from my desk today.  Lots of stretching is in the forecast!

Hope everyone has had a great day!!  It's almost Friday - woot!

Way to put in that mileage!

As for my toenails, I was just comneting to my physical therapist that my "marathon toenail" is just "eclipsing...during the marathon in May, the toenail on my big toe started hurting right in the middle of it, at around 22 miles.  Sure enough the next day a bruise appeared under the nail.  THat bruise is now at the very tip of my nail.

The toes next to my big toes, both feet, have toenails that repeatedly get crusty, fall off, re-grow, etc.... nice look.

What is it?

Is it something we women do that cause this?  Both feet, 2nd to in by the big toe for me:  lose 'em every time too.

<shrugs>

If you find out what causes this, let me know - it's gross!  LOL!!

Happy run - I hate it too that it's still dark out that early for my wogs.  I guess that's for when I do want to get up early LOL!!

The grow back thank goodness

Even though I don't run I'm always losing toenails and they don't take long to grow back.

I can't believe how much running you do - was reading yesterday that people who run live longer

Ouch!!

That sounds bad. Hope it isn't as bad as it sounds!! I really admire you for running like that. I plan to be a runner soon, too..... slowly working my way forward with c25k :)

It's thursday..... are you ready? :)

Go yellows ;)

Owie!

Just think, if you keep this up, your pedicures should cost less.  LOL!  Way to get up early and take one for the team!

Yikes!

That messes up a beautiful pedicure, doesn't it?  At least the new nail will be clear and healthy!

WTG on the early morning run... ya don't do that around here before sunrise unless packing a weapon!

MOST of TN is not like that...

...and even further out the highway I live  on where Tatumsmom lives is more rural, and safe...I live in the suburbs just on the edge of the city of Memphis, and although it used to be quiet,  crime has grown in my area just in the last few years.  So you can still picture most of TN like you always have!

Thanks for the stretching tips...I know to stretch before and after, but just have omitted "before" because of my limited time before the park closes.  I thought about stopping after some distance Tues. night to stretch at a bench...I will do that if it happens to me tonight!
