Recovery Mode

Yes, I am still in recovery mode from my weekend trip to CA, the 10K and most importantly, surviving the redeye. I don’t think I mentioned the guy sitting next to me was a personal space invader. He poked me in the ribs pretty much the whole flight, and then his pillow slipped out from under his head and started smothering me! So, I ended up only sleeping about 2 hours. I did make it through a full day of work on Monday – actually, a full day every day this week.

This has been and will continue to be a busy/crazy week – on Tuesday I was gone from the office for a couple of hours because I had a doctor’s appointment. Nothing major – just had some moles removed – but couldn’t work out because the doctor didn’t want me to get sweaty. Last night Jerel was inducted into a business school honorary so no gym yesterday either.

I am planning on having a good workout tonight though, and then afterward I’m getting a facial, so I won’t be home until after 8. Tomorrow morning I’m seeing Jane, my running trainer, at 6:30 am and then tomorrow night I’m getting a pedicure at 7:00 pm, so once again I won’t be home until around 8:30.

On Saturday I need to make an appearance at JC (more on that in a few) and then I’m going to have Jerel drop me off over in Cambridge so I can run back home. Sounds hilarious – I know!! But, I want to add a mile to my long run every week, and the place I picked is about 7 miles from my house according to Map My Run. This way I don’t have to loop the Charles River a bunch of times (like the Women’s Olympic Marathon trial runners will have to do on Sunday).

This is going to be an exciting weekend. The trials are on Sunday, and of course the Boston Marathon is on Monday. In previous years I would have done anything to avoid the crowds, but not this year!! We’re getting up early on Sunday to watch the trials, but I have to go to work on Monday so I’ll be watching the marathon from work.

As far as my eating has gone this week, eh. I’ve done okay, but have indulged in a few extra calories. I’m sure I will have a gain, but it is what it is.

Hope you’re all doing great – sorry for my lack of comments. I’ve been reading but just haven’t had time to say hey. I’ll work on that too!!

Pedicure

One thing I've noticed since I've been running....my feet need way more pampering.  Lots of calluses.  I need a pedicure too.  Sounds like you have way too much going on right now.  Dang.  How do you keep up?

Andrea!

I'm so proud of you and your races!  The Garmin looks way cool.  I would love to have one but they are pretty spendy.  I already have two other toys I guess so I don't "need" one.  I have my nike ipod running kit and a nike imara hrm.

I hope you catch up on some zzzzzzz's!  Love ya girl!

busy bee

Wow, you've been busy! Hey, I loved the comment you left on my blog the other day...it was long and wordy! Loved it! Ok, so eveyone is on board for San Antonio? We should try to get a bunch of EP'ers to go since we have so much notice!

Yes, Hayley is fine! Just achey from old age. I don't think she needs the pain meds, though. Yes, all my zoo crew loved you! That was fun, wasn't it? My husband is a good host. Dinner in the backyard was so nice!

I can't wait to hear how you like that Garmin. I'm gonna have to wait for the post-Vegas Visa to arrive before I think about ordering it. I'm tired of having to record everything all over the place. Oh, yea, tennis. I know. But last nights match was a blast! Everyone was super nice, I didn't hurt my knee or break my nose! LOL And I burned about 800 calories. Do you know that I lost 2 pounds over last weekend??? Woo Hoo!!! We kept so busy and all that running!! See? Its really easy to eat out and not over do it.

TBL was awesome!!!! I just loved it. I'm gonna watch it again. I can't wait for the next season!! Did you watch Men in Trees...no, because it was on late. I could barely keep my eyes open last night, but I watched it. I don't know........some good stuff going on.

Have a great day. Enjoy your pedicure, facial, & that great run. You have lots of plans! I was going to try to squeeze all that in, but I figure I'll do the facial & pedi in Vegas. Did I tell you I'm going to see Van Halen??

Talk soon!

My inspiration

You have really turned into quite a runner!  I'm very proud of you! I'll be using you as my motivation when I'm out jogging!

I am so happy for you!

1/2 marathon bound! I changed my blog listing a couple of days ago, but I have been so buried I haven't been able to comment. I had so much fun last weekend. We definitely have to plan our next race. I LOVE the shirt idea! Which race in San Antonio were we talking about?

Sorry my comment is so disjointed. I am so tired I can barely think.
