Before After

Oh Shizzle

Oh. My. God.  Jerel just called with news about the air conditioning unit.  It needs to be replaced.  The whole thing.  The part that lives in a closet in our apartment and the other part that lives on the roof.  What. A. Nightmare.

Other than the cost - which I don't even want to think about - we may have to have a plumber come in to take out the hot water heater that lives next to the air conditioning unit in the aforementioned closet, while Dave from Superior installs the new unit.  Let's just say the space is quite tight.

HUGE SIGH.  Man, do I need a cocktail.  I guess we should be happy - according to the date on the air conditioner unit it was installed in 1986.

That sucks!

Sorry to hear about your A/C!!

The up side...

...is that it will probably be much more energy efficient than the '86 model.  You got 22 years of good service from it.  It will be interesting to see if your electric bills will be lower.  I know how hard it is to let that money out the door.  I will pray that you or Jerel gets a bonus, etc.  The Lord will provide for you!!!  Stay strong during this set back, don't let stress make you eat.  I am only telling you this b/c, that is a weakness of mine.  Hope you are stronger than me!!!

Gross!

I'm so sorry!

Hot!

I'm so sorry about your A/C!  Ours went out this week and it was HOT in the house!  Hopefully it will be fixed soon so you can at least be comfortable!

(((hugs))

Oh honey I'm sorry to hear about the a/c!!

Wow,

Only $180?  Do you want to trade?  Mine was almost $400!  Now the difference might be that I am here outside of Houston TX.  My neighbors and friends are higher, one said hers was $700 and another said hers was higher than that.  But it usually ours is not this high.  It has been hot.  I raise it up and one of the kids pushed it down to 75.  Too low for TX.  Hopefully, this next month will be better.  I hope.  Has it been installed?

O.M.G. is right

I wouldn't wish a/c probs on my worst enemy! Hope it gets sorted soon

Ugh!

I hate spending tons of money on appliances that I think should last forever. Ha! I love the Nike wallpaper! Good luck on your 12 miler today! Go rock it girl!

Yikes!

First off, love the background... those running girls are so cute!  I need to remember that if I only read blogs on google reader, I miss out on the creative ppl like you and Shelley who actually update their background from time to time (in my defense- I'm not a gold member presently, so it does make it more difficult).

Really sucks about your air conditioner breaking.  How's the humidity in Boston?  Over here, we have an option (which I have) called evaporative cooling (as opposed to refrigerated air).  It is also more affectionately called swamp cooling.  In any case, the idea is it uses a fan and water to recirculate air through your home that is cooled down and is very energy efficient compared to refrigerated air.  The one caveat is you have to live in a fairly dry climate otherwise it doesn't work so well.

In any case, I hope that you get it fixed without too much hassle and extra $$$.
